    Can you give a difference between hyperbole and personification they both seems to me same. I am slightly confused

      Personification: You give human abilities to animals, plants, etc. (non-human) things.
      Hyperbole: You use exaggerated statements.

    If he was alive / had been alive, I would not have done that.I wouldn't have done that. I know that it's a third conditional sentence but I heard that if the facts are still true,we use "was" instead of "had been".
    What should I use(WAS OR HAD BEEN)?
