Great review! I think with this book, we have the last of what was necessary to migrate an Eberron campaign from D&D to PF2. Definitely food for thought.
Subbed 40 seconds in.. appreciation for the little details like cover art is something you don't see in a lot of reviews. There's plenty of chatter about new mechanics and classes but not enough about that juicy new lore and flair. My GM let me class change from a Wizard to a Gunslinger when this officially released and I'm having a blast with it. It's not always top of the charts in damage per round but my first critical with an arquebus certainly got some reactions (thank you Fatal d12)
Good overview! Between Guns & Gears and The Grand Bazaar, PF2e just widened considerably! I'm looking forward to rolling up a Gunslinger in the future.
Guns & Gears is not something that I am looking to add to my setting but there are things in the book that do intrigue me (thanks to your review). This however does not make purchasing the book worthwhile for me but I can see myself purchasing the PDF version for a reference. Thanks for your review.
I think I got six stupid character ideas out of this book. Automaton Vanguard Gunslinger (based on Saint-14 from Destiny 2) - Automaton Pistolero Gunslinger (based on Cayde-6 from the same game) - Human Armour Inventor w/ the gadget-building feats and the Vigilante archetype (Batman) - Aasimar Human Pistolero Gunslinger w/ Unexpected Sharpshooter archetype (Vash the Stampede) - Tiefling Human Weapon Inventor (Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear) - And a kobold construct inventor whose construct has a prototype espresso machine built into it (the only one of these ideas that’s original :P )
Definitely a good review. I already have mine pre-ordered since I always prefer to go with Pocked Edition which got delayed until November 10th. My game and group has been on hold since the beginning of 2020 and i'm eager to start up a fresh one with them and give my players these options.
Thanks for reviewing this! It makes me excited to play Pathfinder-- but will wait to buy until the union situation is resolved. If you haven't supported the Paizo Workers Union, please do!
Fully support the union! And glad to see the company is starting to take steps to work with them. Very excited to see how the union will positively affect the rest of the industry as well

Oh, that would be a really fun shift for sure!
Goblin who’s obsessed with lighting fire works off!!!

Well if you liked the Grand Bazaar, stay tuned! You'll like what we have coming up.
More Snares and Hazards to throw at my players? Yes please! Thank you for the overview of what's in the book.
Cool review. I never played Pathfinder but it was interesting to hear how they deal with all this steampunk etc motifs.
Late to the channel but happy to see this book reviewed!
Where can we find your Rise of the Runelords game? I'd love to watch you both in action

Wish the spine/cover matched the other core books
I kind of do as well. Paizo did this with Secrets of Magic, Dark Archive and a few others I think to differentiate them from the more "core" books
Thanks Dawn.
neat book. Sharing in my steampunk group.
Glad you liked it, and thanks for sharing!
