- Another fun day of exploring and meeting new people in Bangkok, Thailand! Today I show you how I met some cool people while exploring Bangkok. This was a packed day for me, even though I got a late start. First I met some old friends, and made a new one, on our way to try Fatty's Bar and Diner. That place had a great dive bar vibe and awesome American food. I even share the owner's story of why he opened Fatty's. After a great lunch, I had to leave my friends to go meet the owner of Beyond Horizon Real Estate to look at a few more condos. It was a day of taxis, BTS, MRT and lots of walking. I was pleasantly surprised on my way home when a lovely woman stopped to talk to me. As always, it was a day of surprises filled with meeting some interesting people here in Bangkok.

That is a great area. I’ve actually thought about moving there a few times, but it’s a little too commercial for daily living in my opinion. However, I love that park very much.

Only reason I am staying here is because it's close to lumphini park I can just walk every morning. Staying in Bangkok till Monday.

When I see the traffic in Bangkok from your clip make me say that no wonder why I don't like to drive there for that reason alone. I am from Bangkok but live in Kanchanaburi for a long while now. It has to be a very very good reason for me to go to Bangkok like taking my elderly mother to see her sister, probably that's all!
Yes, driving here in Bangkok is crazy. I was just in Kanchanaburi about five months ago. Really enjoyed it!
thank you for all your hard work. I like when you explore and get lost. I live in Hua Hin and go to Bangkok once or twice a month, I use your videos as an idea of places to visit. I also get lost when I go to Bangkok and that is the best part of exploring. I sometimes take the bus to place and start walking.

Heya Matt. Before I moved here, I started doing just what you’re thinking. I literally made a document on my laptop that had all the places I wanted to go check out. I still haven’t gone to many of them, but I like to try to keep track of things.

It's great to visit a few places by Serg, traffic is very heavy everywhere. You can opt for sea land & air ( walk link), nice foods and also explore new places by foot can be demanding 🫴. Certain places are up market and there's other cheaper options 😀. Thanks for sharing 👍 🎉😂

Hi Serg, interesting at the end of the video to see a elevated walkway under the train track level ? BTW, will the scooters still takeover this shortcut too ? ha ha Hopefully, you will demo the pedestrian walkway when it's completed.
The walkway is connecting one of the new malls to that particular BTS stop. The motorbikes will absolutely not be allowed up there. Thailand does have its limits. Lol.

Yup, the best way is to find a Thai crossing the road and follow as closely as possible.
How did you learn how to get around saw well . Is there a map or something you studied or trial by error .
Also, how are foreigners able to open businesses in Thailand ?
It’s all trial and error. I get lost quite a bit, but those are the best days for me. After living here for almost a year and a half, I know my way around to a certain degree.
A foreigner can open a business here if they have a Thai spouse, or a Thai business partner

The skywalk is called 'EM district skywalk' to connected 3malls(emporium emquartier and emsphere) it's not connected to bts asoke.

I don’t quite understand that comment. The BTS Phrom Phong station does bring you directly to the EMQuartier and Emporium malls. So if that Sky walk connects these malls, it also connects to a BTS station, just one further than the Asok BTS station. Same same !
He’s saying it will connect to the new mall, Emsphere, but it won’t connect to Asok BTS.
Wouldn't boat taxi be faster to get to where you're going though, Serg?
Not really, because I would’ve there needed to get onto a motorbike. The way I went was definitely the faster route.
are you just looking to rent serg? there seems to be so many obstacle's for foreigners if you want to buy.
I have zero desire to buy property here. I’ve done the math and, at least in a big city like this, it makes no sense to buy a condo. The break even point is decades away. Since I can’t get any tax write offs on it, I see very little advantage, as a foreigner, of buying a condo.

Serg you aint seen nothing re motor bikes on foot paths. I'm heading to Saigon soon and will have to compete with motor bikes taking over pedestrian space every peak hour. Food at Fatty's looked tasty but a killer for the waistline.
Yeah, I’ve heard Vietnam is even worse. And, of course, the food there isn’t exactly the healthiest.
At 11:44...if you don't like the way how Thai people drive then just stay off the sidewalk/pavement! Watch out for motorbikes on the sidewalks when you're walking in Bangkok.
