You made this sooooooo easy. My 2006 trailblazer is idling like it is brand new! I have been struggling with his rough idle for years and now it is fixed! Thank you!
dude, you have no idea how happy i was that this worked for me. Here were the things i was dealing with... Car would studder and shake when coming to a stop and sometimes turn off while idle. The AC will switch off and sound like it was engaging and disengaging. Followed this video step by step and it fixed my issue. THANK YOU! i owe you a cold 6pk!!!!
I pulled fuses #10 and #28 before starting. Took no time at all after I watched this video. Vehicle runs very smooth and the engine light went off. Thank you!
Do you remove the positive terminal from the battery THEN the remove fuses for 15-30 minutes? Or do I leave the battery plugged in and remove the fuses
@@benitesw321 I know i'm a year late here, but just remove the fuses for the 15 or so minutes. you remove the fuses to "simulate" the PCM losing battery power, without running the risk of damaging your HVAC system. These trucks are, from what I hear, notorious for damaging the mode door actuator because of the way it slams between settings when battery power has been disconnected and reconnected. Any GM techs or H.B.W. can chime in on this though with more detail. That's just what I've heard through the grape vines.
My 2007 blazer was idling rough and stalling during deceleration or while stoped in traffic. Followed instructions in this video and now it runs beautifully! Problem solved, thanks!
I used an old tooth brush when I cleaned mine with a micro fiber cloth, like he said it does help with start up and I noticed better take off, it use to hesitate bad, also replace your plugs which helps too, good luck!!
Nice video. My 2005 Trail Blazer has been idling rough for several months now, Chevrolet dealership wants to charge me $250 for fuel system service and $275 for a tune up.

Just an update from my previous comment, this didnt solve my problem (but probably didnt help cause the throttle body was filthy) but this video was very helpful. My harness was on the back not the side so was harder to see(also I'm 5'3 so didnt help lol) I dismounted the throttle body so that I could look at the connector at a different angle, I could then see the prong that needed to be push. I had to push it in with a screwdriver and pull with my hands but with the pressure from the screwdriver it was nothing. Good luck to all with filthy throttle bodies and with trailblazers
You're talking about removing #10 fuses, do you do that, with the key on, while waiting for 15 minutes, prior to starting the vehicle? 03 Trailblazer 4.2 Thanks again for the video! 🤗

Cool, I opened the flap and cleaned both sides also. I was hoping it'd get rid of my rough idle but it didn't. I think I have a bad VVT and camshaft position sensor.
This helped me big time! Thanks for the help, although not your fault, I can't seem to get all the crap off the TB, I used Seafoam and it got maybe 80% of it clean. Any idea why I can't get this all off? I noticed a big improvment in my acceleration tho! Thanks
You are right, but it's not so that the computer doesn't have to relearn things...You must disconnect the fuses and reconnect them SO THAT IT DOES RELEARN how to run properly with the NOW CLEAN throttle body.
Flap Erball I have used the cleaner to clean my throttle body running and stepping on the gas is what the cleaner can saids , but I have not disconnected the sensors after I cleaned , should I do just that so the computer relearn that the Tbody has been cleaned ?
I cleaned my throttle body and reinstalled and now there's a lack of acceleration. I try to pull out into a turn and give gas and there's nothing but regular pull. I have to push to the floor to trigger acceleration and then let off to get more speed. Is there something else I should do? Should I unplug the battery for a long time? Will that help?
Sometimes when you disconnect the sensor or battery you have to a manufactural drive Cycle so the sensor can Re learn you can look it up online every Vehicle is Different
@@DIESEL250 thanks I'll see. Since I cleaned the throttle body I've worked on cleaning the catalytic converter. Still sluggish. I'll see about a relearn process. Thanks
Not exactly sure, but I heard something about a throttle relearn combo. Something along the lines of turn vehicle on, turn off. Turn to aux power, off again. Fully press gas pedal 3x and turn on. Then do about 45 mins highway driving. Like I said, not sure if it's actually a thing, but may be worth looking into. Or just take it to a shop and ask for an idle reset. Unfortunately, I also heard you need a more specialized scanner in order to initiate the idle reset. But, hopefully that's all you need. Dirty O2 sensors can also cause TB's to go into limp mode while driving. Basically RPM drops while you're driving. Which can be scary, but relatively cheap fixes. You can even take them all off and soak them to fix em on up. Would def try that before potentially spending a fortune on cat conv.

Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful.
Do you have to do the " relearn process " ?
+Daniel harvey The chocolate kyle kulinski from what i know about it, the computer relearns as you drive. I didnt do anything special.
Hey what was the recall for? I have the same truck and I'm praying there's a recall for my issue. Thanks
+Limit AK it was something with the door buttons. Something about them catching fire, nothing too serious. Lol. Also, my gas gauge was not working, that was also covered.
how many miles was on the vehicle when you did this sir? Thanks!
Around 100k.
+Jeff Baker Thanks for the reply. My 2011 Acura TSX V6 is about 73k and getting same issues as described in your video and also at WOT (I have a video of this posted resulting in misfires, knocks) also did a crankshaft relearn, but I think it's time for a tb clean :) thanks brother

I have a 2003 Envoy XL, my idle seems fine but it burns gas like crazy, will this improve my gas mileage?
+John Henley it's possible.
John Henley iknow its late you ever fix? I had same problem but i had a check engine light and it was the secondary air injection valve.
Now i know why my envoy doing that samething but mine shuts off once i hit that ac buttom but i did disconect my battery that why i had that same problems
did you have to reset the throttle bory after you cleaned up
Nope, I just drove it around and the computer relearns the info it needs.
Don't forget to DISCONNECT your battery and pull the PCM -B and PCM-1 FUSEs to reset your computer. That should fix the issue right away.
Thank you so much!
I know this is an old video. I have the same issue. Replaced battery and boom. Do I need to disconnect one or both battery terminals?
+James Taylor I believe just the positive cable.

I have cheavy tahoe 07 model but can't found problem...it's misfire and can't moving in fast ...plz help to know the problem?
zaman khan check the spark plugs for a misfire they might be full of oil or just old. Try replacing the old spark plugs with new ones. That should help with your misfire hopefully.
