Jets fan here... liked the first 3 picks. Rest of the draft is a dart throw like every other teams. If any of your 4th to 7th rounders hit, you stepped in sh!t. Overall, I liked what JD did this offseason. They can still add some veteran depth in OL and WR rooms. It's playoffs or bust this year. I was in the camp of getting one of the top 3 WRs. If not possible, pivot to OL. If AR plays most of the season, we'll be good.

    Jets fan here:
    - They tried to trade up for Odunze but they couldn’t get anyone to agree.
    - They took 2 RBs because we only have 2 RBs on the roster and we carried 4 on the 53 man roster last year
    - We didn’t take that many WRs because we still have Lazard (not the greatest but hoping ARod will help him return to form) + there’s been rumors Corey Davis could come back.
All in all not the most exciting draft but still hit on needs and got some good UDFA

As a Jets fan, I mostly agree with your take here. I was a Bowers Bro but I do NOT get all the hate surrounding the Fashanu pick; our line had been a trash heap full of injuries, and while we FINALLY have quality starters, Tyron Smith still has massive durability concerns and WILL miss time. Olu is arguably the best pass protector in this class, is a great athlete, and above all else has an A1 personality/mindset. He came into Penn State as a guy who wasn’t highly recruited, and grinded his ass off to become the highly regarded prospect he was this draft. All his coaches and teammates spoke volumes about his work ethic and dedication, and you can see it for yourself when you watch his post-draft presser. He’ll be learning from the best behind Smith and Moses, and I have faith he can be the cornerstone franchise LT this team has DESPERATELY needed since Brick left.
Corley is a DAWG and was the exact guy I wanted them to pick. Not a complete receiver, sure, but he’s a weapon. Give him the ball in open space and he will PUNISH teams’ secondaries, I can not wait to watch him. Screens, flats, drags, slants, tosses/pitches, hell, you could even run two back sets with him and Breece. The possibilities are endless, I just hope Caveman Nate doesn’t take til Week 14 to figure out how to use him.
I disagree with your take on Travis. He’s a baller, who almost certainly would have went higher if it weren’t for his injury. He’s not mechanically sound and he doesn’t have the strongest arm, but he has the accuracy, processing, athleticism and competitive mindset to be a capable starter in this league. Obviously every QB pick is a dart throw, especially later round picks, so I’m not saying he’ll be our franchise guy, but it’s smart to take a developmental guy and sit him behind ARod while we have him.
I agree that two RBs was overkill. We originally had 3 picks in the fourth, and I do NOT understand why Trader Joe decided to use them to trade back, but he does this every year so I suppose we should have expected it. Would have loved to have walked away from Round 4 with Travis, and one of either a safety, Zak Zinter for quality IOL depth with the upside to be a future starter, and/or Troy Franklin. I’m cool with the Braelon Allen pick, because he’s a hard runner with monster strength, and getting another guy to get the hard yards and keep Breece’s legs fresh was a need, but I don’t understand why we think it necessary to have 4 RBs every year.
As for the later picks, they’re always dart throws, so no opinions there.
All in all, I’d give JD a B- for this draft. Like you said, I thought we could have got better value with some of our picks, but I’m happy with the majority of them.

Joe Douglas said they tried to trade up in the first multiple times but couldn’t swing it. No 2nd round pick hampered their efforts. Fashanu was the best pass protector in the draft and Corley is a play now weapon.
Also, no one with any sense believes that the Jets are going to win the Super Bowl this year.

onyl “questionable” pick imo was the 2nd rb orherwise a great draft from jd and the jets imo. i think youre underselling corleys skillset imo and also why not take a qb in the 5th. as a jets fan we had a pretty good understanding wed take a shot at a qb in the later rounds. when you get that late in the draft these picks are really shots in the dark. why not try and get your qb of the future to sit behind arod and learn. if it doesnt work out then who cares

Braellen Allen is the ideal pick for Jets. Compliments Hall beautifully and he is VERY young so lots of upside to come too.
The trade backs after that were mystifying - could have gotten a needed safety, a young DT or OG to build the future or maybe CB dept.
Travis if he comes back from injury ok he will end up being a good pick.

Obviously you don't understand why the Jets draft who they do...They want bruisers in this draft. Corley was a RB coverted to WR...Other talent evaluate compare him to DEEBO but your concerned about his route tree. Corley's coaches called the plays don't act like he can't run more routes. He RUNS over safeties and CBs, has great hands, and can take it to the house on any play. ALLEN and DAVIS again bruising backs that both can take it to the house also. QB TRAVIS goes WAY higher in this draft if he doesn't get injured...Fashanu has excellent hand technique and didn't give up ANY sacks period. The CFL player is the biggest question mark because he only played one year of college football. KEY is MR. Irrelevant but looked good on tape..Mark my words CORLEY will be a super star in this league...BOOK IT!!!

Jets are a disaster clownshow organization. No real serious football people "understand" why the clown Jets "draft how they do".
2023 draft was TERRIBLE. 2021 and 2020 drafts were total DiSASTERS.
Jets got one legit NFL player in Odunze in this draft.
      Corley is TERRIBLE.
Corley is a SloW 🐌 rb pretending to be a wr.
His conference was crap and "he ran over" slow skinny jabronis on terrible college teams. His 40 is nearly 4.7 which is terrible and won't translate to the NFL.
      The RBS are wasted picks.
Jets got a skinny already injured project QB and couple of project dbs.
This draft is NOT good at all.
      C at best.

    Jets fan here,
They absolutely could’ve & should’ve done more at WR.
They still have a need for speed & are very close to being a 2 level offense. Tyler Boyd & Corey Davis aren’t changing this.
Corley will play & possibly quite a bit. But he’s a chess piece & not ready to be a full time slot/#3. He’s got a chance to be special
I didnt mind the RB picks at all. They were very shallow behind Breece. Izzy likely safe but as more of another chess piece like Corley, rather than a true 3 down RB.
They also had a need for a power runner for GL/Short Yardage situations that could also pass block situationally. Mission accomplished.
Have no problem at all w them bringing in a high ceiling developmental QB behind the 2 vets.
This was not a BPA/Value draft for them whether we like it or not. They went in w a specific strategy in mind to address key areas.
They need to figure out how to add another competent pass catcher who can stretch w the field w this some vertical speed.

Totally disagree with your opinion with pick 5. I think that was the best thing to do. To draft jordan Travis. I understand your thoughts on a win now mentally. But you also have to consider that the GM is auditioning for either his next team or resigning. Showing other teams that he can make some great moves, stay cap friendly, and still think the organization's future. If I'm the jets, he's getting an extension.. they got rid of rex hogan that influenced some picks like zach wilson.. just something to consider. If going out, you're going out swinging your way, without jeopardizing the future of the organization.

You talk about how at 134 they're a pretty complete team and instead of looking for rb depth(which is a need for them) they should try to get a star
so with their next pick they try to get a future star but that's a bad pick because they have the "good" 34 year old backup tyrod taylor??

    Odunze was a great pick.
Everything else are pure projects and gadget players.
    Corley is a DISASTER pick.
A super slow RB pretending to be a WR. Corley runs 4.67 and will be caught from behind by DE's in the NFL.
The two RBS are complete wasted picks. A RB from Wisconsin who runs straight ahrad through gaping holes in college and a punt returner from South Dakota. Yawn.
The project QB does have upside and the corner from Canada is an interesting prospect.
Bottom line, The Jets draft class is NOT GOOD.
    Solid C at best.
