Walking is an underrated fat loss tool🔑 In today's video, I show how you can use walking to lower your body fat percentage. I use this method myself and so do many of my Online Coaching clients. Thank you for watching and let me know if you have any questions!

I'm 4 months into my weight loss journey. Down 45 pounds since August 1st. It's been 2 weeks since i started waking on my treadmill at least 40 minutes a day and noticing that stall i hit is gone! Daily walking and being better with tracking macros is a game changer!
Walking for 30 minutes a day on a 10% incline treadmill just fast enough to be uncomfortable having a conversation but not so fast that I need to hold the rails. Absolutely fantastic results.
Just track how much you burn daily. There is no "holy grail." Go for hikes and focus on burning more calories. You can do what you said and overeat within my deficit window and still gain weight... Focus on the energy deficit and a fixed diet plan to see real results.
This works 100%...I dropped 20lbs (213lbs to 193 lbs) in about 4 months and all I did was increase (doubled) my protein (130-160g per day) and increased my steps (8k to 14k a day if possible). The only exercise besides walking that I did was 20-30 pushups when I had the time just to get my upper body some sort of activity. I'm a few inches smaller in the waist, clothes fit a LOT better, I look and feel much better overall.
Walking can aid weight loss and provide many other health benefits especially if you do it daily in the morning in nature and under the sun. Been doing 15K steps for a year now. 5km Fasted Outdoor Morning Walk [7K Steps] + Afternoon Outdoor Walks.

Question for you: What is better for weight loss? full body strength training versus doing cardio plus just targeting the main muscle group you want, such as chest and biceps?
I recommend training every major muscle group for the best results and proper muscle maintenance as you lose fat. On top of your full-body training, you can add walks and some cardio to further enhance calorie burn🏆

I walk 13-16k steps a day, am 51 years old, on 1900 cals a day but my body fat percentage does not drop below 23% for over 6 months. SHould I be eating more to kick start my metabolism?
From my personal experience I started a hit running session for 45 min, 5 km , 5 days per week and my legs muscles have increased a lot just from running!! The leg muscles do not decrease with running I do not know where you found this survey! If you see professional runners or footballers their legs have a lot of muscle because of running.
@@iWannaBurnFat it's the same as walking on a treadmill without inclined, you also can decide the speed so walking in place should work, i hope. i started doing it every day for 30 min in the morning and 30 min in the evening and it's not my cardio of choice, i also do interval of 50 min jump rope. i hope to make myself eat more food and still loss weight
Man, I really think I am doing everything right but still stuck around 200lbs. I don't want to go lower than 2000 calories but seems to be the only option. Average steps 12k to 15k zone. Working out consistently, these days every other day. Getting at least 120 to 140 gr protein. I am 176cm/5'8" probably and my maintenance calorie about 2600-2700 cals while I do 2k. What am I doing wrong?
you've basically hit a plateau. now for 2 weeks , eat at your maintenance calories while also hitting your protein goal and working out. after those 2 weeks , create a deficit again and youll see results this time. its called a refeed week /a diet break.
A few key points to consider: 1. How is your waist measurement developing? It's possible that you are still losing fat, but your weight may be stubborn due to water fluctuations and/or increased muscle mass. If your weight has stayed the same but your body measurements show progress, you are still on the right path. 2. When is the last time you had Diet Break or ate at maintenance? If it's been 8+ weeks of you being in a deficit, I recommend eating at maintenance for a week and then getting back at it with your deficit. I discussed the concept of a Diet Break my 25% to 10% body fat video (see my channel page). Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged by these short-term plateaus! They are part of the process. You will progress further💪🏼
@vivekrajyaguru honestly, I've beaten all my plateau with determination but this one seems to be the hardest. I lost about 50 pounds span of 1.5 years and stuck here for close to a year now. I'll give it a go but instant weight may scare me off lol
@iWannaBurnFat I've put on a ton of muscle and am still adding some more, but my abdominal area seems to not go down. In fact, it grows bigger from time to time. I track myself both on scale and pics. I shall give refeed a go. Kind of scared for it, but let's see. I've been watching your videos for a while now. Great work man!
The specific settings will be different per machine. As a general guideline, have an intensity of effort of 5-6 on a scale of 1-10. So a nice paced walk, but nothing exhausting💪🏼
I walk 10km per day around 20k steps including work...still I cannot lose fat and I fast from 10pm to 2pm afternoon next day...I cut all junk and do not know what to do next. Ah BTW was overweight and lost around 45kg but now every progress stopped. Am 52 year male.
Your body may have hit a “setpoint” - Google it. A plateau can mean you’ve adapted fully to whatever you’re doing. You must change something when that occurs if you haven’t yet hit your goal... I lost 1 pound a month for 5 years. Whenever I hit a plateau I either reduced calorie intake or increased my weekly average walking and hiking.
i used to walk about 15-20k steps a day as a landscaper, i didn’t get big after quitting but i can tell after a few years of not landscaping that i have a tiny bit of belly fat, other than that im still skinny, 5’7, 140lbs, and i was walking on all sorts of inclined hills, majority of the time, but… i also didn’t eat anything for 12 hours doing all that until i got home and ate, so pretty much just walk for hours with like 50 pounds or whatever total weighing on you and dont eat all day till like 6pm and you’ll be skinny af, just don’t counter that with junk food, lucky for me i didnt need a diet when doing that and i would eat fast food usually after work, now im tryna go on a diet, or just eat healthier food
For which transformation shown in the video? For Scott from New York, it was about 6-months. For Elliès from France, the time between the 20% and 10% picture was a bout a year. With Elliès, we weren't in a rush to get leaner once we reached that 14-15% body fat range. So there was a maintenance period during that year as well💪🏼
MAte I walk everyday 12k average steps (outdoors, indoors, incline mainly), plus I weight train 3 - 4 times a day for an hour per session and consistent for past 2 years, I intermittent fast too everyday, Im 47, 6 ft 2 inches, I stay around 104 - 106 kg, I cant lose weight around belly area and sides it takes ages to go away, I hit protein most days and eat lower carbs, I have a bad sugar tooth and do eat sugar free goodies, protein bars etc. I think I eat around 2000 - 2400 calories on avg, HELP, pls...
If you’re working out for an hr 3-4 times A DAY, you’re not consuming enough calories so your body will most likely hold onto fat. You might be in too much of a calorie deficit
If jogging does not hurt but walking does, you are walking wrong. You have a different stride pattern when you walk compared to running. Go to a coach that will check you stride and do the corrective excersise they give you after diagnosis. Cheers
Great video please correct though. Walking 1 mile burns the same calories as running a mile (unless you are sprinting or walking very slow). It's basic physics. Running 20 minutes will of course burn more calories then walking 20 minutes because running gets u further. The same output of work takes the same energy minus inertia (hence the sprinting exception). Also in both the more you weigh the more calories you burn. If you find different information online it's wrong. Please to anyone listening use reliable, peer review journal studies. Alot of misinformation online. Additional walking does not produce fat storage chemicals while running does. Cheers
Thank you for the kind words about my video! Your comment makes sense in theory, but it is not grounded in peer-reviewed scientific research. The data I showed about how many calories you burn walking/running a mile is based on the following experimental study: 📚Wilkin, L. D., Cheryl, A., & Haddock, B. L. (2012). Energy expenditure comparison between walking and running in average fitness individuals. The Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, 26(4), 1039-1044. Outcomes found in well-designed experimental research weigh heavier than theory-based explanations. With that said, the calorie-burn difference between walking/running will not be huge for the same distance. So I still am a big supporter of using mostly walks as described in the video.
Yes! Walking with a weighted vest helps increase calorie burn because you (of course) have to carry more weight while walking. So if you want to enhance your calorie burn, wearing a weighted vest is awesome💪🏼
Check the full video! The walking is a progress accelerator. If you add walking on top of a calorie deficit and consistent lifting weights, you will see great results :)
I used to run ! Then I got arthritis in my hip! I needed surgery!I go walking between 10’000 or around 12 or more in a day! With weight lifting ! I miss running! Because walking it seems like it takes so long for me to reach my 10’000 steps!
Hey, thinking of starting recomp (not been working out for quite some time now) should i calculate maintainence at current status (little or no exercise) or keeping i mind that i would be working out 4-5 times a week and subsequently add a 10/20% deficiet to either one
if your job has you running or walking that’s another great benefit! I worked for 6 hours yesterday and i counted 7.8 miles in running/walking and burned 310 calories
I think walking is good but cant out do a run its done in a shorter time frame and feels more effective for example me i just wanna be skinny I dont think wallong is Powerful enough to do that
My trainer had me running twice a week for 40 minutes to an hour you will lose weight . Walking is good as well but running you going to lose those pounds that fat quicker
Cycling is exercise, provide its at a brisk pace. Waling is locomotion, not exercise. If it were that simple, nobody would be overweight. Instead, most people are.
I don't lift the weight because i am too broke to afford the gym of any equipment honestly but i have lost 18kg weight by some home workout and 15k steps walking with diet. Yes i struggle to even lose 2kg weight for 2 monts because of bad letting myself go on food but when it comes to walking, ive been consistent. Walking is the best excercise you could do even if you are broke as fuk.
Walking isn't magic. If you have a high body fat percentage it means you aren't active in relation to your fuel intake. Walking is just an easy way to move in a standardized mode that is easily achievable and trackable. You could just as easily do chores, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. The point is to be more active for the current quantity of food you eat.
You might be eating too little for all that activity & you’re not adequately fueling your body. That was my experience and when I included a little more calories, the weight dropped so much easier. Look up “reverse dieting” for some information on how to you can lose weight at a higher caloric intake without starving yourself. I’m eating way more now and I’m losing more weight than before. It’s amazing lol. I’m also focusing on high protein.
I can guarantee you are not tracking calories. I had this mistake, before covid I got obsessed with distance running. I was running 130km a week, people don’t believe me but I promise u that’s what I was doing. I thought I wasn’t eating many calories as I was also doing intermittent calories, I did get leaner but not much, and lost a lot of muscle Mass. in lockdown, I started counting calories in detail. I also added in walking running when I was allowed to, over the course of 15 weeks I started at 3500 calories/ day and 20 km cardio per week. By the end I had dropped calories to 2500 calories per day and 60 km cardio. My weight dropped from 85kg down to 75kg. My body fat went from around 18% down to sub 10 for the first time in my life.for you, you sound like me ore covid, assuming your calories are low without tracking. Track them and I guarantee u will lose body fat
I’ve never. Counted my calories! I usually eat either OmAD. Or two meals! I used to eat 6 eggs everyday ! I cut back to3 with one cup of egg whites! Greek yogurt blueberries!

I recommend training every major muscle group for the best results and proper muscle maintenance as you lose fat. On top of your full-body training, you can add walks and some cardio to further enhance calorie burn🏆

Please make a video on keto , carnivore and marketed diets spreading alot of mis information I have adopted all these shitty things even IF and lost weight as well but in result got depression and unsustainability a guy next to me is making way more healthy muscles by eating carbs and all things. please enlighten us.
I am addicted to your channel bro i have watched all your videos in three days lol 😀
Great idea about making a video on keto, I will put it on the ideas list!
Thank you so much for your support, I am happy to hear you are enjoying the channel!😁
You are appreciated :)
Bro your awesome 💯❤️
Thank you!
I walk 13-16k steps a day, am 51 years old, on 1900 cals a day but my body fat percentage does not drop below 23% for over 6 months. SHould I be eating more to kick start my metabolism?
its been a while since I fully watched a video greater than 1 minute in length haha
Haha nice! Glad you like it!
Good video man!
Appreciate it!
From my personal experience I started a hit running session for 45 min, 5 km , 5 days per week and my legs muscles have increased a lot just from running!! The leg muscles do not decrease with running I do not know where you found this survey! If you see professional runners or footballers their legs have a lot of muscle because of running.
i don't like the outside that much and i don't have a treadmill so what about walking in place?
It's possible! Walking around the house is another option :)
Try the JumpRope. It works!
What about cycling ? Will it loose muscle ?
A few key points to consider:
Stress, sleep maybe. If not try reducing 100 calories more for 2 weeks. If you loss fat. Then the problem was your maintenance was to high.
What is the best settings for walking on the treadmill for an hour?
At least 3%. You can do some variation up to 12 percent so up and down. Enjoy!
The specific settings will be different per machine. As a general guideline, have an intensity of effort of 5-6 on a scale of 1-10. So a nice paced walk, but nothing exhausting💪🏼
excellent video. best on walking to lose weight
Thank you!
What are the time periods for the progress pictures?
If you’re working out for an hr 3-4 times A DAY, you’re not consuming enough calories so your body will most likely
hold onto fat. You might be in too much of a calorie deficit
@@ss76461
I think he meant 3-4 times a week not a day 🤔
How long does this transformation take?
How about inclined walk?
Works great too! You actually burns 20% more calories walking on an incline :)
I walk two hours per day.
Alright, nice!💪🏼
Tell me how its been with your body broo
Are you in Vancouver? Nice video.
The Netherlands! Thank you :)
Sorry for yesterday. Football's coming home!!!!
The only odd problem I have is that walking causes my right knee to flare up (I had surgery back in 2020), whereas jogging doesn't.
I see! Light jogging might be a better option in this case.
If jogging does not hurt but walking does, you are walking wrong. You have a different stride pattern when you walk compared to running. Go to a coach that will check you stride and do the corrective excersise they give you after diagnosis. Cheers
@@iWannaBurnFat
Yeah, I'm just aiming for zone-2 cardio.
@@scanbear9863
I walk really fast and I believe the pain comes from internal scar tissue from the surgery I mentioned.
Appreciate your help ,will do 😅
Happy to help!
Fantastic video! What should be the gap (in time) between workouts and walks? Thanks
Thank you! Walking can be done any time, post-workout is my favorite time :)
The data I showed about how many calories you burn walking/running a mile is based on the following experimental study:
📚Wilkin, L.
Hey bro would it help adding weight when im walking
Yes! Walking with a weighted vest helps increase calorie burn because you (of course) have to carry more weight while walking. So if you want to enhance your calorie burn, wearing a weighted vest is awesome💪🏼
You are a god for this information
Happy to help! :)
How do you look like that just from walking only? I've been down to 140lbs and my body never looked like that.
Check the full video! The walking is a progress accelerator. If you add walking on top of a calorie deficit and consistent lifting weights, you will see great results :)
I walk and play pokemon go all the time 💪🏿💪🏿
I used to run ! Then I got arthritis in my hip! I needed surgery!I go walking between 10’000 or around 12 or more in a day! With weight lifting ! I miss running! Because walking it seems like it takes so long for me to reach my 10’000 steps!
The exclamation points are strong with this one
if you use the treadmill for walking, what is the speed cut-off to maximise fat loss? Or is it just fast enough that you don't start to breathe heavy?
5.5
Inclination 6
î am really wondering how much it costs for that online coaching

Hey, thinking of starting recomp (not been working out for quite some time now)
should i calculate maintainence at current status (little or no exercise) or keeping i mind that i would be working out 4-5 times a week and subsequently add a 10/20% deficiet to either one
if your job has you running or walking that’s another great benefit! I worked for 6 hours yesterday and i counted 7.8 miles in running/walking and burned 310 calories
Yes, true!
Great video
Thanks!
Are u Peruvian? 🤔
Originally from Morocco! :)
Yesterday I did 41k steps. Most I’ve ever done but it’s not something to do everyday. I try to average 15k-20k. Great video btw!
How many hours are you walking?
@@PTstuimproveshimself Its a lie. You will not walk your weight off.
@@krane15 it takes me 1 hour to walk 3 miles. Which is 6k steps. Walking does cause fat loss. Are you following my posts or something?
It would take about 7-8 hours
@@lesterhalfjunior721 this guy must not have a job or a family
I think walking is good but cant out do a run its done in a shorter time frame and feels more effective for example me i just wanna be skinny I dont think wallong is Powerful enough to do that
IDE say jump roping is even better🎉
My brother-in-law has been a daily runner for years and looks about 10 years older than his age, has a big pot belly and no muscle tone whatsoever!
Interesting! Walking won't have that effect.
Hey Man What's Your Age Height and Weight ? 🖐️🖐️
Perfect Mounir. Perfect
Thank you!
Great video thank you 🙌
My pleasure!
Guy at 6:15 literally lost visible muscle . Was he not lifting weights ? His Lean looked like he shrinked by losing body fat as well as muscles...
I only run 1 minute of high intensity 3 times, run 1 minute and rest 1, 3 times.
but I will try
My trainer had me running twice a week for 40 minutes to an hour you will lose weight . Walking is good as well but running you going to lose those pounds that fat quicker
Yup and fuel yourself afterwards with fruit and creatine to recover from breaking down muscles/fat!
I’m watching this with volume down and I noticed every time when he talk that his mannerisms with his arms always look like he flexin in the mirror 😂
very underrated channel.
Thank you!
I prefer cycling as i do 15Kms cycling in in 1 hr around 12-13 kmph. Its less tiring and fun.
Cycling is exercise, provide its at a brisk pace. Waling is locomotion, not exercise. If it were that simple, nobody would be overweight. Instead, most people are.
I'm a nurse. I walk 12 hrs a day.. but no 6 pack.. 😂 why?
It's about setting the without method that relies in the using the stores fuel you want to reduce.

Whilst walking fasted would be more beneficial
impossible just by walking i do that+riding bike non stop and eat nothing or healthy 5 days and cant even go under 20%
You might be eating too little for all that activity & you’re not adequately fueling your body.
Add Strength training
That's actually incorrect about a mile of walking cals. It burns 100+ cals just like a mile of running. The only difference is the time it takes.
Walking to lose weight is a lie.
When fitness guys references don't matter anymore just personal experience matters the most 😂😂😂
I’ve never. Counted my calories! I usually eat either OmAD. Or two meals! I used to eat 6 eggs everyday ! I cut back to3 with one cup of egg whites! Greek yogurt blueberries!
I combine jog walk 30mins daily and lost already 5 kgs for 3 weeks no diet at all i even drink my fav. Coke zero lol and i lift weights once a week
Cardio zone 2 the best
So walk?
I heard the anwser in the first 10 seconds. Moving on.
