- This is my review of the Xiaomi Air Purifier 3H after months of usage. I'm sharing what I think are the pros and cons of this device to help others make a good purchase decision.

If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

Hello! I can't connect my device to Xiaomi app. It says connecting through channel 2 and fails in the end. I have no problem with my 2H purifier. I connects without any problem. Thought in its connection process, it says connecting (no channel 2 mentioned). I saw people in internet had same issue but couldn't find any solutions. Anybody has any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks. I just thought I needed to mention buying new filters every now and then and its impact on maintenance cost. I considered it a con because the filters are not cheap and most viewers would probably be new would-be owners of air purifiers, so it’s good for them to be aware of it.
How did you control it via siri ?

Hi, you’ve mentioned that the hepa filter is good for 6 mos - 1 year. How do you prolong the lifespan of it? Do you have cleaning maintenance like vacuuming? How do you clean it? Thanks!
Hello, yes I'd vacuum clean it every now and then, but I am not sure if that actually prolongs the lifespan. Mine lasted for more than 6 months, then it started showing 0% filter lifespan but it still continued to work. I just ignored the notification for a few weeks until I got the new filter.
Hi there, I just bought mine but it’s stuck on 001. I literally placed it beside the main door near the garage where it’s really dusty. Do you have any idea how to fix this? Thank you!
Hi, here's a few things you can try:
1. Restart the device. Turn it off by pressing and holding the touch enabled button, unplug from wall outlet and plug it back in then turn it ON again.
2. Clean the laser particle sensor. I hope you have not thrown away the user manual yet. There are instructions there on how to clean it.
3. Although this one is kind of silly but I just want to include it, can you check if the filter is in a plastic bag or something? Some air purifiers are shipped with their filters wrapped in plastic so you'll need to remove it before using the device.
4. Lastly, you can always check with your dealer for warranty coverage and replacement options.

this doesn't have true HEPA filter right? and for the RFID for the filter life, will the air purifier stop working when the filter is way past the recommended lifespan?
it does have True HEPA filter
The xaoimi air purifier 4 doesn’t have a true HEPA filter, this model does.

Hello! in my observation, it does not function as deodorizer. So if I’m cooking something with strong smell like dried fish or other seafood, the smell would linger for hours even with the purifier at full speed. I can say though that this probably is based on the installed filter, the default one is gray. There is a green replacement filter which features antibacterial, formaldehyde and odor blocking.
And yes, it is a HEPA filter.

HEPA filter is not great at odors. you may want to look into purifiers with the feature of "carbon filter"

Hello, I'm using a free software called Homebridge, my Mi Smart devices connects with it via software plugins which are also free. I use raspberry PI to host the Homebridge software and it communicates with my iPad's Home App via WiFi. It's a bit intimidating at first, but it's really as easy as following several steps to make everything work. I'd love to make a video about it in the future, but at this point I just don't have the luxury of time. There are plenty of UA-cam videos that can show you the whole setup process. Just search "Homebridge HomeKit". Hope that helps!

Hi, I’m using a software called homebridge and I’m running it hosted in a raspberry PI. Just try searching youtube for ‘Homebridge on Raspberry PI’, and you’ll find helpful videos. I’d love to make a video on how I setup mine but I don’t have the time yet.
i bought the pro model but i had a problem with it and i had it returned because when i turned it on there was a weird smell coming out of the filter and it gave me headaches and when i turned it off the headaches where gone .. did any one face a similar issue ? other wise i think its a pretty good product
If you’re air purifier has ‘ionizer” on its label, its actually dangerous because it produces ozone which is toxic to humans in its pure form. 💀💀

Sir Jedcan you do me a favor and shine a flashlight from the outside of the filter and see whether you see light passing through? I bought the 3H kasi and when shone a light, the carbon doesn’t seem to be as packed as advertised on Xiaomi’s website. Parang konti lang yung activated carbons. Are your filters the same?
Hi! I tried shining mobile phone flashlight thru the filter and I see minimal light passing thru. Just note that my filter is about 6 months old already and has 19% lifespan left. It has already accumulated a thick layer of dust. Probably it was the same case as yours when it was brand new. I have a gray filter by the way.

Hello, I have the global version. Yes, I'm able to set automation using the Mi Home app. It also has a built-in temperature and humidity sensor which I use to even enhance the whole automation experience. For example, if the humidity AND temperature reaches a certain level, I trigger my room air conditioner that is controlled by a smart device to turn on. Hope this helps!

Bro, I cannot connect it on my wifi, it says cannot connect to 5ghz
Hello, it will only work with the 2.4GHz WiFi. You'll see it in the Specifications section, page 8 of user manual. Hope this helps!

LR 310 or Xiaomi 3H ?
Thanks, I do not have experience on the LR 310 and so far I’ve had no issues with my Xiaomi. If the LR 310 is around the same price and has a cheaper replacement filter, you can probably go for that one.
I can’t find answer anywhere whether this should be placed on the floor or 3-5 ft above from floor? Would you know?
The only stated recommendation on the user manual is the 20cm distance on each side and 10cm on the back. I don’t recommend putting it above ground as it may fall over in case of earthquake or if the location you have mounted it on is unstable. Unless of course you have a way of securing it in place without compromising its functionality. Hope this helps!
Can you use air purifiers even when you only use electric fan and not aircon?
Oh, definitely! the air purifier is for clearing the air of dust and fumes.
it will be a waste since if your windows are always open, more dust will come in. You will need to replace the filter more often.
Do you have this open 24/7?
Nope, I have it on scheduled run every night when air conditioner is on. I also turn it on when I am cooking. You can definitely have it turned on 24/7 but I think it will shorten the lifespan of the filter.
Can you keep using the old filter or does it stoop working ?
I would like to know this too....quite important. It would be really big issue if it just stop working when it decide that filter is too dirty.
Sorry for the late reply. You can continue to use it but it will show 0% filter and will keep reminding you to replace it

@@mndrgs I’d probably go for the cheaper xiaomi air purifier as it would be my secondary unit. Maybe the 3C or 2S.

I use homebridge running in a raspberry pi, and within homebridge I have a plugin that allows integration with homekit via WiFi. To be honest, it’s been a while since I tinkered with it so mejo limot ko na yung details. There are youtube videos on how to hook up them up and if you have some knowledge with basic programming I’m sure you’ll be able to follow it.
Filter replacement is true for all HEPA purifiers. Not sure why it is a con. There is no purifier that just can magically vanish all the dirt it sucks in.
Thanks for the comment! I agree. My consideration for it being a con was the price and the lack of cheaper alternatives. Also, this is my first air purifier so was really excited and all, but when I learned about the filter’s price and replacement options, it really made me think twice about getting it because of the cost consideration. I simply wanted this review to at least highlight that fact so the viewer can make a purchase decision based on their initial and the succeeding budget.
Can it get rid of unwanted odors?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. It’s not really designed to be a deodorizer. But it may help making the air a little fresher than the ordinary.
Is it beter to put in living room or in bedroom?
I prefer putting it in the bedroom and have it working while I sleep. But sometimes I move it to the living room to do some air purification especially after doing some dusting and vacuuming.

Man this is not a review video after 2 months of usage. This is how the product works and description, you might as well said new.

can it substitute a regular air fan?
I don't recommend having it as a substitute for a regular fan. For one, the air blows upward. There are some attachments out there that you can put on top to make it behave like a "bladeless" fan but people say it is not recommended as it may affect the performance of the motor since it is not designed to work that way. There is a fan-air purifier combo though that is made by Dyson but it is very expensive

It’s generally quiet, the noise you would hear at high fan speed would be the air noise not motor noise.

How long are you supposed to leave it on for a day?
you can leave it On 24/7, but I take advantage of it as a smart device and schedule it to run 8 hours overnight daily
