Literally thinking of space and all the vast distances, the depths of time and space and how insanely small and insignificant we are is the only thing that helps me deal with trauma and with the thought of our impending extinction due to climate change. I just think of the universe, and how statistically there should be lots of other life forms out there, even lots of intelligent other life forms, and whatever happens here doesn’t seem so important anymore.

Your ending is literally the reason that spiked my interest in astronomy.
The sheer scale of the universe makes all mundane problems seem unimportant - and everything in society is much less interesting than what goes on, on a cosmological scale.

Excellent video. If you were my professor I would definitely be paying attention, the way you explain everything you provide such detail that I really don’t need a picture to look at. It opens my mind to see exactly what you are talking about. For some reason my mind can make every detail a clear picture, sometimes a small movie. Thank you for the video.

When I was grade 3 I asked my brother what is the biggest planet in the universe, he told me it was named something like "the great wall" I then started to overthink that it might explode but I calm myself with "Planets can't explode" and when there was a field trip in my school I woke up in 3 am just to go outside and see a lot of stars. It fascinated me and I wanted to learn more about our Universe. It even became my Aesthetic. And here is 12 year old me discovering that "The great wall" isn't a planet.

Sometimes I really do believe we are at the center of everything.
Like Sea said The scale of the universe is so unimaginably massive that it is hard to comprehend and we can barely even begin to study its far reaches. Personally it makes me feel insignificant even though we do live all together on this huge planet.
A part of me really makes me think we are incredibly special and unique and may be the only sentients thing that have lived maybe ever.
I'm sorry, I'm babbling, but always ever so curious.
    Thank you SEA.

I absolutely love how this video went into such staunch detail about the mathematical tests performed by the scientists who discovered this structure. I'm no astronomer and love watching videos like this, and have a natural hesitation to believe certain astronomical observations made in YT videos without evidence. I appreciate the video showing the plots and statistical significance values to show how bizarre the existence of such a structure is, and that makes it so much more believable as a viewer. I love space!!!

As you have mentioned, the more we learn, the more we realize we don't know. For all that has been theorized and been proven, for now, correct, there will always be that one case that shows that we may need to go back and take new look at the theories. A theory isn't a guess, but something that we did guess and then rigorously tested to the reasonable extent we can, with the knowledge that new information will either prove it false (falsibility is a requirement for a theory, after all) or that the theory is generally correct, but not correct enough.
