Let's face it, not really hahah. Aleida's actress doesn't look old in a bad way (wrinkles etc) but she does seem to have a maturity and a mother's spirit

I think this would have been more powerful if Aleida succeeded in killing Daya, both protecting her kids but also taking Dayas place as staying in prison for life.
Aleida saw Daya becoming her grandmother. Daya started using her younger sisters the same way Alieda's mom used her. Alieda has done the things she has done as a mother, but she never made her children do illicit activities to support her terrible habits
IDC what the actor says who played Daya. I take this as Aleida killing Daya and it was the end of Daya. I feel as though the actor just didn't want Daya to die

I really want to believe Aleida killed Daya but it cuts to the CO responding quickly, and no way she could've suffocated Daya before being pulled off her by the CO.
If she crushed her larynx, the guard would have to perform an emergency tracheotomy to save her. That requires cutting into the throat to put a breathing hole in the trachea below the larynx.
@@hajde8128you hear a cracking noise in the show, and Daya is struggling to breathe. It seems like they’re implying she delivered a crushing throat punch, even if the actress’ strike and the character’s strength aren’t enough to do that.
@@hajde8128 Palm-striking someone in the throat? Honestly, there's a chance all it did was choke her up for a minute. But if Daya had real bad luck, a crushed throat isn't impossible. What isn't up for debate is that if somebody didn't open that airway in 6 mins, the likelihood of survival drops to fractions of a percent. Brain death starts at 4 mins and it only get worse from there.
I don’t think Daya dies, I feel like the guards would have pulled Aleida away long before that happens. But what I think Aleida DOES kill is the empire Daya has built. I think everyone Daya had under her control loses respect for her and switches over to Aleida, and Daya will be taken down a few notches in regards to her ‘ranking’ as well as her ego
Tbh I like daya even after she turned from sweet & innocent. But it's sad how her life changed so fast & how many times she got hurt. she was in love with Bennett, he proposed & than he left her while she was pregnant without saying anything. She had the baby but when Cesar got arrested the baby got taken away. She accidentally shot one of the CO's who brung the gun into the prison in the first place & he was sexually touching the women like other CO's.then She thought the best thing to do was give the baby to pornstache's mother. She got life in prison & the guards were beating on her which is really unfair. The guards shouldn't be beating on anyone this show shows tht the prisoners r human too even tho they committed a crime. They didn't have a right to beat on her & taystee. She started liking daddy who gave her drugs for her pain. She got addicted to drugs. She became a drug dealer. She accidentally killed Daddy after she saw daddy cheating on her. Her mother slit her throat & tht doesn't even change anything.
She didn’t “accidentally” shoot Humps, she intentionally shot Humps. Daya was naive and stupid, and when Aleida left Litchfield Maria took advantage of her and used her for her gang business and when that gun landed in front of her they pushed her to shoot the guard and she was dumb enough to listen to them.
I think becauss of Aledia abuse and the abuse of the guards and all the abuse she suffered led to her downfall because she getting beaten constantly by guards and taking medicine to ease the pain caused her addiction and eventual status to drug lord. So in a way it's her mother's fault, the prison guards fault, and her environment fault. Thank God she didn't die but still it's sad to see how low she's fallen as she's become worse than her mother. I hope they make a spin off series that redeems Daya and aledia and mend their relationship

Their back story is sad. A broken woman raising a broken woman. That episode that shows Aleida mom was pretty much pimping her out when she was young. Then she did her best with Daya, but her best was not enough.
Typically you have to crush the hyoid bone and the esophagus. Sadly it is only good to use as a stunner. The amount of force needed to make that a killing blow is way more than a self defense blow
Aleida pushed Daya into this though so how could she be mad the Apple didn’t fall far? Daya is on drugs anyone in her shoes would be after taking several beatings. Once Alieda found out Daya was using she still supply drugs to her. Aleida was also the one who sent Daya baby to that messed up situation. Aleida also had all her kids around drugs way younger than Daya who has them selling. Daya was correct Aleida can’t be a terrible mom to her and get to pick from the litter which ones to be good to.
Something to realize is that aleida was also pushed into this life by her own mother their story represents one of a broken family cycle aleida did what she did for the sake of her children and because of what her own mother put her through she wasn’t able to handle it properly which sometimes pushed her own kids towards the things she was trying to prevent. It’s important to note that her attacking Daya was to protect her other children and in a twisted way was for her to take dayas place for life in prison and for daya to be free
She didn't do a good job of it, she choose Ceaser and her daughter went to jail because of that association, just like she did. The time for her to break the curse was far to late
i was hoping that she somehow got reunited with her daughter , Daya deserve to know the truth that she didnt kill the CO , but she did in fact kill Daddy so
I’ve seen prison/jail change a person exactly like this. I’ve heard the show got a lot of criticism for getting things wrong but what people have to understand is that no prison is exactly alike. Meaning there are prisons like litchfield out there just because the ones you have seen/been to are different it doesn’t mean all prisons are different
I mean what does Aleida expect? She was an awful mother and Daya and Eva had to do what they needed to in order to survive. She had a part to play in why Daya is the way she is now - that being said, well… it’s not like it would be surprising if she killed Daya.
Daya was such a sweetheart too for the most part until she went downhill, she's so relatable and my favorite I love her and hated that she died before finding her happiness and true love. 🥺💔
Daya and Aleida are both empathetic characters to a point but I’m going to focus on Aleida because she also constantly makes poor decisions and she’s the older one . She could’ve been out and taking care of her kids but she chose to do things that violated her probation and got her sent back to prison. Life on the outside wasn’t exactly what she wanted but she was being provided for as well as her children. It wasn’t easy but she had something good and solid. The bottom line is Days made f***ed up decisions because of the example Aleida provided and because all of Dayas bad decisions always were heavily influenced by Aleida except what happened to the guard. Aleida is the example of someone who should not have raised children. No one should be surprised that the Diaz fam went the way they went. Drugging and pumping is the fam business as Daya puts it. I highly doubt she had to involve her younger siblings. Let’s not pretend they wouldn’t have done those things eventually. Look what happened Daya AND the situation is worse now as they’re all in foster care again. Daya did so right letting her daughter be adopted out.
Do yall really think she killed her? Cause I doubt the guards couldn’t reach her in time to stop her. They’ve stopped so many fights, especially in Season 6.

How exactly is that supposed to work? Drugs are bad yet she had her children in the house watching while she cut coke . Thats why I hate Aleida. Her mental gymnastics to pretend she's a good person. At least daya is honest that she's a scumbag. Drop the fascade
@@MM-hf6om Fr! Daya would not even be where she is if it wasn't for her idiot mother.
RIGHT finally someone gets it
Daya is one of my favorite characters. She started off as the cute shy girl now she turned into a ice cold dealer.
That was superb acting by aleida I actually forgot it was a show and felt like I was literally watching somebody shaking with anger and snap right before she hit daya
If Daya lives, they'd be the new Carol and Barb.
prison changed daya and went down a path she couldn't come back from taking the goodness she once had
was it just prison tho or did bennet the co leaving like he did have an impact on her as well?
Probably both prison and n
Bennett leaving changed daya
It was Maria. Daya was fine even after Bennet dumped her, it was until Aleida left and she became friends with Maria that she started to change.
I think she did kill her. Daya asked her if she knew what it was like to kill someone. In the translation, she answers her back by saying "maybe now I'll know what it'll feels like"
Thank you for literally reexplaining this scene back to us. It's like we don't have ears or eyes.
@@taylorclay8186 LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The writers confirmed daya doesn’t sue here
@@howtoduck7370 Technically she did die... The show died.
In real life, the actresses that played Aleida and Daya are two years apart.
What an insult to Aleids’s actress 🤣
@@wesleypoep4328 it probably means Daya looks young
@@wesleypoep4328 lol, but I find her hotter anyways. Dayum! 😉
Let's face it, not really hahah. Aleida's actress doesn't look old in a bad way (wrinkles etc) but she does seem to have a maturity and a mother's spirit
Aleida was never the hero, she made this monster and she blames the mess on her
Apparently, Daya survived that blow. And another prison divided by a family rivalry begins
like you're ever heard of a united prison
Sounds like a spin off to me 👀
Nah, she died along with the show.
An Endless cycle.
what’s sad is that daya is a representative of aleida. aleida ruined that sweet girl who liked to draw. there’s also the aspect of making oldest siblings become parents. no wonder daya resents her.
As much as everybody says different, that looks like a death scene to me. 👀
Agreed, everything is always spoiled now with people not wanting death scenes,
@@Veachie after the fact, right?
@@Veachie well that sucks. I didn't like daya. But oh well.
@@Veachie i think its more implied daya and aleida were going to be the new versions of barb and ( i forgot the other sister. The crazy one with the glasses)
@@MM-hf6om Her name was Carol. And yes, I think so too. They will probably end up in different blocks, like the Denning sisters.
Her mom humbled her
IDC what the actor says who played Daya. I take this as Aleida killing Daya and it was the end of Daya. I feel as though the actor just didn't want Daya to die
Dascha said not only did she think her character doesn't die but the producers (or smthn maybe writers, one of the important groups) said she doesn;t die.
@@Momofan69 Nah, Dascha thought her character died but the writers told her Daya was only knocked out
Keep living in your delusions
It's a damn shame it took all of this for Aleida to realize what she's done.
Dannng she is the product of her environment, you go through so much but the mom brought her and now destroys her creation for going wild. My favorite line is when she goes “ you used to be sweet and draw talk about art 🖼” that hits
Yeah she drew art that her mother disposed of, Aleida is a bad parent even here.
I always hated her mom daya deserved so much better
She had it coming!
Killed one child to protect the other, deep.
I still love Daya because of HOW AMAZING THIS ACTRESS PLAYS HER LIKE GIVE HER CREDIT PLZ
Still glad she's alive tho because she still was an important character
I really want to believe Aleida killed Daya but it cuts to the CO responding quickly, and no way she could've suffocated Daya before being pulled off her by the CO.
If she crushed her larynx, the guard would have to perform an emergency tracheotomy to save her. That requires cutting into the throat to put a breathing hole in the trachea below the larynx.
@@evilsharkey8954 I doubt Aleida is strong enough to have hit her that hard
@@hajde8128you hear a cracking noise in the show, and Daya is struggling to breathe. It seems like they’re implying she delivered a crushing throat punch, even if the actress’ strike and the character’s strength aren’t enough to do that.
@@evilsharkey8954 I think you're over exaggerating a bit
@@hajde8128 Palm-striking someone in the throat? Honestly, there's a chance all it did was choke her up for a minute. But if Daya had real bad luck, a crushed throat isn't impossible. What isn't up for debate is that if somebody didn't open that airway in 6 mins, the likelihood of survival drops to fractions of a percent. Brain death starts at 4 mins and it only get worse from there.
Don’t treat others how u don’t want to be treated or people u love this is a great example of that
And she's lucky they don't have no chanclas in prison else she woulda got that too
I don’t think Daya dies, I feel like the guards would have pulled Aleida away long before that happens. But what I think Aleida DOES kill is the empire Daya has built. I think everyone Daya had under her control loses respect for her and switches over to Aleida, and Daya will be taken down a few notches in regards to her ‘ranking’ as well as her ego
I looked on the wiki and it says that her status is deceased due to suffocation
They made it very clear to dascha polanco that daya doesn’t die from this
Tbh I like daya even after she turned from sweet & innocent.
How did she get the drugs?
I sure hope daya didnt make it.
The character is just boring as hell.
It would be interesting to see alida recover from this crime.
@@Veachie Well said. Tragic, throughout.
It's not about the character being boring. Daya isn't boring. You're so dumb.
@@shangri-la9458 cant handle an other opinion? That is sad.
@@You-mr3lo You painfully missed the point entirely but I think you know well enough that nothing about Daya is boring. The crazy character development an showing how going to prison completely changes a person is evident but I guess you missed that point entirely too. Sad.
@@shangri-la9458 hahaha did i hurt your feelings?
An opinion is personal. You can't say that a character has to be interesting by definition. The character in question goes through a lot...but it gets tiring at some point. Making unwise decisions over and over becomes predictable and I as a viewer lose interest.
pennsatucky went from being an annoying domineering character to a misfit that I felt sorry for. Her story was told and she dies. nice ending.
Daya shot dude in the leg acting like shes a stone cold liller 😂😂😂
Their back story is sad. A broken woman raising a broken woman. That episode that shows Aleida mom was pretty much pimping her out when she was young. Then she did her best with Daya, but her best was not enough.
My absolute favorite Aleida scene in the whole series.
I always thought she died at the end for the longest. I wish we had another season 😩🥺
She did
“You used to be sweet, drawing and talking about boring shxt” 🤣🤣🤣
Personnaly I hope she didn’t die and that it frightenned her enough to change back.
Typically you have to crush the hyoid bone and the esophagus. Sadly it is only good to use as a stunner. The amount of force needed to make that a killing blow is way more than a self defense blow
And if someone performs an emergency tracheotomy, the victim can be saved.
I feel like Daya was trying to drag the other kids down mostly just to spite Aleida.
Alieda has no one to blame but herself for all of that. She was a terrible mother, and she and Cesar sold and did drugs in front of Daya.
Mother of the year 💐👏🏾
Mother and daughter living the American dream.
Look at Paz from ‘Power’. Angela’s sister.
They are the new carol and barb
That's right. Love this.
I understand Aleida. She got messed up from from her own mother and wanted to break the curse
She didn't do a good job of it, she choose Ceaser and her daughter went to jail because of that association, just like she did. The time for her to break the curse was far to late
i was hoping that she somehow got reunited with her daughter , Daya deserve to know the truth that she didnt kill the CO , but she did in fact kill Daddy so
My fave actor.
Aledia created a monster and chose to kill it💔
I’ve seen prison/jail change a person exactly like this.
It’s wild that they are only two years apart in age
Is that Paz from power 😂😂
Hell yea. Ruthless.
Great actress too
So what the hell happened? Why they just leave it open ended like that?
Does anyone know what episode aleida calls someone a barfie doll?
What does she say in spanish, like written in Spanish? I cant hear what she says cause of the music
I know both actresses have said Daya isn't dead but i refuse to believe she's not dead after that!
It’s a bit late for Aleida to play the concerned mother…
How that ***** took daya down like wtf- 💀
I thought Crazy Eyes would exonerate her this season. Boy was I wrong
Aleida has always been the one who scared me the most out of all the inmates
Ever since Daya shot that CO in the 5th Season, Daya has been on a spiral going down to the pits.
absolutely hated her character at the end, but loved her in the beginning. she just tried way to hard to act all big & bad
The fact that both actresses are only 2 years apart. Almost same age
I remember in my middle school years a kid punched me in the stomach (not the throat thank god), and Daya's reaction was exactly like mine
She’s alive.
I was searching up the intro AND SAW THIS WHAT NOOO
Does that really works, when you hit somebody in the throat ? 1:33 LoL 😂🤣 I want 2 try that, on someone!!
