Even though I’m not the biggest supporter of Olivia rn after hearing Joshua’s side of the story and getting to understand him as a person (well, as much as you can over the internet without looking like a stalker anyway!😅) I’m SHOCKED that you haven’t listened to SOUR!!!😱🤯🤣 It was BY FAR one of the biggest releases by any artist last year! If you are wondering for who this song could be... (Only cause you would like to know i'll say this, cause sometimes when people put these assumptions in the coments, others take it really bad.. And i want to make clear that I don't do it with any bad intention!)
I just say that the message in this song in my perspective fits really good for Olivia 💜 You already heard Joshua's and Sabrina's songs maybe when you hear "Sour" would know a little bit of her heart and how she was feeling that time... Something that make me think it could be for her it's because he is mentioning "2 yeas to late" and they broke up 2 years ago... after being best friends and really really close...
So i can't imagine him saying sorry to Sabrina cause 2 years ago they where starting to date. (That's only for the "Triangle") Maybe it has nothing to do with that!

Just to speculate, In both this song, and in Different, he mentions being “two years” apart, which matches with the Olivia time line, so I feel like it’s probably about her, but we’ll most likely never know. I love how vulnerable he is in his music, it really feels authentic and that’s probably why it resonates with so many people.

About the story behind it, I try not to focus on that, but I'm kinda annoyed by how some people just assume they know for sure who he's singing about. And if I'm being honest, considering the context given by songs of the three of them, I think people are misinterpreting this one and Different. Anyway, I love your reactions to Joshua's music.
