I'm a musician,mostly a guitar player but occasional singer, and I don't smoke often, but even if I've had a few cigarettes before singing, I can already tell a difference in my voice, it's scratchier, and it actually makes you sound better in SOME songs, mostly bluesy type stuff, sort of like this song.
