No issues with my 2020 Willys except the power mirrors on the driver side quit working. I put a MetalCloak 2.5 gamechanger lift and man what a difference on the ride. It’s not nearly as harsh. I would highly recommend. Glad to hear you’re still happy with it.
Such nice music on the intro! I too have taken a chance on a Jeep (JL Sport) after years of reliable Japanese vehicles and premium German sedans. I have heated nothing, electric nothing - wind up windows. And I couldn’t be happier because the vehicle is full of genuine personality and freedom potential. I just roll along with a big smile on my face. Glad you are enjoying your Jeep life!
Thank you so much Diana. What an awesome explanation you gave of your Jeep experience. :). ..."rolling along with a big smile on my face." Love it. Have fun.
I also have a 2020 Willy's Wrangler 4 dr. Daily driver - have driven from So Cal to Salt Lake and SoCal to Seattle and back. Only complaint is road noise on long trips with the Firestone's, Otherwise, tracks straight - Off road in snow and mud - moderate difficulty was a breeze - no issues and the Jeep is a beast
I really like the black grill on the Willys and normally i would say a person would be nuts to swap it out for some other grill. I mean the black grill is part of the Willys style . But i must say, that Arizona grill looks fantastic on the willys and gives it that visual ''pop'' that makes your Jeep stand out and be noticed from all the other Jeeps.
Cool to see you still doing these vids. I sold my Jeep, waiting on the first of 2 Broncos. The first will be a plain jane 4 door Big Bend, it should be here in a week or so. I'll drive it around until I get my Badlands sometime in the Spring. It was weird watching my Jeep drive away after 10 years of owning it.
Thank you and congratulations! Other than the top issue it looks like Ford old nailed it. They are sweet all round. I am looking forward to hear what you think after having the Jeep for 10 years! Congrats again brother.
You'll regret your decision. You either didn't do your homework or you just had a case of the Wants"" ...!!! Start comparing the underneath items on your Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler and you'll catch on pretty fast. The sway and Tyre rods are the size of chopsticks. And they are hell to replace as well. Which =more labor costs as well as break downs. And for some odd reason rock climbing and off trail voids your warranty. Isn't that odd. There are more downfalls as well. Like as of now they are breaking down a lot. New model anything, usually takes about 5 years to get the kinks out. The Bronco build is like they wanted a monster truck look, without the parts to do it. The little ones are even worse, and no storage space or room. Ford definitely got the look on the Big Bend, but it isn't anything compared to a Wrangler. Peace.
@@thebigfellar7178 Well. I absolutely don't regret my decision. I traded in the Big Bend and got myself a 2 door Wildtrak. It's got the Hoss 3.0, meaning the same steering rack as the Braptor. After almost a year behind the wheel, I love it. No regrets getting rid of the TJ Rubicon I owned for almost 10 years. My Bronco gives up a little clearance and a little travel. But it has double the power and lower gears. I've taken it off road several times and it performs very well.

I carry a buck 110 knife with finger grooves, a single shot stevens 301 12 ga. shotgun, a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag. and so on. Time tested reliability. Jeeps have been my brand and many others I know. Had a Chev blazer loved it. went back to the wrangler though. Got a Grand Cherokee, went back to wrangler. And ever since it's always been wranglers. To each their own is and will always be my motto. But no matter where I go , you never see a jeep needing assistance. It always seems to be another brand. Broncos do not seem to be doing well in my states of fun Va. and W. Va. they definitely are having problems off the jump. Electrical issues abound. we saw #2 pulled off trail and both were electrical. And as you well know must week-end warriors are not certified mechanics ...!!! Hi Rick, 16,000 miles now on my 21’ willys diesel. No issues whatsoever so far. Glad you’re loving your Jeep, I love mine and I came from a Subaru crosstrek as well. I highly recommend disconnecting your front sway bar before off-roading, much much smoother and less of that rocking from side to side and the axle can articulate.
Thank you Mike. I have been wanting to try the sway bar disconnect...my old back doesn't like the rocking back and forth anymore. :) I imagine the diesel is pretty sweet. How is the mpg on it?
My sisters completely stock 2020 Willys kept up with my modded Rubicon on more than one occasion on trails. So yea, they are a great investment. She has no issues with it either and loves her Jeep.
on te radio, just turn it off ten when you turn it on hold the button for a minute to clear the system, it will reset to factory settings and you will have no issues:) Typically, if your map has a lot of stored addresses etc it will cause that effect!
I have the 2021 Willys gladiator. I fixed the vague steering at highway speed by installing the steer smarts sector shaft brace, it was like night at day. If you look at the mounting points for the steering gear box while someone is turning the steering wheel you can see deflection on the frame mounting points, this is what causing the steering issue at highway speed at least for me. The frame is to thin in this area and needs more reinforcement. Anyhow I went from thinking about the steering all the time at speed to not thinking about it at all after in installed the bracket. That issue your having with the radio is not normal.
i have a 2021 willys JLU with 41k (i do a lot of driving) and the only issue i have had is the silver flake chipping off my steering wheel. Mechanically vehicle has been awesome no issues to date. I also take mine wheeling and knock on wood haven't gotten stuck yet and when the jeep was bone stock it was the best off road truck i've ever owned. you can see videos of the willys JLU on my channel
I traded a cross trek for a Willys too! 2021 limited to a 2 door willys! both great cars but the jeep is a hundred times more fun despite the gas mileage difference, which isn't really a complaint since you can't have everything lol
Thanks for the video! This second time I watched as I'm interested in the Willys (2024). Sorry if I missed it but please tell me which motor do you have in your Willys? Thanks, and keep having fun Jeeping!
I like jeeps but I had alot of issues with my 2020. I was the second owner and the first owner never took it off road. Leaking roof , radio problems, door rattle, heated seats quit working... Just a few to name. Traded it for a 2019 subaru outback ..lifted it 2 " ....couldnt be happier.
Reliability statistics (not anecdotal ownership experiences) are what count. Jeep is getting better (83 out if 100 according to JD Powers in August 2022) but they have a long way to go.
i think it's the most desireable Jeep model. the tire size has a narrow range of options for replacement. personally, i wouldn't want the stock tires as they are not good in rain or snow, far too off road specific.
It is a great spec for sure and now in 24 you can get a rear locker! I have not had any issues with the stock tires in the rain, but have never had to drive in snow.
Thanks for the update. Great to hear there have been minimal issues. No death wobble as I heard on some early JL’s. I myself am trying to decide 2.0L or the 3.6L familiar to me. Any thoughts?
Hi Thomas, I chose the 3.6 after watching a few reviews on how the different engines felt off road…the 3.6 is smoother from what I learned. I have never driven the turbo. I also like the simplicity of a V6 over a turbo and although you don’t have to use premium I think it is recommended. The 3.6 has plenty of power and works well with the 8 speed transmission. I have be seeing 22mpg when commuting lately. Not bad considering what my 05 use to get.
The big difference is that the 2.0 turbo is direct injected, where the waste oil gets dumped back into the intake and carbons it up. The 3.6 is multi--port injection and the intake gets cleaned with gas--no carbon build up. Plus, you can never get a manual tranny with the 2.0 turbo.
I have a 2021 Rubicon and the only thing that I have had go wrong was the little arm that controls the tailgate came out and I cannot seem to get it back in, so right now when I open the tailgate, it has no stops, it either opens all the way or closes all the way depending on the incline of where the Jeep is parked. It is annoying and I have almost had the tailgate swing all the way open in a parking lot and hit another car, but luckily I grabbed it before it hit, but I now have to hold it when I open the tailgate, so I need to get that fixed when I take it in. I do not think that it was defective, it happened on a trip where my girlfriend and I were on some pretty rough and bouncy trails, and we had a few bags in the back, so it is possible that something was hitting the little arm and bent it a bit. Other than that, I have had no problems. I rotate my tires and change the oil every 5,000 miles, I try to keep it clean, and I am not too rough with it. And I have also been averaging a little over 20 or so miles per gallon, and that is mostly highway driving.
Nice. That is a bummer about the tailgate, but should be an easy fix. My 05 Rubicon's tailgate didn't have a stop and it was a pain...especially on inclines.
The only issue I've had so far on my 2021 Jeep JT is the rear/back-up cam: The image became somewhat blurry (lower-resolution than it was at first) after 3 months or so -- they said there was some condensation in it, but I couldn't see it myself. Whatever, the dealer replaced with with a new one and it's been nice & clear since. The FRONT cam (Trail Cam) is still sharp. Steering was great from the beginning and still is. And very smooth-riding on the freeway during a recent road-trip (CO to TX and back), seat very comfortable as well. HOWEVER, I've had BIG issues when I got my first "servicing" done (term used loosely as it was DEstructive, not CONstructive, if you will): The Service Monkey screwed up pretty much everything doing the oil/filter change & tire-rotation. Consequently, I am considering going back to doing that routine-maintenance myself (even though it's more difficult nowadays due to some mobility issues)...but it's the ONLY way I can be SURE it's done right, which would eliminate stressing over what they did or did not do at the dealership. Happy Trails, -- BR
Hi Bill, thank you for your great comment and info. Sorry to hear about the dealer problems...never good. So far the guys at my local place have been good. I didn't realized there was a front camera option, very cool. Did they sort out the rear camera for you? Thank you for watching Bill!
@@AZdroptop Yes, they ordered a new rear camera, and when it came in I went back to have it installed...all on warranty so of course, no cost to me. That was a different Jeep dealership though, not the other dealership where the Service Monkey works. ;-) -- BR
I just bought a 2023 Willys Wrangler and the camera on it is 10X's better than the camera on my 2022 Dodge Charger. The Charger's camera looks like video through a potato!
@@AStanton1966 Yes, I was really impressed with the cameras (I have the backup-cam and the front "Trail Cam") on my 2021 Jeep...the backup cam on my 2016 Honda Pilot (trade-in for the Jeep) looked at best to be 480p resolution, MAYBE 360p. TERRIBLE...and I'm sure Honda COULD have installed -- SHOULD have -- at least a 720p camera if they wanted to. There is NO excuse for blurry, crappy OEM/factory vehicle cams anymore. So coming from the Honda to the Jeep was "eye opening" (!) camera-wise. -- BR
Great video. Thanks for this I just got a 2021 Willy’s 2-door Used with 9K miles How do these MT2 tires do on highway on moderate rain days? (in 2H of course)
Hi Charles, thankfully rust isn't an issue here in Tucson so it honestly has never been a consideration. It would not be a bad idea if you live in a moist area though.
Ever wish you had a rear locker? We don't live near trails anymore but still want something capable enough for light to moderate trails, we are coming down form a 2020 land Rover discovery which was incredibly comfortable and capable but is no longer needed.
That is a great question and something I pondered quite a bit when I bought the Willys. So far I haven't missed a locker at all, but I really don't do anything real crazy off road. My 05 Rubicon had lockers and honestly I only used them a couple of times. I figure if I do end up wanting to get into harder stuff I could add an aftermarket set up of some kind. I imagine the Land Rover is super comfortable! Did you ever do any trails with it?
@@AZdroptop Yes we did some before moving away from AZ, mostly, bull dog canyon, bloody basin, seven springs,Schnebly Hill Road and a few parts of the other trails in Sedona Moved to FL and it all seems like mudding around here but interested in the willys for flat towing behind an rv and doing some light to medium off roading while vacationing
Very cool. My wife and I did Schnebly Hill just a couple months ago. Beautiful area, but that has to be the rockiest trail in the world. LOL My back was not a fan. I have not done the others you listed so I will have to look them up and give them a try. Take care and best of luck!
@@AZdroptop Schnebly Hill is the kind of trail I would want this for, the LR spoiled us with the air suspension and air downed tires (ditched 20s for 18s) Definitely check out those other trails, I wish we could have done more before leaving AZ. Thanks for the feedback as well, I'm thinking a willys will do just fine and anything more is just overkill ..which isn't bad other than for my finances.
Very cool. I did not air down on Schnebly, part of my problem, because I didn't have my compressor handy... Glad I could help. I think you will like the Willys, just the right amount of ability with out paying for stuff you may never use.
Yesterday my wife and I bought a '21 Willys with only 20K miles on it. And so far I really like it. The only issue is the original owner installed 35.12 off-road tires but looks pretty cool. Question what size tires did y'all install on your Jeep that seem to work well on/off highway?
Congratulations on your Willys. I used the stock set up and they were great. Not too loud on the road and I had zero issues off road with them. Fore replacements I would go with BFG KO2's in the factory Willys size. Had them on my Subaru and they lasted 60K miles.
Ho Rick glad you're enjoying your Jeep and it is operating fine. I have 7800 miles on my Crosstrek so at the end of the year I don't think I will make 8000 miles when my car is 4 years old. I am batteling my stomach pains because of bacteria from my Keurig coffee machine. I cannot get the antibiotic Cipro, it is backordered and no CVS or Rite Aid in 20 mile radius has it. It is under a back order and no one has it and I just have to wait. I feel like I am in a 3rd world country. I could go to an urban area around any of the cities and buy Heroin, Cocaine, or Meth but not a legal antibiotic that I need to kill the bacteria in my stomach. I also separately have messed up taste buds now for 6 weeks! Otherwise I am fine!!!
LOL. You speak sad but true words Dave! Sorry you are having stomach issues. No fun. Hope they can get the medicine you need here soon. I am always amazed at how few miles you have on your Crosstrek...
Not as of yet, but I don't really do any crazy off roading these days. It was one of my considerations when choosing between the Rubicon and the Willys and in the end I figured I could add a locker if needed..
Hi Ronald, honestly I have not. I think if I was off doing serious off roading on a regular basis it is possible, but with the stuff I do it just isn't necessary at this point. I had an 05 Rubicon and it was an amazing vehicle off road, but I think I used the lockers maybe twice the whole time I owned it. :) These days I figured the Willys had pretty much all I would need and do a bit better MPG wise than the Rubi.
Its not a car. Its a Jeep. I know, I know….I am being picky but if you own one (like you do) its not a car. Thank you for pronouncing Willys correctly! Most people do not. Sharp looking Wrangler Willys you got there. I like the Sting Gray with the hard top
Ha ha thank you.😃. Took me awhile to learn the correct way to say it and I’ll caught myself saying it wrong from time to time. I really like the color as well. Good stuff
I am a current rental Mazda sedan owner and planning to buy Jeep Wrangler Willys model next year. I would like to know two things from you- 1. Can I use this vehicle for daily use? Do you feel annoying sometimes to take this big car for a a short trip such as grocery shopping or even go to wallmart? 2. Is the fuel efficiency is as same as what company claims?
Hi there, I have no issues at all using the Jeep for daily use. In fact, I find it do be a nice daily driver. Great visibility, comfortable, decent sound, easy to reach controls etc. MPG has actually surprised me...generally around town I am at 20 to 22 and highway MPG depends on speed and grade, but 23 mpg is pretty easy to get if you keep it 65 to 75 mph The only real issue the Jeep has is steering feel and highway driving. It wanders a bit so you have to make micro corrections more than you would in a standard car. It isn't horrible, but solid axels are not the best for on road handling. :) That being said I have done a couple of 5 hours trips in the Jeep and it was fine. Better than I thought it would be. Here is a video I made about commenting in the Jeep.ua-cam.com/video/NcCz8Akwyqo/v-deo.html
@@AZdroptop Bit unclear about the steering feel issue you mentioned i.e. it wanders a bit. Do you mean to say steering isn't steady specially on a highway drive?
Sorry for my slow reply...traveling currently. When you are cruising on the freeway the jeep tends to move around more than a normal car would so you have to make more micro corrections while at speed. I don't have any wobble or anything crazy, but it is definitely different that a normal car. It is one thing the Bronco has over the Jeep since it has indent-ent front suspension vs a solid axle like the Jeep.
This great! Thanks for posting this. I have rented two Wranglers and got used to the steering quickly. Everything negative with the steering on the hwy really shines off road. Kindof an ahh hah moment. It clicks. And then there is the articulation with the straight axle off road. Another ahh hah moment. Thinking of replacing my Gr Cher Trailhawk with a Willys. So your review was helpful. I am not sure why the You Tube algorithms are just now showing me this now. But all good. Keep calm and carry on good sir.👍👍😎🇺🇸
Thank you very much! Great to hear that it is helpful. I love this Jeep, surprisingly good day to day on the road and more than capable for what I do off road so win win. :) Best of luck to you and thank you again.
As someone who has a 2021 Subaru Forester Sport, with you coming from a Crosstrek. I have been curious about a Jeep. I have heard all the horror stories and whatnot of owning a jeep. The Forester and 4Door wrangler are comparable in size. For the money would you rather have your Willys or put a 2” lift and A/T tires on a Forester to achieve the same or similar ground clearance or go for the Jeep and why?
Hi Austin, you should have heard the comments when I bought the Jeep. :) Many said it would be horrible and have a ton of problems. So far the only issues I have had are the sun visors needing to be replaced. Everything else has been pretty solid so far. Fingers crossed. My 18 Crosstrek had many recalls and TSB's, but when you by the first year of a model change it is kind of expected. I switched from the Crosstrek to the Jeep because I wanted to be able to go further off road with out having to worry about issues. The Crosstrek was pretty capable with the mods I did, but AWD isn't 4WD and Subaru's will never articulate like a Jeep can. I never did a lift on my Crosstrek and even if I had there still would have been traction issues even with Xmode. I love Subarus and they are great cars, very capable for dirt roads and some rough stuff if you have tires and wheels, but they will always have limits. I'm not into rock crawling and will probably never use the Jeep to its full potential, but I will have piece of mind to do all of the stuff I want. Surprisingly, it is easy to live with on road as well with all the creature comforts I could ask for. Biggest downside to the Jeep compared to the Crosstrek would be MPG and ease to drive on the freeway. Compared to a Forester with a lift and tires I would still take the Jeep mostly for piece of mind when off roading, 4WD vs AWD, articulation and purpose built for going off road. It would come down to being able to off road easily with out having to worry about breaking something or not having traction when I need it. Hope that helps.
@@AZdroptop thank you for the input! My wife has already had her CVT replaced at 8k miles on her Ascent. So far no issues with the Forester, just like you said that whole piece of mind thing. Plus I’m not really liking having a CVT. I appreciate your input and happy trails 🤙
The only thing I miss having on my Willys is keyless entry/touch to lock or unlock. It has push button start and remote start, but not keyless entry. To be honest I am not even sure that is an option. The tow package was a must for me and I recommend it. You might consider the sound deadening package for the hard top from the factory to save yourself form having to install it yourself. The stock stereo is pretty good, but if I had the chance I probably would have added the subwoofer and amp from Jeep as well just for the simplicity of it. Some other possible additions would be steel bumpers from and rear, but they are fairly pricey and there are countless options available aftermarket. Best of luck with your Jeep! Hope you have a lot of fun with it.
I have same.jeep trim year just nacho color the.biggest issue I have with mine is when im not driving it. I hate not being in my jeep driving off roading camping fishing hiking taking the dogs out if im not in my jeep I hate it.
I traded away my 2018 Crosstrek Limited. The CVT is the Achilles heal and really was too limiting off-road. On road it was just too underpowered for me on mountain passes.
Hey Joe, what did you replace it with? I actually really liked the CVT on road, but agree, it definitely had its limits off road even with X mode. Hopefully the new X mode is helpful.
@@AZdroptop We have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is a bit more capable if we plan to go off-road. There are some great Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) in AZ, UT, CO and NV we hope to try out in the spring, they are purposed for Adv bikes, but they are mostly double track, so 4x4s can use them too..
Awesome Willy’s wheeler man! I also own a Willy’s wheeler! Mine is a 2015 Baja yellow 2 doors that I bought brand new, I guess I’ve been lucky so far! The only thing I’ve had done to it so far! Is routine maintenance and new tires, also brakes. I bought it new in Illinois, but moved to Tucson Arizona a few years ago, and I love it here. I can’t wait to hit some of them trails here. I guess I’ve been babying mine a little too much!👋😂because it’s still looks brand new! I’m not disappointed I bought one! I love it! That I actually ended up purchasing another one, a Sahara edition, a 4 doors version. About gas mileage! Not too terrible, I average about 18-20mpg. I always maintain the service from the dealer. You’ll gonna enjoy yours I believe! But I understand not everyone is lucky. Some have different opinions about theirs! And others like me, will praise them. Good luck with yours! I really like the color! And you can never go wrong with the Willy’s version, it’s a step down from the rubicon. But still very capable nonetheless! Jeep wave 👋😎👍
Awesome! We have an endless amount of trails to check out from easy to no thank you. :). Great to hear your Willys has been solid so far and thank you for checking out the videos.
Uconnect in my experience is garbage. I have a ram as well as a new 4Xe and both I have issues with from the start. One of the things I can't stand is there's interference with both. You notice this when playing music, even through a wired connection you'll get interference in the speakers, almost like a popping/static noise and it's annoying as hell. You can scroll on the screen with your finger and get that static anytime your finger moves, and it's very pronounced when music is playing. Like I said two different vehicles, same uconnect platform, same problem.
Personally, I would steer clear of the new Uconnect5. I have Uconnect4 in 2 Jeeps and a Charger and it's been flawless. We had a new 2023 Grand Cherokee L Limited with the new Uconnect5 and got rid of that vehicle after only 6 months because of the Uconnect5. If fact JD Powers just lowered its rating for the Ram due to it.
Great review! I've also had a Crosstrek since 2018 (on my 2nd one now) and am at the point where I need more space. Bronco is my first choice but with the production delays, I'm looking at a Wrangler or Gladiator as my next vehicle (also Willy's edition). Does it get exhausting driving on the highway with how much it wanders? I do long-distance road trips and that's my only concern, test driving in 2 weeks.
Thank you! I still love the Crosstrek, so does my son :), but the Jeep has been a nice change. I have driven the Jeep on a couple of 270 and over 300 miles trips and it wasn't bad really. Better than I expected actually. It is definitely more work than other cars, but not crazy. My understanding is you can add an aftermarket steering stabilizer to help things out, but I am still stock. Hope that helps and best of luck! Let me know what you think of the Willys after you drive it.
@@AZdroptop If you have the automatic transmission equipped 3.6, then has it has E torque. If you still have the window sticker it should say it at the top in the engine description. From what I can gather it replaces the altenator with a mild 48V hybrid system.
Hi Linsey, so far mechanically it has been great. The only issue I have had really is a bit of a rattle around the driver's side door and a broken driver's side visor. Replaced under warranty. Otherwise the Jeep is great as a day to day vehicle.
I am only at 14,500 now :) My station was only about 7 minutes from home and I would drive the 911 now and then...these days I drive the Volt to work and cruise the Jeep on the weekends or when we want to go off road.
Rubicon shocks, rock rails, led headlights? Different wheels/tires, limited slip rear end. Maybe things have changed since 2020, but I thought those were part of the Willys package?
@@AZdroptop every Willys I've seen has normal mopar shocks, rock rails. You may be right about the led headlights. But there's not much difference between a Willys and Sport S besides the wheel/tire combo and a Willys decal.
Yes, every Willys will have rock rails, and Rubicon shocks, they are red...there are other standard options with the Willys that the sport doesn't have, but yes, it is essentially a Sport. I wanted the off road tires and limited slip....felt like it was better equipped for off road compared to a sport, didn't a Rubicon.
Well I don't have the Jeep anymore. :). Had it for about 3 years and just wasn't getting off road as much as I hoped and given the Jeeps road manners I bought a truck. The Jeep was actually a good vehicle, way better than the 05 I had, but has goofy steering.
I believe I said no Mechanical problems... :) A door rattle and visor issue isn't much of a big deal considering. I had 3 or 4 recalls with my Subaru and still love that car. The Jeep has been surprisingly good now at 14,000 miles.

@@AZdroptop it is sweet. I average 26 mpg. Towing does great as well
Very nice!
16k miles no problem? Dude, my prius 160k no problems, drive 144k miles more, and off road and get back to us😂

My sisters completely stock 2020 Willys kept up with my modded Rubicon on more than one occasion on trails. So yea, they are a great investment. She has no issues with it either and loves her Jeep.
Thank you sir! Appreciate it.
Even without lockers and a sway bar disconnect?
I’m looking at the 2021 Willy’s right now thanks for the video
Thank you. It was a great vehicle and good on road and off; Only real complaint is its highway banners.
I just ordered a Jeep Willy’s sport 4dr hard top in sarge green thanks for the review
Nice Color! And congratulations. Hope you love it.
on te radio, just turn it off ten when you turn it on hold the button for a minute to clear the system, it will reset to factory settings and you will have no issues:) Typically, if your map has a lot of stored addresses etc it will cause that effect!
That's awesome, thank you Michael. I will give it a try.
Hey thank you! I'll check out the shaft brace you mentioned. Much appreciated.
I have a 2021 2dr Rubicon and the steering is great. Don’t know why people complain about it?
i have a 2021 willys JLU with 41k (i do a lot of driving) and the only issue i have had is the silver flake chipping off my steering wheel. Mechanically vehicle has been awesome no issues to date. I also take mine wheeling and knock on wood haven't gotten stuck yet and when the jeep was bone stock it was the best off road truck i've ever owned. you can see videos of the willys JLU on my channel
Hey Andrew I'll check out your videos and thanks for the comment. Great to hear your Jeep is going strong.
Which engine does your Willys have? Just asking since you have 41k on it and had zero problems.
I traded a cross trek for a Willys too! 2021 limited to a 2 door willys! both great cars but the jeep is a hundred times more fun despite the gas mileage difference, which isn't really a complaint since you can't have everything lol
Very nice! The Willys are a ton of fun for sure. Still really enjoying mine. :)
I own a 2021 Rubicon 3.6L E-Torque with 21000 miles so far. It has been flawless…seriously nothing. 22MPG!
Awesome! My only real issue was the visor breaking on the driver's side and now the passenger side...no biggie at all. Love this Jeep.
Thanks for the video! This second time I watched as I'm interested in the Willys (2024). Sorry if I missed it but please tell me which motor do you have in your Willys? Thanks, and keep having fun Jeeping!
Thank you for watching. :). x 2. I have the 3.6L. It is great and pairs nicely with the 8 speed auto.
@@AZdroptop I mentioned earlier I just bought a '21 Willys unlimited. It has the 3.6 and seems to have plenty of power.
That’s a bummer…sorry to hear it. Congrats on the Outback! Subaru’s are great cars.
Reliability statistics (not anecdotal ownership experiences) are what count. Jeep is getting better (83 out if 100 according to JD Powers in August 2022) but they have a long way to go.
Mine has been pretty solid so far. I am a little bummed that my Hard top paint is coming off in a few places...mechanically it has been good.
i think it's the most desireable Jeep model. the tire size has a narrow range of options for replacement. personally, i wouldn't want the stock tires as they are not good in rain or snow, far too off road specific.
Nowhere on the owners manual says it recommends premium for the 2.0…. If I am missing it please point it out. Thanks
Happy Trails,
-- BR
Hi Bill, thank you for your great comment and info. Sorry to hear about the dealer problems...never good. So far the guys at my local place have been good. I didn't realized there was a front camera option, very cool. Did they sort out the rear camera for you? Thank you for watching Bill!
@@AZdroptop Yes, they ordered a new rear camera, and when it came in I went back to have it installed...all on warranty so of course, no cost to me. That was a different Jeep dealership though, not the other dealership where the Service Monkey works. ;-)

Great video. Thanks for this
I just got a 2021 Willy’s 2-door Used with 9K miles
How do these MT2 tires do on highway on moderate rain days? (in 2H of course)
I never had any issues with the tires at all. They were pretty good all around. Thank you for your nice comment. Enjoy the Jeep!
thoughts on "soft" undercoating for rust protection?.. like fluid film, etc..
@@AZdroptop Yes we did some before moving away from AZ, mostly, bull dog canyon, bloody basin, seven springs,Schnebly Hill Road and a few parts of the other trails in Sedona
Moved to FL and it all seems like mudding around here but interested in the willys for flat towing behind an rv and doing some light to medium off roading while vacationing
Very cool. My wife and I did Schnebly Hill just a couple months ago. Beautiful area, but that has to be the rockiest trail in the world. LOL My back was not a fan. I have not done the others you listed so I will have to look them up and give them a try. Take care and best of luck!
@@AZdroptop Schnebly Hill is the kind of trail I would want this for, the LR spoiled us with the air suspension and air downed tires (ditched 20s for 18s)
Definitely check out those other trails, I wish we could have done more before leaving AZ.
@@AZdroptop Thanks. With the 35's on I am only getting 16 mpg. Anxious for the new tires next week. Toyo 255 85 17
Oh wow. that is quite a hit mileage wise. I would get 21 to 23 in the city. Hope the new tires work out well for you.
@@AZdroptop Thanks. The plan is to have the new tires this coming Friday the 5th. I will get back to you. Thanks again. Happy Trails!
I have the same car (same color too) and that rattling is so annoying. Will have to let them know that was the fix
Hey Zach, it has been a few months now since I had this done and it definitely helped, but I still get the rattle from time to time. Totally annoying.
Ever come to point you felt like you needed lockers or does the Jeep ABS really help out a lot ?
Not as of yet, but I don't really do any crazy off roading these days. It was one of my considerations when choosing between the Rubicon and the Willys and in the end I figured I could add a locker if needed..
@@AZdroptop roger that !
Hey Ricky, grill is sweet. Jeep looks way to clean 👌. Nice ride.
Also you will want to beef up the steering stabilizer. It will make a difference on the road.
Marky! Thank you. We have to get out and about now that it is cooling off! Thank you for the tip on the Steering stabilizer....seems a great plan.
I''ve had 4 jeeps.....79 golden eagle V8 CJ and a 84 CJ and a 85 CJ and a 90 Brairwood........wish I could afford a newer one.
They have definitely gotten a little crazy price wise.
Good video. Do you ever wish you bought the Rubicon instead? Thanks
I would like to know two things from you-
MPG has actually surprised me...generally around town I am at 20 to 22 and highway MPG depends on speed and grade, but 23 mpg is pretty easy to get if you keep it 65 to 75 mph
The only real issue the Jeep has is steering feel and highway driving.
@@AZdroptop Good intel here sir. Thanx!

Ed, thank you! I have not, but need something for the Volt. I will check it out.
Thank you and best of luck. I know the First Ascent's had some issues with their programing that was causing early wear. I still love subarus!
Question Rick, we would like to purchase a 2023 Jeep Willys
What extra options would you get ?
Thank you
The only thing I miss having on my Willys is keyless entry/touch to lock or unlock.

Nice, what color is that Wrangler?
Thank you. It is Sting gray

Thank you!
I would agree it isn't great. The screen flicker's now and then like the connection is bad or something when using Apple car play.
If fact JD Powers just lowered its rating for the Ram due to it.
awesome video! Thanks for posting
Thank you very much!
Not sure if I missed it, but what engine do you have? Thanks.
I have the V6
Hey Rick, any issues or concerns with the E torque system?
I am not sure what the E torque system is to be honest. 😀. Does the 3.6 L use that technology?
@@AZdroptop If you have the automatic transmission equipped 3.6, then has it has E torque. If you still have the window sticker it should say it at the top in the engine description. From what I can gather it replaces the altenator with a mild 48V hybrid system.
Oh gotcha. Well, no issues as of yet, but I wasn't aware of it. :). I will have to read up on it. Have you read of problems with it?

I am only at 14,500 now :) My station was only about 7 minutes from home and I would drive the 911 now and then...these days I drive the Volt to work and cruise the Jeep on the weekends or when we want to go off road.
Jeep Willis?!
As I have learned over the since buying the Jeep it is pronounced Willis. I still say Willies now and then, but officially I guess it is Willis.
There's no difference between a Sport S and Willy's other than beefer tires.
Cool things with Jeeps- manual transmission.
I drove manuals for years and still like them on sports cars...anything else and I'm too lazy to be honest. :)
All I hear is problems lol sucks my brotha
Well I don't have the Jeep anymore. :). Had it for about 3 years and just wasn't getting off road as much as I hoped and given the Jeeps road manners I bought a truck. The Jeep was actually a good vehicle, way better than the 05 I had, but has goofy steering.
Says he hasn’t had problems yet 10k miles and talks about 3 annoying issues right after lol
I believe I said no Mechanical problems... :) A door rattle and visor issue isn't much of a big deal considering. I had 3 or 4 recalls with my Subaru and still love that car. The Jeep has been surprisingly good now at 14,000 miles.
Things are pieces of shit.......
Ah, the first trolling shot fired… 😂
@@kevinong1306 It's not trolling if it's true. Wranglers are shitboxes that break all the time and have the interiors of a 1991 corolla.
@@drunkhusband6257 Wow, you literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
@@drunkhusband6257 I was looking Into getting one and have heard the same but I've been asking people that I see around with various wranglers and all have said they love them and not have mentioned problems when I asked. My cousin and couple friends have wranglers and are obsessed so I wonder do people just overlook the problems caus they're easier and cheaper to fix? I don't wanna get one then join the "jeeps are shitboxs club". They aren't cheap and although a completely different vehicle debating w a lexus NX or KIA sportage prestige
@@robglobal1 You are better off getting a decent truck and adding an off road suspension if you use it for a daily. Wranglers are really only good offroad, they make horrible every day street vehicles.
Great looking Jeep! Are those the stock 32 inch tires? Have you had a lift or leveling? Thanks!
Thank you very much. Tires are stock and no leveling or lift so far. Maybe someday.
Is that the 4 inch tall hula girl?
Ha ha. :). Yes, I believe it is.
Haha thanks! I had ordered one for my Willys but she was too tall (7 inches). Just got the new one in the mail and she’s a perfect fit. It’s the little things 👍. Really enjoy your videos by the way!
