You will invest a little more money on a Joker hmi but you will have a light fixture for life, you will have to worrie on changing the bulb when nedded... Otherwise the aputure will turn greener after the 2k hours of usage, the light will end up on the trash because theres no way to change the led chip, you will have to buy the whole light again...
is this light more powerful than a ltm 1200 hmi? because 1200 ltm hmi is 19816.36 lux (1841footcandles ) at 50 feet . how many lux is this light at 50 feet ?
That's a good question. I don't have or use a 1200 hmi to compare. I'm also in a smaller studio so my lights are within 10- 15 feet from the subject. Another reason this led was good for me was because its power draw. It only draws 8 amps as opposed to the joker 800 which drew 12 or 13amps. A 1200 HMI would draw even more. Something to consider in a smaller studio with a power limit.
I have two ltm 1200s and have worked quite a bit with the 600d. I have not metered them, but used them both in real world situations. It really depends on the situation. Spotted in, meaning the ltm with no lens vs the 600d with the fresnel, the ltm destroys the 600d. When you have to start using lenses with the 1200 (which you will usually have to do) it becomes a fairer fight. I’d say even with a wider flood lens the ltm is a bit brighter, though I don’t have numbers to back this up. It’s up to the user whether or not the increased brightness is worth the hassle of using HMIs over LEDs. Though, I find that a good 1200 watt Hmi is what I still prefer to work with over a 600d, but that’s just personal preference. Cheers
@@creativegreats6924 If I'm using it as a soft source then I usually put it through a 4x4 frame of 216 or a 8x8 bleached muslin or Grid cloth. It has the output to light a larger area if you're diffusing it. I don't have a softbox or lantern for it. I'm actually not really sure if they make one for it, but it'd definitely be cool if they did. Again, it's situational. If easy modification with softboxes is a priority then I would go with the 600D all day.
@@cfl4286 the thing I'm worried about with Ltm 1200 is reliability because it's used and I have not got it maintenance. I hear it's good to maintenance it thru a technician who understands these type of lights . For me I would need one in southern California cause I live in vegas and that's near by . Also I was looking into selling it and getting aputure 1200d to go with two 600d . But what I get Ltm lights for in so Cal is much cheaper than a new aputure 1200d and for some reason ..I still believe the 1200 hmi lights have more throw than the aputure 1200d light but I'm not sure how much more

This dude seems very chill. I liked your video.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for this. I would be curious to see a comparison between these two lights as a hard light and which one looks like actual daylight.
No more HMI bulb expense. Plus, I suspect the spotlight attachment will make Joe-Leko bulb changes a thing of the past.
Yes, Indeed!

What about the colour rendition?
I don’t notice a difference in color between the two. The cri seems great on the aputure.
Yo have to try the ETC source four series 3, it’s led flicker free and full of color.
Nice! what is the output on them?

HMI lights is better than the LED.
