i'm in absolute shock that this song was released in 2003, i did some digging and found out that the pear-shaped line wasn't in the original 1990 book... so either there's the minute possibility that neil gaiman knew of this song and included the line in the show, or the universe just aligned ineffably for this song to work as well as it does
