The intelligence of Redd Foxx, has to be given as much credence as his comical genius as Fred G.Sanford etc.He did jokes, but maintained his integrity,I'm glad he never took the shuffling negro roles that were offered to him.

They entertain. It's their job. Unfortunately, because of the skin color Hollywood sets them up to play degrading, unintelligent, stereotypical roles. All of them are intelligent. But the world tries to suppress it.

@@georgejetson3648 Nah, I get what the other guy was saying. True, he hit it big in the 1970s, but today's cultural tastemakers don't talk about him the way they talk about Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Dick Gregory, Lenny Bruce, Dave Chappelle, Bill Hicks, etc... guys who aren't considered "just comedians," but more like modern-day prophets or philosophers. And, to be fair, Red Foxx should probably be included on that list, as well.

The interviewer is an idiot ........ What a great guest but the questions were so lame ...I think the term racist is way overused today by Democrats and media but
I am a conservative type white guy and I was offended by this moron... No wonder black people felt the way they did If people like this interviewer spoke to them like this... It actually pissed me off the questions he was asking and the way he was asking them ....I had never heard him speak like this other than his records and the Sanford and Son show ( genius by the way ) ... In late 80's , at ASU playing football, I smoked first joint and just happened to watch this show and it was so funny, we made it a daily thing right before the show ... good memories .......

I'm so grateful to see Redd Foxx in this interview and a few years later he got his role... Sandford and Son was a perfect comedy for his talents.
This was my first introduction into black culture along with The Jeffersons. It didn't take race relations to the point of white vs black, it made us laugh at everything.
I'm so happy these shows can still be watched and enjoyed. For me, they unite rather than divide us which for any show is a great accomplishment.

The tragedy in your point is that it's being watched everyday. Redd said one of the worst decisions he EVER MADE was signing his future royalties from SAS over to his ex wife in order to pay for his costly divorce. He resorted to selling his property/cherished keepsakes and work the remainder of his life all the while stating in interviews that he wanted to retire comfortably but couldn't.😢

I love Redd and it’s sad what happened to him in his personal life and the industry… however what’s the point in being a downer regarding my statement… he’s gone on and loved by many. He made it in that aspect. Plus I’m sure Redd is gone on to bigger and better…. I don’t think he’s sad anymore henceforth U made it uncle Redd in my eyes. Have a wonderful blessed day. 😊❤️

They were road dogs. While together, they would pull off little nickel and dime schemes like skipping out on a restaurant plate, sell a little weed and stuff like that. But what pulled them apart was Malcolm had eyes on bigger schemes like heavy robbery, and Redd couldn't see himself doing time or getting killed, so he they went their separate ways.
