The Final Months of 3DS Online

The 3DS and Wii U are having their online servers shutdown in April of next year. This stinks but today I talk about some alternative online options and mention what this shutdown will entail!

I’ve just been spending the last few days wonder trading tons of Pokémon to fill up my boxes with unique ‘mons I won’t be able to get after April. Trying to complete the ‘dex, but I probably won’t finish it soon enough.

Pokémon is the only reason I have any of my Nintendo consoles. Just Pokémon and the 3ds is the best part of Pokémon bc the GTS is awesome and it’s free. I don’t feel like trading is worth 10 to 15 or even 5 bucks a month.

Not a problem fan servers are in the works and you really should mod your 3ds at this point as the eshop is gone and theres no other way to get certain games.

Im upset that i was 17 when they shut the eshop down and I won't even be 19 when they shut the online servers down... I personally have used my 2Ds over my switch for months, approaching at least a year, and before that i at least had binge play sessions of games on the 2Ds.
At this point i recommend installing homebrew, especially for Pokemon fans, because once Bank shutsdown, you'll have to use homebrew like PKSM to store your Pokemon, and I'm personally doing it for my gen 6 living dex (which i need to finish, literally 5 Pokemon left but I'm being lazy and doing other stuffs lmao).

If they didn't stop making 3ds, I would never ever stop playing it. - This is because of the 3d effect and the 2 screens gameplay. But a broken 3ds means zero available models to replace it. And 2 of my 3 3ds' broke since they hit the ground once or twice, the 3ds is extreamly fragil

What you can do to play online after early april 2024 is mod your console and install pretendo.

When you mention having gold Mario, there is an alternate version of the metal Mario skin you showed on screen.
It's essentially a secret character you could get.
I believe it was through getting a lot of coins, but I don't remember exactly
