My first visit to Nashville about fifteen years ago before hot chicken was everywhere, Prince’s was my first eating stop to try this “hot chicken” I learned about. It did not disappoint in terms of flavor or heat! Great interview.

As an Aussie that grew up in New Zealand that lives in Nashville, it is really cool to hear this history of Nashville’s beloved hot chicken mixed in with Andy’s enthusiasm for learning about the local stories.

What a character and what a life well lived.... 43 years is a huge endorsment when it comes to a food place being still open and so popular. Fair play and Ihope her daughter can continue with that soul that she has. Thats a massive part of the place for sure.

I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Nashville last year and tried delicious Prince Chicken. It was so nice to hear this interview with the owner and find out how sweet she is! Also, i have a decent heat tolerance, but let me tell you, the hot level, with ghost pepper, humbled me! 🥵😂 medium is where people should start for sure.
    Also, Andy, you are awesome!

There is a white family who basically stole this chicken recipe - literally ate there first, decided to open a restaurant, probably barely altered the recipe, ended up becoming a franchise, they're now millionaires if not multi ones, and had the nerve to go "apologize" to her on some show. I believe I saw it on Discovery+. Can't remember it for sh!t, but didn't forget this lady. I couldn't believe it then and still can't. The gall.

I listened to this interview from the viewpoint of someone from another country witnessing a deep part of southern culture in America. I've lived in Jersey and worked in NYC, and spent more of my life in some very secluded places in the south, and warm people like her from the south just hold a special place in my heart.. I wonder if her southern charm accent sounds as unique and cool to him as the Australian accent does to most of us. She comes from a family of true survivors, people that represent unity and strength, hard work and endurance, intelligence with plenty of street smarts. Getting a little older now myself, but when I was young I respected so many of those things from the families of my friends in the black community. They weren't things I didn't always see in the white community, and I'm white, obviously. All of us could take a lesson from generations that never let the obstacles get in their way, Laughed and loved their way through life, took care of business when it was necessary and always defended the family, and learned how to flourish despite the obstacles of true racism that existed back then. Our society has come so far in that aspect and I wish people would focus on unity and give credit to the progress we have made. Unfortunately so much division is being pumped. Ladies like this remind everyone but it's about unity, about serving others, and about helping your fellow human. We need stories like this Andy and thanks for including this interview. I absolutely adore folks like her. They are the stitching of the remaining fabric of what's left of America at this point. This is a story that brings us together, not just an interview. The melding of cultures is the spice of life and unity is what we should all strive for. And food is the absolute perfect thing that creates that bridge, that segway. She pretty much said it herself when she said bring that date in here. She knows what's up. Put out some good food, good vibes and good times and people open up. Blessings to everyone
