Except for the carpet in the outside basements and on the slides, this is a beautiful RV! The decor, the storage and the floorplan are amazing - especially for such a small coach!
I like what Andrea likes! Andrea Approved is the real deal. Love the double sink, 3 burner stove, and bathroom. I don’t like the lack of outside storage, bedroom valances, and the cab carpet.
Hi guys great review I have the same model in a 2020 First of all the CCC can’t be right When I have mine fully loaded with a full tank of gas half tank of water and all the junk I usually take with me I’m just at 20,000 pounds and my GVW is 22,000 so I have 2000 pounds to spare after I have everything loaded The one storage bay that you couldn’t get open is pretty large I really don’t have any trouble taking anything I want to take Plus there’s storage under the couch and under the bed I think it’s a perfect floor plan and a perfect size to travel in I’ve had mine for two years and haven’t had any problems with it
Maybe I'm still too unfamiliar with RV Life, but here are my dislikes... 1) Generator right under the bed. Maybe it makes for great white noise? 2) Wet bay and dump station under slide outs (hard if not impossible to use with slide out?) 3) Fuse box in the bathroom. Something about having the electrical stuff in the one space that will have the most moisture just seems wrong. Nothing absolutely stood out for likes, but I really like everything about the interior.
Your not gonna believe this but the Cummins generator in them are pretty quiet when you are on the inside. Especially with the ac going. At least in my Winnebago.
As soon as they showed the fuse box in the bathroom, I thought, “Why?” I love the size of the vehicle - especially for parks - but the fuse box has me a little confused. Also, how are fumes from the generator vented if it’s right under the bedroom? Does the LR TV articulate fully so you can watch comfortably from the couch or theatre seats? Price also seems low. Where did they cut corners? I’ve seen regular spec vans/class b motorhomes for more. Of course, this is all coming from just being an observant UA-cam viewer. I have enough scratch for bubkis.
3 dislikes, dislike that the tv is not on a arm so you can pull it out and get it in front of the couch. Like Matt I dislike that at 200k the door is not on a friction hinge. The outside storage is really bad. But I love the lay out if the bedroom!! I like it better than our 30z! The paint job is beautiful. This is a really nice unit but I think they are way off on the price! As always you two did a great job showing this unit!!
I read a lot of complaint about the storage. Don’t forget guys, it’s only a 30 footer. And that’s the reason we went for the Canyon Star rather than the Baystar: to me, THE BEST RV FOR NATIONAL PARK. We just love our rig and it’s incredible how many people stop by asking question, especially when I open the back door to unload or load my motorcycle. That draws a lot of attention and good comments everywhere we go. BTW Matt, if I recall, you gave the Canyon Star only a small logo for the pooping position so I think you need to correct this. That’s the same space for both rigs. 😂
Hi Matt and Andrea! My dislikes are the sane as yours. Not enough storage outside. I’m like Matt not liking carpet in the storage unit. My likes are the desk tray in front on passenger side and love the storage and kitchen and the bedroom. Thank you Matt and Andrea.
Awesome showing guys🤩 I agree the color is fresh but whenever I see that dusty darkening in the corners of the cream cabinets I feel they need cleaning😁
According to Newmar brochure, cargo carrying capacity is 2,950 lbs. Based on that, Dislikes: Small exterior storage; Interior carpeting; Position of TV - would prefer televator; Headboard; Price (close to DPs). Likes: Interior storage; You didn’t show but it looks like it has an entrance door window shade you can operate without opening the door; Colors; Exterior door hold-open latch - I’ve had them before and they don’t rattle and I hate the friction door opening.
Knowing the price point this is ok. The lack of outside storage is good because it has a small cargo capacity. Overall for a one or two person trip it would work. I would not have a problem driving this.
Love the paint job (only a little brown). Dislikes: queen bed, CCC (less than my class C, deal breaker), tv position, no oven, close the door while on toilet! Likes: 22.5 tires, pass thru storage, tankless water heater, interior colors. Only based on reviews I've seen, I prefer Tiffen to Newmar. Additionally, we've been to numerous state/city parks with our 32 foot motorhome.
I was surprised by the very low cargo carrying capacity. After the driver and co-pilot, it really doesn't leave a lot of room (which is probably why they don't give you much exterior storage.)
A nice touch that I've not seen before, in the cabinetry above the dinette, where the center one is extended past the ones each side. And then the end cabinet with the different front. Makes it look much less utilitarian and more interesting; so many look like nothing better than a van-build set of cabinets.
Likes: Ladder, slam-latch basement storage doors, and the bed is useable with the slides in. Dislikes: Crossflex roof, no washer/dryer, small upper cabinet storage in the kitchen and no pull out drawers in the pantry.
I agree to an extent. It is nice to know that the door is 100% secure and only the clip gets you that. One downside is that you do have to step further out of the motorhome to unlatch the door and close it, which is admittedly a minor annoyance. It would have been nice of Newmar to put a nicer, heavier-weight clip on the door though. But yeah, given the choice between this and a friction hinge, I would choose this.
I like everything about this floorplan, although I’m not crazy about the farmhouse looking cabinetry, the extremely low CCC for this lightweight chassis and I would also prefer theater seating instead of a couch👍
@@ocny4468 Thank goodness. The low OCCC would have been an absolute dealbreaker for me. There are Sprinter B+/C models that have better payload than 1250 lbs.

Nice motorhome with really great features and trim. This level needs a TV and speakers outside. Really wish you would put the awnings out so we can see those. Also, you said 'solar' but did not show it with the camera.
First!!!!! Have to say I expected a lot more from a Newmar. The basement storage is horrible, the cockpit is really basic, disappointing to see all the carpet up front and on the slides. The dinette is nice. Decent counter space. Good looking bathroom, and like the position of the fuse boxes. Good pocket doors, and a decent bedroom. No drop down bunk over the cockpit either. Low CCC as well. Would expect more for over a 200k MSRP. There are better options out there that give you more for your $$$$
I'm not a fan of the shag carpeting "and everything" lol, lack of storage, #Second: what I don't like is the placement of the TV in the bedroom. Should've been centered to the bed. It almost looks like it's hiding. #3 yes, I have to agree, the lack of storage in the exterior. I did like the cab except for that carpeting. The carpeting destroys the look. I like that stove. The fact that it was hidden and everything. I do like the rustic farm look with the cabinets along with the flooring tile.
What were they thinking with that head board. The rest of the RV is a beautiful modern farm house, but the headboard is downright Victorian, also, the angle makes it uncomfortable to sit up and lean back while you read a book. Everything else I like

It's a nice looking coach, i like the decor, the kitchen, and the roomy bedroom. Too about the OCCC. 1200 lbs on a 30 foot bus? Unacceptable, veto, do not buy. Also I agree with Matt's anti dinette stance. Second couch and some TV trays please.
@@ocny4468 Hopefully, but it's really hard to confirm since manufacturers refuse to list their OCCC (except airstream). Some dealers will put the yellow sticker in their adds, but it's not common. Also, conversely, that'd be really high for a Class A gas.
Matt, the closet doors across from the bed don't sound like they belong in a $200 thousand dollar unit. Sounded like rattling junk when you closed them. I like the layout but expect better materials that last and help eliminate warranty claims. You two kids do a very nice review.
I like the floor plan but prefer to have more storage outside like you mentioned. I would not pay MSRP but would be interested oil the discount price was around $120k.

This is all any couple could need. Beautiful coach. with some issue. I agree about the poorly configured outside storage. Adding to that, I never want to see the generator on the passenger side. I absolutely hate the mouldings in the living area with the tacky lights. The moulding makes the kitchen feel so tight. Finally, what’s with the horrible valences in the bedroom? It doesn’t match the rest of the decor and makes windows seem so small. Likes: 30’ length, layout and bath. Final comment would be that due to the big moulding on the slide and placement of the electric panel in bathroom, I don’t think this would be comfortable for anyone over 5’8”.

Disappointing exterior storage AND total cargo capacity. I would like a heavier chassis (more cargo capacity) and more exterior storage. Would be great if there were an option for a washer/dryer combo without taking up the wardrobe.
I love Newmar Bay Stars but until they somehow increase the external storage they cannot be considered for long trips or serious boondocking, which is really just too bad.
