Watching this again, and I gotta tell you: The staff/spear is my favorite. Tremendous power and a great workout.
Spears are so under-appreciated people think your only limited to thrust and there are just so many other things that you can do with it.
They can turn into elongated axes or swords depending on the spear tip and pole length very versatile
These drills are superb. I'm learning to half sword with a long sword that has a ricasso. However the German half swording manual is limited to grapples and thrusts. This is more of what I was looking for. Thank you.
Yes, kali staff is a gold mine of ideas for long sword.

if you use a spear weapon for hacking, it will break right quick; think about axes how the grain should parallel the stroke direction.
can you do sibat and kalasag(sheild ) stuff? and also double sibat
Paul. Do you have techniques for some of the other pole arms? They are very similar.
U will not want to do a big slash while using long spear, the weapon itself is big enough, which means it tooks more time to recover. If ur big slash didn't hit target, the target will hit u immediately while u try to recover.
