Out of the millions of videos about cool armors it's been incredibly hard to find information for what to wear as a base layer. Sincerely, I appreciate you covering the other topics besides leather and steel
If I may add something that was dearly missing from this video: Whatever pants you choose for a medieval fantasy setting, it is far more important to make sure they look narrow below the knees and towards the ankles, as this was the general look of hose \ pants in the medieval periods throughout Europe. There is nothing more frustrating and immersion-breaking, than seeing people wear a complete set of medieval clothing, but leave the lower parts of their pants wide, like in modern trousers. One simple way of avoiding the modern look of pants, is to tie a long piece of leather / wool / cloth (like a bandage), around each shin / calf, just like viking reenactment enthusiast do.
What's the name of those epic armoury pants? They seem like just what I need. I'm looking around on their site but I can't find the ones with reinforced knees
Back in college I wanted to join a LARP group, but there was a girl in the group who was the de facto leader, and she vehemently opposed denim pants and insisted Earthtone Khakis were more historically accurate. Nevermind that Khakis were invented in the 1840s but blue textiles date back to pre-Renaissance periods. Or that Khakis are generally not meant for tumbling in the mud. I ended up never getting to join the group. :C
A lot of people i know talk about how good the Rus pants are but I find that my knees catch the material at the front and it makes walking in the pants uncomfortable. Am I wearing them wrong or something?
ua-cam.com/video/XWBWIe2pWno/v-deo.html On this note, I have a long sleeve medieval viking coat from their shop that I got custom sized, it comes down to about a third of my thigh. I wear with my costume a pair of winingas that cover from my ankle up to right below my knee. Most of my "pants" area is already covered. So what do I wear for pants? Long underwear. I just wear a pair of carheartt long johns for pants, they're wool, they're comfortable & they're breathable. My local ren faire has events in May, June & October. For the warmer months I just wear them as is & for October I wear a pair of sweatpants as well if it's cold. Easy simple solution.
That is a good question! Women in general have more options as modern women's clothing comes in more styles and materials than men's. Slim pants in natural materials such as linen, wool or leather would be great options for that look.
Personally, I would be extremely hesitant in purchasing any type of clothing that wasn’t colorfast. Even more so, if the fiber was wool. Non colorfast fabric, is production, low quality ! Buyer beware. Great video, very informative. Best regards

Can you make a video on how to choose medieval gauntlets I am considering buying some
The Modern Day Knight that’s a good idea! Although it may be some time as that is a bit more obscure!

thanks for this video! it was informative! ;)
Great video! Thanks!
Question: which of these would you recommend for warmer temperatures. Specifically 80° range.
Definitely linen then cotton, not wool. I would say the linen ones from Amazon or the Epic Armoury ones are the coolest
fellandfair thanks!

Is there some ideas for us women that want to where renaissance style pants

Will Sweat Pants work?
I would not recommend them. They can easily be identified as modern. We would not approve them at Weekend Warrior.
Between the high boots and long tabard, I'd assume a nice pair of leggings would be enough for that sliver of space.
THANK YOU
A viewer request - fix your mic sound... its very low and a bit thin? i dont enjoy the way it sounds.. but otherwise i like your videoes!
I was going to comment the same.
