The Willy's is definitely a sweet spot this year and I thought long and hard about the Willy vs Rubicon. I ended up buying the Rubicon for many reasons. Do I need the Rubicon? Probably not. The Willy's would have served me just as well I think. However, I know myself. I would've regretted not getting the Rubicon. I wanted all the offroad goodies, the 4.10 gearing, the sport hood, the hd axles, the leds, the tow package, etc, etc, and as silly as it sounds, all the red accents and the non-cloth dash. By the time I loaded up a Willy's, I'm close to the Rubi price. I love how the Rubicon looks, especially my red one with the unpainted fenders and roof. The contrast looks so cool, red and black are my favorite colors. The rubi red shocks, the red stiching on everything. It just all looks so good, not to mention it's extremely capable. I've taken mine offroad a couple times already and I was so impressed. I can't wait to get it out there on the trail again. So much fun to drive. The clutch is lighter than I would like, but it works well in everything I've driven so far. I hope to keep it a long time. Cheers!
I'm with you. Love the willys. But I too opted for the rubicon. For me the front locker is worth it's weight in gold. Love it! But would probably be fine with a willys too. I've not yet got my rubi stuck. But I have used the front locker a couple dozen times in deep mud and live the extra confidence.
The Willys is definitely on my short list. The only reason I wouldn't want the "Off Road Extreme" package is we can't get that one with a stick. But the Locker and 4:10s from the factory is very nice.
True. But still many people getting cracks in them and the cost to replace is high. And a glass chain goes against your Insurance claim history. I had 5 glass chains in 3 years when I lived in Northern Michigan and I almost couldn't get insurance anymore because I had "5 insurance claims in 3 years". I'd rather have normal glass, without the antenna and pay the 380 out of pocket for a new windshield when I need one.
@PossumWaffen yep miss the old antenna. And I miss the days when insurance companies were not screwing us over so bad. A glass claim should not go against you in my opinion. As a 40k mile a year driving I go theu windshields like I go thru socks.

Great looking rig at $35-40k. A few years ago you could buy a fully loaded rubicon for that price. So they added 35” tires and a rear locker. That’s great, but not $52k great.
