I agree with all of this, the gm lifter trays hold their lifters extremely tight which keeps them true and straight. The gm lifters do suffer from internal issues that cause collapsing. No biggie just delete the afm on the gm and don’t have cylinder shutdown.
What’s funny is most people say that the hemi lifter/cam failures are from lack of lube, I know that they get a ton of oil directly on the roller/cam. It’s not a lube issue

Not necessarily, if you get trays that ALL hold the lifters snug then you have a good chance of not having a failure
