Hi, thanks for the video. Going to Norway on the Celebrity Apex in May. How long did it take you to get to, climb then return to the cruise port from the Aksla Viewpoint in Alesund? My partner and I have an excursion booked in the AM but will be free in the afternoon (ship departs at 4PM).
Hello, so sorry for our delay. We found it pretty quick, I think it must have taken between 5 - 10 minutes to climb but some do it faster, some slower. There are options to get a bus or taxi up and you get the same view either way so if you're worried about time you could opt for that. It is beautiful from up there. The stairs do offer some view points which you wouldn't be able to access otherwise and they have lots of benches and places to sit on the way up which does add to time but also the experience. 😁
Great video. We will be sailing into Hellesylt, Alesund, and Flam. How early do you get up for the sail in hellesylt? Do you see the Seven Sisters Waterfall when sailing in or out?
Amazing, very envious! We’d go back tomorrow if we could! 😂 Hellesylt wise, I’d recommend anytime from 5am-5:30ish. Especially if the weather is favourable. Seven Sisters Wise, I’d check with the cruise line as to whether or not you will be going past it. We were supposed to last time we went but it was cancelled and we went a slightly different way for some reason. We saw the Seven Sisters Waterfall via a RIB excursion (would HIGHLY recommend btw… you get really up close!). Have a fantastic time! 🏔️☀️🥂🚢🥳
Nicely done! I took notes!
Merci! Thanks for watching! 🥂🚢🥳🏔️
Really enjoyed this video lads, very helpful. Didn’t realise about smaller ships being best for the north but makes sense. Thank you.
Ahh thank you. Appreciate it. Yes, P&O wise, Aurora and Arcadia tend to do the trips further up Norway. 🇳🇴
Great blog, you've sold Norway to me.........................................
Haha, very glad to see. Norway is truly spectacular. Something about the place really connected with us. Very good for the soul indeed.
Enjoyed your video of the Norwegian fjords😊
Thank you, that’s lovely to hear. It’s such a beautiful place. 😍🇳🇴🛳️
Great tips boys! thanks!
Pleasure! Norway is absolutely one of our favourite cruise itineraries. So much so, we’re heading back next April! Can’t wait! ❄️☃️🏔️🌨️🚢🥂

@@GetLostWithBenAndGareth thank you so much for the quick response. We have booked an excursion to geiranger via one of those ferries
@@NLMusique Absolute pleasure. Amazing. It really is a stunning sight. Have a brilliant time! 🥳
@@GetLostWithBenAndGareth thank you
Which cruise ship were you on?
We were on the beautiful P&O Cruises ship, Iona. A stunning ship to cruise the fjords. 🥂
@@GetLostWithBenAndGareth Your info on the various ports was very helpful. Thanks
Our pleasure. Thanks for watching and wishing you a fantastic voyage. 🚢🥂☀️
Completely wrong about best time for whales. Orcas only come late October to January. Blue whales, minke and fin whales are May to September.
Right, we stand corrected! 🫣😂
