Iftekhar was an indian actor and singer who is well known for his role as Police Officer, Iftekhar was born on 22 February 1924 in Jalandhar Punjab.
He studied painting from Lucknow college of arts, he taught painting to legendary actor Ashok Kumar. Iftekhar played police officer as well as
Many other characters and some time he worked as a villain in hindi cinema like deewar, bandini, khel khel mein , agent vinod, and sawan badon.
Iftikhar Ahmed was lead actor in your during golden age of bollywood. Over all in his career Iftikhar worked in more than 400 films.

Besides Deewaar and Zanjeer, he had character roles in many of the classics of 1960s, 1970s, 1980s Bollywood cinema like
Bimal Roy's Bandini, Raj Kapoor's Sangam, Manoj Kumar's Shaheed, Teesri Manzil, Teesri Kasam, Johny Mera Naam, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Don, The Gambler (1971 film), Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978) and Sholay, to name but a few.
Apart from Hindi films, he appeared in two episodes of the American TV series Maya in 1967 as well the English language films Bombay Talkie (1970) and City of Joy (1992).

Mind- Blowing list of Hindi cinema films, that Iftekhar, the Bollywood policeman appeared.
From the longest span of 1937 to 1993, ( the peak of Hindi cinema 🎥), Iftekhar biography is truly the biography of whole Bollywood. It will touch almost all of Hindi cinema actors of the period mentioned.
Iftekhar probably appeared in several hundred movies, with quite prominent roles. But about 100 of them that I must have watched, always haunt me, with soul- piercing face of Iftekhar police.
