Teacher Emma I really love your videos and your explanations are splendid! It helped me develop myself very much. And I am always overjoyed to see to videos . 😃❤❤. Can you just make a video on only nouns ? I mean a video on discussing different kinds of nouns? It would be really really helpfull for me 😊 . You are such a good teacher. I wish I could learn from you physically. I'm very comfortable in your way of explanation 😌❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm confused right now cos I don't even know how I discovered you 😊😊 you're bloody brilliant. .. I love you Emma and I promise my English is gonna get better soon with you .... 😊peace
Hi Mam please make a video Having . What's the role of having in English grammar . I have been watching your videos for 1 year. Your teaching style is quite good. I can understand what you told . Thank a lot mam .
hi i am new in this channel i really like her how she says so perfect that word because i can understand better and when she explains i really get that idea of it i really like this channel
In the dictionary there are some symbols to tell the correct pronunciation of the word in front of it. Could you make a video teaching how to understand those symbols? Thx ma'am for these amazing videos. I learn a lot from them.
Thank you Emma. What about the ? I have to use it for countable or uncountable? I think the is like a/an for countable and when I can use it when I know which one it is.
Thank you so much for this amazing lesson, Teacher. Actually, countable and uncountable nouns are a big problem to me, but I'm trying to overcome it. I love your didactic.
EMMA you're the best :) thank you for the perfection that you put in your work and your mind's sensibility is great ! it's a realy pleasure to watch all your video:)
Hi Emma :). I appreciate your videos and I have used some of them with my classes already. One thing you didn't mention in this video, which is something many of my Chinese adult learners have trouble with in addition to knowing whether a noun is countable or not ("knowledges" comes up a lot, and "vocabularies" is a bit confusing, since it's also a word, albeit with a different meaning), is knowing when to use the singular or plural form of a countable noun, since the Chinese language doesn't have singular or plural forms. As a general rule of thumb, I usually tell them that if there could be more than one, or none, then we use the plural form (e.g., "I don't have any *tasks* to work on right now," or "Do you have any *tasks* you'd like me to work on?"), though this isn't always the case, particularly with idiomatic phrases like, "Do you have a minute?", or in the case that you are asking for just one of something (e.g., "Do you have a pen?").
Very true Michael! I definitely need to make a few more videos to 'complete the story' of English nouns!! Great suggestion! Where are you teaching in China?
I work at an American-owned software company in Xi'an, doing communication and cultural training for the staff here. I definitely appreciate your videos and the work you do--thank you :). Sometimes it's hard for me to find content that's suited for my adult learners, particularly because I have a range of ability levels that I work with, from beginners to advanced. Also, it's common in China for younger people to have moderately good English reading and writing skills, but listening and speaking skills tend to be very minimal because it's rarely practiced in most schools (Chinese English teachers often primarily use Chinese when teaching English...) When I look around online for material that might be good for using in listening practice or in quizzes and tests, a lot of it tends to be either too hard or too difficult, or not relevant, but recently I've been able to use some of the videos that you and Lucy have done with pretty good effect. So, again, thanks :)
Great lesson Emma. Really you do a big and wonderful job with your videos. We love you. I glad to meet you here on UA-cam. I'd like to know if you can speak Spanish. Can you answer in Spanish? Special greetings to you.

Great video! Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome, Ann!
I've always said 'an hour' but never realized that is because of the vowel sound ! thank you for that :B
It happens in reverse with words like:
- a uniform
- a University
Though the first letter is a vowel, the first sound is the consonant /j/
