Slat wall install

We install a vertical mid century slat wall feature in a new build. The wall is made up of strips of reclaimed cedar that we salvaged from a farm yard - rather than barn board. The cedar is around 100 years old and has been milled by Two Birds Furniture for this particular application which is a really interesting contrast to the modern home where it's being installed. We've noticed a trend that some of our customers are leaning towards warmer woods like cedar and fir as opposed to the traditional gray barn board. I wanted to ask you a simple question about The wood slate Wall. Do you nail it directly in to The drywall?

Yes, we did! We also used a construction adhesive

SO you a nailing it to a sheetrock? I mean some of them will hit studs but rest is glue and nails into sheetrock?

Yes, pin nails and construction glue into the drywall is more than enough to hold these decorative pieces to the wall

What kind/brand of sealant did you use for the cedar?

On this project we used a product called Dead Flat, which is a water based sealant
