I blame all these kids parents for not talking to them about relationships, about underage drinking, about sex, about "the birds and the bees" about consent, about all the crap that went wrong in this situation. Sounds to me like a bunch of people got together and everybody wanted to party like they were in their mid 30's, but hardly anyone there could even rent a car they were so young and green to the world. It can be a traumatizing situation if it's your first time to have something like that happen, but it's not the absolute worst of situations that you could ever be put in. The George kid doesn't need to be written off for any of this, nobody should be written off for anything from this. These kids just need to go to their parents and have a sit down with them.
I feel like a lot of kids today especially are learning stuff about relationships, intimacy and sex on the internet, which is very bad because everything is so polarised nowadays, there are no grey areas, only black and white, and if you put your hand around someone's waist drunkenly, apparently it is now on a level with stuff like assault and r*pe. I think it’s so depressing that in order to save the careers of his friends, George admitted to the world he was a sex offender and told his friends to publicly go against him. you know what would of prevented all of this......First not underage drinking with older people (I used to underage drink but I’m responsible and understand that alcohol can severely inhibit your decision making) and 2. four simple words "i dont like that" also her response to why she kept going back "well i thought that's what people do they go back to the same spot" like me personally i haven't gone back to someone i didt feel comfortable with....i stay around my friends then try and leave.

I bring the underage drinking because she brings up how drunk she was which is irresponsible and makes the friends look terrible because when me and my buddy’s drank we stayed together no one got separated and when we all decide to leave we leave no and if or buts about it.
Like rn I’m 21 I’ve had a few years of experience drinking so I can control my self, compare that to my 18 year old self who did not and drank just to get drunk and caused me to make some stupid decision like I have a scar across my side and a scar on my forearm because I thought it would be a good idea to swing around a hot fire poker like a lightsaber (tried to do the obi-ani) ended up burning my self.

Here in the US, most states won't let you drink at 18, not because of just the law or your a "young adult" but because your brain doesn't fully finish developing until the mid to late 20s; not even most colleges allow alcohol. I would say that everything that happened in this situation is actually how most people act in general during parties (except for the SA allegations ofc). But if you want to play safe the best things to do are to:
- mirror the actions of the other person
- in doubt, ask if you can go further once (don't push if the person says no)
- not drink too much to be aware of what you're doing
- if you feel awkward or if you don't want to do anything anymore just say it and stop.
And remember: there's no rush, be safe and have fun!

I think what clearly happened here is 2 parties failed to communicate properly and it had disastrous consequences. She’s a victim but he’s not in any sense a predator. Is an adult 21 now? I understand the age gap is questionable, but they're both legally adults, but the idea that Caiti and her friends aren't being held accountable at all in this situation is concerning. I don't think George needs to ask the age of people at a function where it is assumed everybody there was vetted and was at least legally an adult beforehand, and her friends who bought her there should have some responsibility, they understood that alcohol was involved, and clearly encouraged her drinking before the whole event took place.
