I've carried a satin blade full size Infidel since 2009. Not had any issues with it though I am careful to ensure no coins, dirt, lint get up into the handle while it's in my pocket. Very very lightly oil and carefully hit with a leather strop every few months and it always stays razor sharp. I'm careful not to cut anything that would damage/dull the blade as I've got a key chain knife for routine daily use. I want it to stay ready for personal protection should I ever need it.
I have owned, and carried, an Infidel for 7+ years now. Not once in that entire time has it ever failed to deploy or retract properly (and, after 7 years, I'm talking 1000's of times!). Only problem I've encountered, after about year 6, was a stiffness to the actuating "button." A few drops of "Release" brand knife lubricating oil fixed the problem.
I've had mine for 3 years and dropped every type of lubricant in it you can think of as well as grease and even the powder dry lube. Never failed opening or closing. I also have a Ultratech. Which I'm told is a "real "OTF. If you don't use a lubricant with viscosity approaching distilled water it won't open up. I'm glad I have it and not looking to get rid of it or anything, but I wouldn't buy another one. I'd definitely get another Infidel even if it's the same color as the one I got.
Bought one about a year ago and it no longer comes with the sheath. I also had an issue with the action failing a month ago and had to send it back to Benchmade for warranty work.
No, just go on google and type in benchmade life sharp or service request. It will ask you some questions and then you pay the shipping to benchmade. But they will repair it, sharpen it and they will pay to ship it back to you@@kentuckysmoose
Is there a good budget OTF? It's a real question and not some sarcastic rhetorical comment. I know the $50 ones are crap. Bit I've seen a few of the $200-250 that are kind of cool on the surface. Just wonder if they're closer to the Infidel than they are to the microtech knockoffs in quality.
I have a Infidel and Microtech Ultratech. I have been told several times that im a moron for getting the infidel and that i really know my shit for getting the Ultratech. That microtech blade comes out with more authority. No doubt about it. But it is a diva of a knife. None of the oils or greases i use on my guns are good for it. I have to use some weird blend of lubes the store I got it from came up with. Which works great. But a needless inconvenience. That Infidel is not as light or as sleek as the Ultratech. But that blade has come out every single time and ive used every type of lubricant on it. Even the dry graphite powder stuff. They have the same length handle but the infidel has anothet inch of blade. Microtech has the glass breaker but ive only used it once. At the junk yard to test it out. Works fine but i have a 9mm i carry, keep a hammer in the car, i live in NM in the desert so there is always rocks nearby. When i got my Infidel i also bought my daughter one. Her first OTF. Every year i get her a gucci knife for her birthday. Shes really into them. So far ive got her the Infidel, the Autocrat, and the microtech Dirac. Dirac is kind of like the infidel but prettier. Same type of button location and coffin shaped grip. She usually carries a Benchmade Auto Fact and one of her push daggers for an actual weapon. Shes a big believer in fixed for people and non-fixed for things. The ultratech cost me $320 and the infidel cost $425. Even at the $500 MSRP for the infidel i would still consider it a better purchase. Also that Autocrat I was a little skeptical about because of its G10 handle. But that was the one she wanted. It has turned out to be very durable and as reliable as the infidel. The infidel is old, its heavy, and has no elegance to it. Id like to try out some more OTF's but theyre not cheap and the cheap ones are a waste of money. That $50 can go to a less complicated knife that is still quality instead. But so far the Infidel is the way to go for me. Im considering buying one of the mini ones for no good reason at all. Wish i got the the fixed one when they were making it.
Yeah my first thought was I couldn't believe I just paid that much for this knife. But then I pulled out my two favorite guns. A HK SP5 and my Beretta M9A1 with a Gemtech suppressor. Placed the Infidel with them. First thought after that was there is no other knife that is worthy. Also the reason they are my two favorite guns is because my only other ones are a shotgun , AR15 and my Walther P99AS. So I'm not rich and the price of an Infidel hits me like any normal person would be hit by it. But like you I sure do love it and if that's all you got after one of the dumbest purchases of your life then you're doing pretty good.
A lil late to the party, though nice review!! The only suggestion that I'd make is to wear a lighter shirt cuz when you dropped the knives down in front of your shirt, you couldn't see them as even the lighter Mini-Freak blended in with your shirt. Between your dark shirt, dark knives combined with the low lighting, it was very tough to really see the knives. Easy fix as your presentation is excellent and I will be subscribing, and as former Federal LE, I find the vast vast majority of these YTube knife videos a joke versus how a knife is deployed in the real world(I was in an undercover role for two+ years in which time I was involved in three knife/Punch Dagger altercations). Your video was a breadth of fresh air🤙 Stay Well, Stay Safe & Continued Success Brotha👊 RP

Same infidel over the 7 years? I just ordered mine yesterday.
Thanks for the positive reply!

Most underrated channel ever
RJG haha thanks for the kind words bro! Welcome 👊🏼
I just got my Infidel for 150. Pretty cool knife. I'd definitely never pay full price for one though

I got a 3300bk today and I’m super stoked to finally own this tool 💪🦅
how much did you pay for yours ?
$550
Kind of difficult to see a black knife against a black shirt in a dimly lit room. I like the content though.
I have the same knife and after limited carrying it struggles to close. Wished I knew what to do about it. Feels dry inside.
Um, lubricate it?
Lube it or send it to benchmade to be repaired/ maintenanced
@@HaydenZ06 do i need my receipt because i lost it a few years ago but im having the same issue

@@kentuckysmoose You do not need your receipt, just get ahold of 'em and send that puppy in.
Great job on 100 dude 100 more and you’ll pass me up
JayPizzle thank you sir! 🍻
Could you do a review for a good budget OTF knife?
Absolutely man! Thanks for dropping by 💪🏼

Is this legal in Canada I want one bad

I've carried one for years and the only problem I've ever had is every once in awhile I'll have a coin get stuck in the tip of it and it won't open
I’ve had my infidel going on 3 years now .. it is the staple of auto otf knives ..
100% agree
Microtech is better steel better materials same price or less
@@justinhorn2864yeah but they look cheap. Gas station knives. They are nice, but look toyish.
@@jeromebullard6123uhh no John wick uses one
I love this. So elegant
Double illegal in Holland... 😢
But very neat knife 😊
Got to love the podium jimping. (BladHQ came up with that name, not me) Love my Infidel.
As someone who has carried an infidel for years… Is it practical? Not really. Is it worth $500? Probably not. Would I buy it again? Most likely

Nice. I'm in Sandy.
perhaps microtech ultratech is the best
I own both and I wouldn’t say either is better than the other. The infidel feels better in the hand.
My brother owns this knife it is pretty sweet
It’s a cool toy; but I carry winkler fixed blade every day on my belt or kit. Way better tools.

Hard to see.
Why microtech hate so much infidel?
Lighting too dark on product. nice video otherwise
Or.... if you're like me and don't care.... lol I carry mine everyday.
Microtech better steel, better made better quality materials. That knife would should be 275-300
Eh I like the phaeton better
me too, the phaeton is lightweight and deploys so smooth
tf are you going to do with a blade length under 6 inches? gtfo lmao
Are you dumb?
Let's see how you do against one
