Kind of an odd comment considering he was called out and it took a few seconds and who would buy an RV if not even one of most americans could sleep in the bed?
Andrea’s right about the pantry. That would make it so much better. Also, dump the dinette. You have the seats in the cab and can add a table there. Put theater seating where you have the dinette and it’s in perfect TV watching position. Dump the uncomfortable couch under the Murphy and add storage for soft stuff like linens, cushions, clothes, bread, potato chips, etc. (so when you bring down the Murphy you don’t have a lot of junk clunking around, but you do have a bit more storage). If you do all that this unit is PERFECT for folks who want a small RV that they could live in full-time if they wanted. One more thing: if you turn the Murphy sideways (N-S instead of E-W), you could probably use it without having the slide out when you need to.
When the Murphy bed is stored, the space behind the sofa begs for some kind of covering. Drapes? Slide to make a wall? The framed print on a slanted wall just doesn't cut it. Nice RV. Good review.
Thanks, Steve if you are reading this. We love the 24.4, but I still say it needs a 12-volt compressor fridge for us sun worshippers who are using 450-watts of solar and 2-4 LIFPO4 lithium batteries camp hosting in the national forest where we don't want to drive the motorhome to town every week or two to refill the LP. We can haul occasional gasoline for the generator and yes we can install a Stay Awhile on the L.P. tank to swap out 20# bottles, but the main reason for the 12-volt compressor fridge option is to not have frozen lettuce or soft icecream while enjoying twice the interior fridge storage. I know several of your competitors have this type of fridge on the sprinter chassis, so if it was an option, you would hit it out of the ballpark for us, or at least give us reason to find a food pantry without worrying about fridge options. At 10,000' we have had our L.P. fridge pilot light blow out a few times in those mountain winds, resettable, but when the flame goes out enough times you can easily panic wondering if your ice cream just melted again. Keep up the good work!!! Quality on Thor seems to be improving with the fit and finish of the cabinetry over several years ago. My kudos to the factory, we love it. I have to say we have a 2020 24.1 Thor Axis and we absolutely love it!! Now, why Thor did away with the outside tv/stereo, is beyond us. We use ours ALL the time! @@nwjeepgirl Hello Jerri, I have no safety concerns driving this unit. There is actually a fairly large dash in front of the driver and passenger. I have added an aftermarket steering stabilizer and Sumo Springs that just replace the tiny, cheap, factory front bump stops. This makes it much more stable at highway speeds and cross winds. I have also added windshield window tinting (legal in Florida) to help with reflecting strong sun heat and UV rays. I really like this. We don’t watch TV so that’s not an issue for us. We do play board games, cards and do puzzles, so the large dinette is great. I like that it sleeps 6 and the storage is awesome. I do agree removable shelves in one of the wardrobes would be nice. Love the light cabinetry and the large desk at the passenger seat. 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve always liked these hybrid A/C mix. The basement storage is really small. Andrea Kim says your dress is really pretty. We play cards/board games both at home and when camping, although we play more when camping. Matt we’ll be practicing Uno for the Matt’s RV rally in January! The TV placement is terrible. This is more of a pull out couch than Murphy bed. This would be a decent weekend camper, but taking this for weeks at a time camping would not be comfortable.
Funny thing about warning labels. In the 60s a cars owner’s manual included how to adjust the timing belt. Today’s owner’s manual warns you not to drink the water in the battery. Go figure.
We still like our Axis 2018 25.4 better. It’s just 3 feet longer but, the bed is not foldable. When we travel and want to take a nap we just stop at a rest area, turn on the AC and hit the bed. No need to fold and unfold. The other thing that we love the most is that the vanity and hand washer is in the middle of the side where we have all the space we need to use it. That one is in a tiny corner which we can see how uncomfortable it will be to use it. We also have much more space to use the toilet. So far so good only minor fixing but other than that solid vehicle.
We loved our Vegas 24.1. My sis bought ours and her and her hubby are living in it. The 24.4 floorplan has a nicer bath and more room overall. Thor must sell a bunch of these.
It’s cute! My friend has a Thor Compass, and this looks a lot like that RV, but with a better bathroom, an extra bed, and enough power for a tow’d. love it! 🥰
3 things we like, #1 Gonna go with F&T Kinsella, Steve from Thor taking the time....this is a manufacturer that is in touch!!!!! #2 Front seating, swivel seats (that could take the place of the dinette) and view from the windows.......#3 Decor, Art Deco Picture 😛 storage and color (light=spacious). 3 things we do not like.....#1 The murphy bed/couch/slide......#2 Shower walls should be smooth......combo with curtain....#3 Fridge/stove, should be 12vdc compressor and Induction Stove Top....Lithium batteries and Solar!!!!! Did not mention the slide in the Like/Dislike, but dislike slides. This floor plan could be so different if it was planned without a slide, but am sure they are trying to tune this to families and space.
Very nice but switch the couch and dining table keeping bed above table might be a better set up. Also extend counter and make pull out pantry at first closet keeping second wardrobe into bathroom area. Didn't notice any storage under dining bench but it might be acceptable from outside. As for the price might be a little higher than traditional class C. Overall I do like it for the shorter length. Thank you Matt & Andrea for sharing this RV.
Likes: CCC, large dining table, and counter space. Dislikes: Exterior twist locks, no ladder, no tankless water heater, and water connections should be behind a lockable cover.
Three Likes: Roomy, good kitchen prep, great bathroom/cargo capacity. Three Dislikes: Storage seems skimpy, 16" tires (I'm wondering if you can put a bigger tire on the unit if you want????....sorry, I'm a girl and don't know these things!), that's it. Not much to dislike. Plus it's a great interior look.
I was going to comment about tire size looked small for the size. Can only imagine if you have a blowout while driving might not be good. Earlier comment stated about upgrading the frontend which was should be done.
Move the sofa to the dinette area.Get rid of the dinette all together. Put a removable table in front of the sofa for dining. I don’t know about the mattress but most RV mattresses are hard. If you put a good mattress on that bed will it still fold up? Put a pantry in it. It needs a ladder to get to the roof. I didn’t see cab doors. Did I miss them?
I was very happy to see a review of a small Class A. My wife and I are looking for something to live in when I retire, and a full size Class A just seems too large. Too large to drive, to park, and to maintain. However, if this rig is typical, it is just too small. We haven't started looking at Class C motorhomes yet, but I suspect that will be the way we go. The reason this coach is too small actually has nothing to do with the physical dimensions. We require a full-time bed. We already know that a bed that needs to be unfolded is just not going to work for us. No, neither of us plan to sleep on it while the coach is in motion. We just can't wrap our heads around a bed that has to be made every time we stop and un-made every time we start moving again. But thanks for the review. This helped us out a lot!
My ideal would be a shortie Class A with rear engine gas motor and airbag suspension. Dropped rail chassis for low step-in height and low CG. Think GMC motor home but backwards.
This is a nice small Class A. For it being small it has nice size storage. My dislikes are the wardrobe by the refrigerator should be made into a pantry. Don’t like the tv placement. And the stove cover. I love the storage and the floor plan. I love the dinette. Thank you Matt and Andrea for shoring this Axis.
Matt the more videos I watch the more confuse I get.. I'll just keep watching because I enjoy the way guys give your honest opinion... I do know that I want a C Class under 25 ft , NO slide out and that I prefer a new one......Thanks for the great content !
100% that 1st cabinet needs removable shelves or (even better imho) pull-out shelves because kitchen storage is seriously lacking! I would prefer flipping the bed & & dinette in the floor plan or optioning it with reclining theater seats instead of dinette, that would fix the TV placement problem. I do really like the concept. This is a "class A" I'd definitely feel comfortable with. BTW, what is the actual bed capacity?
Sorry Thor, but the incorrect sticker could cost you some sales. If the bed can hold two normal sized people you should let the buyers know. I like this RV. I like the layout and the interior, but agree with Andrea on the lack of removable shelves in the closet.
Dislikes: too little outside storage. Could steal some of that bathroom storage for outside. The living room needs to all be together. Take out that banquette, put in theater seats. Then the front seats and theater seating are together. And I prefer a 12v fridge. Likes: overall size! Spacious bathroom. Travel accessibility.
Need to switch the sofa/bed with the dinette. That way you can watch TV on the sofa during the day or in bed before snoozing. Also, I'd swap the shower location with the cabinet wall in the bathroom and then put a combo/washer dryer prep in the cabinet. Swapping the shower/cabinet to balance the weight with the fridge.
I like the idea of a smaller size class A (even if it’s technically a wannabe) combo with the big cargo capacity, the overhead bunk is cool 500 lb is coolER, and the dinette is great (big table is excellent) .. I wish it had a combo washer (goes with the class A image - and I’d take it if it was an extra cost option), yeah I agree with Matt the TV position completely sucks (maybe have sliding barn style doors on both wardrobes and mount the TV on one of them - it slides in front of the fridge if the guys sleeping in the dinette want it ), and the mattress on the bed looks pretty thin (I think a thicker one will fit and it’s a cheap improvement ) .. good one M/A
I like the long wheelbase will definitely help the drive. I do not like the layout the dinette and bed need to switch positions. And then the seats under the bed need to be recliners/theatre seating. Like the large window by the sink but do not like the lack of range hood.
Matt, you haven't played UNO until you have played with my in- laws. We need 2 combined decks and spouses MAY NOT sit next to each other. Thank you, Steve for answering Matt's question.
European layout with the bed n-s in the back then split bath, next the kitchen on the driver's side with a forward facing bench seat for two, then the table. The captain's chairs swivel to face the table. Fridge with oven on top and entry door on the passenger side. No slide outs; because they aren't working in this plan anyway and aren't needed for the European plan. In the Euro plan you can order twin beds in back which frees up a foot of the length. Manufaker take note.
Glad the bed capacity is wrong. Duh! I like the shower curtain for my claustrophobic self. Lousy TP placement. So many things to love (color, design, back bathroom) and dislike (what you said). Put the TV in the living/bed room! There's room in the cabinet especially with the bathroom cabinet, too. And, the kitchen would have another cabinet since there's no pantry.
Cant sleep on the bed with the slideout in and that engine and chassis are a pain to work on why winnebago did away with their Via version, like the OCC though on that chassis but would get it on the class c platform easier to work on and service down the road..been there done that
Nice unit. Don't really like the murphy bed. Don't really like the TV position. Don't really like the bathroom. It could use some sort of door. Prime pooping position, yes, but prefer to do that in privacy. Everything else is likeable. Not loveable, but likeable. 2 questions. Do they still make a " no slide " version? Does anyone make a wheelchair accessible motorhome, like with a wheelchair lift? Great review
Thumbs up for the video, thumbs down for the product. I'm glad Steve cleared up the warning label for the Murphy bed was wrong, but it would have been nice if he had actually stated the load capacity. However, if the bed is as flimsy as the dinette table, it might not matter. I don't understand the market for these shoebox motorhomes. It's as if the design team said "Here's ten pounds of stuff. Now put it in this five pound box anywhere it will fit." For me, the lack of a washer/dryer, pantry storage, and limited external storage make this a weekend or holiday motorhome. I would rather load everyone up in the van and stay at a hotel rather than invest over $150K for this. I would use the van to drive to the points of interest. I would never give this motorhome a second glance and would set my sights considerably higher.
I would love to talk or at least get a reply from MATT but after weeks of sending messages to him i still dont get replys so why join his subscriptions site???
Love Thor's Axis!! We play uno with the little robot! But wait No ladder to the roof!!?? Is that optional? Loved Steve's "NEW Sticker" and Back to the Future Reference!! 👍😂
DANG Matt is rough on those drawers! He SLAMS them open! LOL!!! And Andrea, GOD BLESS YOU for pushing the RV industry to end the ugly valances! It is like they go out of their way to make them as ridiculously ugly as possible. Like its an inside joke. Please also push RV makers to place TVs where people can see it without turning their heads 90 degrees! A lot of people travel in RVs (not just a weekend camping trip), and actually do watch the TV.
This would be a good contender - I mostly like this model. I'd like a shower door vs curtain, and better stove top, the burners seemed to be too close together. Other than that, the TV placement wouldn't be a deal breaker, we don't watch TV anyway - but for families that do, I can see this is definitely an issue. I know....they planned it so there is MORE time for playing UNO! Great Review Matt and Andrea as usual!
Agree, what's with the shower curtains in many of Thor RV's? Also, it would be a great with an induction cooktop and 12 volt fridge, but the again people who boondock probably like the propane options. We almost always camp at spots that have electricity, so we'd be great with 12 volt and induction.
I love the price and everything about it it's actually almost a wanna purchase except for the shower curtain how do you stop your water from getting on the floor with that curtain taking a shower.
Thor needs to make an RV where driver and passenger seats turn 180 degrees to face the back of the RV. The seats need to recline and have leg rests. There should be tray tables that flip up out of the arm rests.
You MUST try Quirkle! I learned of it on the cover of a catalog of educational novelties. I have purchased no less than seven of this game and given as gifts. Two to four players. Best ever.
Uggh still 2ft too long for our driveway. Still waiting for a 22ft class A. We’ll keep dreaming. We live in San Francisco Bay Area and length is a problem.
A Class A motorhome is a motorhome built on a bare chassis where the RV maker builds the whole body, a Class C is a hybrid where the cab comes from the auto maker and the house is built by the RV manufacturer. This is a 'true Class A' regardless of whether it's an E series or an F53. Also, as a sales person (Matt not me), telling people this is the RV for people scared of bigger RVs isn't a great selling point. Say this is a smaller RV you can take down more roads and get into more campgrounds.
Matt nailed it for me. Looking for a Murphy bed floorplan, but need a better cargo carrying capacity then a Sprinter chassis RV? OCCC of 2975 lbs vs a Sprinter OCCC of 1000 lbs or less. Obvious tradeoff is not having the little diesel of a sprinter chassis, but the price point may make it worth consideration.
One huge fault to me is putting the TV in the kitchen area where you'd actually have to turn your neck to look at it. I would much rather have it in the bed area
Hi everyone. The correct weight sticker for the bed reads 500lbs. Thanks for watching and the feedback. Steve from TMC.
Are both the murphy and the over-the-head beds 500 lbs rated? Or if it's just got the 2 labels swapped?
Thanks Steve 😊

Likes:
CCC, large dining table, and counter space.
Dislikes:
Exterior twist locks, no ladder, no tankless water heater, and water connections should be behind a lockable cover.
I love boardgames everywhere I go. Im always looking for big tables for big boardgames. I love all the storage throughout the RV, even over the door.
My dream RV! I’m such a fan of the Axis & the Vegas. I want one so bad. Now if I could just win that lottery….🤔
That was really cool to have Steve from Thor on here! Great sticker!
My ideal would be a shortie Class A with rear engine gas motor and airbag suspension. Dropped rail chassis for low step-in height and low CG.
Think GMC motor home but backwards.
I'll take a 28' version of this sled; Need the bed/sofa in the front to be able to view the TV; Need a bigger shower.; bigger TV
A nice unit for a solo traveler and/or mobile office. Two people would have to really like each other or this just a mobile hotel room for them.
This is just right. Hopefully, the sales price will come down. In words of Kirk Cousins " you like that ". Welcome back to Texas 👍😂
Be great to have an upscale, feature packed shortie Class A.
I don't care for Murphy beds, so I much prefer the floorplan of the 24.1 - in spite of its layout.
My wife almost purchased one a few years ago. She liked the driveability of it.
Matt the more videos I watch the more confuse I get.. I'll just keep watching because I enjoy the way guys give your honest opinion... I do know that I want a C Class under 25 ft , NO slide out and that I prefer a new one......Thanks for the great content !
Like the floor plan. Disappointed in the outside storage and kitchen storage. Decor is nice. Had a 2016 Axis and really enjoyed it. Love the dinette.
U can't help but to love these 2
100% that 1st cabinet needs removable shelves or (even better imho) pull-out shelves because kitchen storage is seriously lacking!
Lol .. Steve. He reminds me of the Governor from TWD 🤣😂
You need a furby mick cover to help with the wind
Bahaha very cute save Steve!😉
Wow, I love this!!! Awesome having this smaller size in an A class!! Love the interior. Nice job, lighter.
I love playing scrabble, monopoly, uno, dominoes and mancala.
Love the Andrea Approved sticker!!!
Love this axis. Would like to see more of the smaller motor homes. This one is perfect.
Thank you.
Love ALL your videos Matt & Andrea… But the tv is in an ok spot, it just needs a multi direction pivot point so it can face the front of the tv too
Uno, checkers, monopoly and Dominos. Love to play table games! Nice Axis but a little big for me.
Love these , been looking for a used ,old one , nobody lets them go .
I would love to talk or at least get a reply from MATT but after weeks of sending messages to him i still dont get replys so why join his subscriptions site???
The drivers seat seemed very limited in movement/space with the slide in. Didn’t show like you usually do.
Love Thor's Axis!! We play uno with the little robot! But wait No ladder to the roof!!?? Is that optional? Loved Steve's "NEW Sticker" and Back to the Future Reference!! 👍😂
We don’t play board games because my wife CHEATS on playing board games.
I like this. Would like an outdoor kitchen or a place to plug in cooler and coffee pot out side. King bed would put it over the top.
I've seen that you have to tear the dash apart on the passenger side to replace the chassis battery.
The TV really is in the wrong place.
If the capacity is wrong at 250lb what is it?
That is a good question.
Just enough for one adult. Maybe? LOL.
I was going to ask that as well.
Love to play cards with friends.
I love the price and everything about it it's actually almost a wanna purchase except for the shower curtain how do you stop your water from getting on the floor with that curtain taking a shower.
not bad good to see you guys keep on doin great reviews buying soon only going to call Matt's Rv reviews
We play board games and cards at home and camping!
They should swap the dinette and couch locations, that way the couch would be useful.
I love this RV, wish I could afford it.
Lmao
That was funny .
I like it Steve.
Love your videos. Thorough walkthroughs and valid opinions. Also, you both are adorable and fun to watch =)
Thor needs to make an RV where driver and passenger seats turn 180 degrees to face the back of the RV. The seats need to recline and have leg rests. There should be tray tables that flip up out of the arm rests.
You guys are the best
I really like your honesty
You MUST try Quirkle!
I learned of it on the cover of a catalog of educational novelties.
I have purchased no less than seven of this game and given as gifts.
Two to four players.
Best ever.
I didn't like that there wasn't a washer dryer hookups.
Uggh still 2ft too long for our driveway. Still waiting for a 22ft class A. We’ll keep dreaming. We live in San Francisco Bay Area and length is a problem.
Looks good. Thank you both. Excellent review as usual. Any idea what size the shower is?
A Class A motorhome is a motorhome built on a bare chassis where the RV maker builds the whole body, a Class C is a hybrid where the cab comes from the auto maker and the house is built by the RV manufacturer. This is a 'true Class A' regardless of whether it's an E series or an F53.
Also, as a sales person (Matt not me), telling people this is the RV for people scared of bigger RVs isn't a great selling point. Say this is a smaller RV you can take down more roads and get into more campgrounds.
👍 I love the Godzilla 👍
What did Steve say? Can't find the comment..
100,000 tops
Could you put a tv swivel where the mirror is net to couch?
UNO!!!!! My fav game! The only rule is to do whatever it takes to not let anyone else win, LOL!!!!
Uno Competition. We had sanctioned games, which often included an exchange of expletives, but fun all the same!
Why in the hell would anybody want an rv with a bed that small.
One huge fault to me is putting the TV in the kitchen area where you'd actually have to turn your neck to look at it.
I would much rather have it in the bed area
Dislikes: round kitchen sink, microwave is too low for us older people, and tv placment.
