This is actually a jazz-funk cut. These gents were way ahead of their time. I've always been and will always be a true and dedicated fan of the OHIO PLAYERS. Real music from real musicians. Diamond was one the funkiest drummers to play a set of drums!!!!!
A memory of days past when she was in my life, she turned me onto this group and they have been with me eva since... She had honey colored hair, green eyes, a smile that lit a room, a body that I could enjoy at any time.. a love that was & is memorable to this day. This song depicts my time with her which started in 74'. The Ohio Players songs covered every aspect of that time. a great post though it is from the hits album the long version is still the best. Peace & Thank U.
by the way, thank you for posting this song, its bring so memories, reminds me and my X who no longer at our presents. God Bless U, You will never be forgotten.
You knew just what you were getting right off the top with the Ohio Players. Could'nt wait to see the next album. Finally got with a girl that looked like the cover......... yea it was all good!!!!!!!!!
Yes, brother! I was "there" with you in their heyday and totally agree about them being ahead of the curve. This jazzy track is one of my all-time favorites, PERIOD. And in my schooldays I always thought Diamond was cute. Not because he's light-skinned. Because he's light-skinned AND could play the hell outta that kit (lol)! He laid down some of the freshest drum patterns and fills ever caught on tape.
You mean there was actual music on those records?? I just bought Ohio Players for their album covers!! This stuff is kinda new to me. Psyche!! I listened to every song on every album.
it's the kind of marshmallow you could put in your pocket, or even drop on the floor by accident and it would still be good. this one you want to savor taking little bites periodically
saw the ohio player in las vegas i left the show with a sound in my ears i will never for get they jammed that night i hope they will do a reat show soon i wanna see them again
Great song, great chord changes (unlike today's bullshit chords), great horns, great funk! I loved this song along with most of the music from the 70's. And THOSE ALBUM COVERS.....WOW!!!
I remember this when I was I young... I wish people would consider the greats when they are rapping.. I like hip hop, but I don't want my kids listening to it due to the cursing.................

Why "somewhat firm?" Is your marshmallow somewhat "sweet, soft and sticky now?" What did you do to it?
