THAT comment is the only part of this page which makes sense. Affordability!
What about the Magenta MAX Military? I can't figure out if I'll lose money going to the Go5G Plus Military. I got 5 lines, and none we're free lines.
@@HoIyGrail Your bill will likely increase by $5 per line. If you want the best device financing deals, I personally think it's probably worth it. You can always decide later though -- there is no rush to upgrade.
@@StetsonDoggett Thanks Stetson. $5 extra? So 25 more per month, that would make it about $600 more every 2 years? Yeah, really going to have to think if the financing deals will be worth it.
@@HoIyGrail Yeah, it would be $600 more every 2 years. You'd be able to get 4 free phones every two years though, which is $3,200 in value every two years. Subtract the extra $600 you'd be paying per month, and it would be roughly $2,600 in savings. Of course, if you purchase devices outright and upgrade less frequently, maybe that could be a better option, too. I think ultimately comes down to your preferences.
I work at T-mobile and I agree with everything mentioned here. Also found it super helpful to have an honest breakdown when factoring in the trade-in values from the competition. Thank you!
Agreed. Also a fellow coworker at TMO. Literally makes no sense to do this other than trying to bring ATT customers and trying to rebrand what’s already there. The smart move would’ve to do this plan change is with the starlink-TMO launch
I felt the timing was off, but otherwise it’s not bad.
I am currently applying for a Job at T-Mobile, I need help I am currently working at T-Mobile but no directly to the company, I appreciate a referral, I love being a part of T-Mobile
@@atm5365 If you're at a TPR, you just have to keep applying to COR positions. A referral won't do much to be honest. It's sort of just glossed over, you just need to score really high on the online assessment when you apply that's how you get noticed.
@@vitorinojurado6169 where can I get this assessments? And what is TPR and COR?
Just wanted to say, Well Done! Categorized nicely, Breakdown of prices were easy to see, transition between plans were presented well in ascending prices, and you covered quite a good amount of information for a wide variety of people in various categories. Good transition and use of visual highlighting were outstanding! It was easy to follow. Keep it up.
@jt2quick
Totally agree! I like the way he thinks, compares, highlights & presents so much, that I liked and subscribed, and also hope he keeps doing comparisons like this! Very well done!
I am on the ONE plan paying $144 for 4 lines (one free) I just spoke with a agent at TM and they said I can upgrade to GO 5G+ for $4 more per month and still able to get trade-in credits of $830 for my old iPhone 7+. It seems like a killer deal. I think for familes the new plans are not bad if you are coming from older plans, but again, you need to make the calculations to make sure because each individual situation is different.
I completely agree.
You do realize I'm pretty sure that's like $4 per line😂
Yo. Did u get 800 dollars for an iphone 7? Did u try?
The eligible phones for trade-in start from iphone xr not 7.
@@EskeEthioTube wait, u can actuallly trade in starting with iphone 7 plus. Just checked with 5g go plus plan benefits.
Amazing job on this video. Thank you for the update. I’m on the military max for 4 lines so I’m definitely starting with it. Thanks 👍
T-Mobile now seems to cost the same as Verizon and AT&T now.
and tmobile bought verizon
@@Sletch-wv9wcsprint not Verizon
It may cost about the same but I've never been screwed over by T-Mobile
@@ayycasino4788 talk what you know

@@Sletch-wv9wc I think and I know T-Mobile bought sprint
Thank You! You bring clarity to a confusing pricing scheme.
Thank you very much for the work you do, nowadays everyone talks about mobiles and not plans that is equally important, you help me a lot to choose
I have always watched Stetson. He has grown so much and now he is very professional and straight to the point. I will always support you bud! Keep these videos coming!!!
I just checked at a tmobile store, current subscribers cannot avail of the new promo (2 lines plus 1 free) at the discounted price. You would end up with a higher monthly rate instead so actually not a good move to change into a new plan which is not good or make sense. You’d have to change numbers if that is the case to really avail it. It works more for non-tmobile subscribers wanting to move to tmobile. For example, I have 3 lines, I will need to get another line and the 5th one would be free.
Great job on the video. You answered all my questions.
I’m still on the old T-Mobile One plan. Absolutely no reason to change either. Unlimited everything except hotspot which I don’t really use anyway. Taxes and fees included and same price every single month. I also keep my phones longer than most people and only upgrade phones when mine start running slow or no longer receive updates
How much do you pay a month?
Same here.
Great video. Love how in depth you go on the comparison!
Thank you, Cole!
Go5G Plus with 2-4 lines was also my best conclusion so this sounds on point based on my research so far
I'm a T-Mobile customer. We have Unlimited Freedom, a sprint plan. When my dad (the account owner) heard of the new plans, we looked at them. I was very surprised to see that Essentials Savings is just Essentials with a few downgrades and no 3rd line free.
Essential savings is cheaper than essentials and is designed around 4 lines for the most part
I've looked at both and compared them.
The Essential Savings it's just Essentials but for $10 less.
And get this.
There was no downgrade in perks at all.
You get the same ones you would get on essentials but for $10 cheaper.
So no they didn't just drop the price and then downgrade the plan.
It still essentially the exact same plan, but for $10 cheaper.
There are no downgrades and the price for 3 lines is the same. You actually save money with 2 lines or 4 + lines.
My husband had the unlimited Freedom plan also. When I saw what he was paying, I compared it to T-Mobile’s current plans. I realized he could get the senior discount and free Netflix and Apple + for basically the same price he was paying. So off we went to the store. The people that work there have always been nice. They switched him over.
I have unlimited freedom and it’s a better value than any other plans on there
Great point on the Taxes and Fees varying where your located. I live in chicago and 911 is a $5 fee per line. Thats not to account for the other fees. Tmobile including taxes and fees is the biggest reason our family sticks to Tmobile (Plus the amazing international feature).
They tried to get me to upgrade from
Magenta to go 5g plus. Instead I downgraded to essential savings and I’ve yet to notice a difference in speeds. It’s fine for my needs.
Really no notice in speeds?
@@sicjdjjaI have that essentials and it sux, it’s why I upgraded to go5g plus
They even raised the first responder plans by 10.00 each. I’m good staying with AT&T and visible.
The whole announcement they had was simply to disguise the fact they raised prices. :/
It didn’t go up $10. It went up $5 a line like every other T-Mobile plan type
Yes sir
@Stetson Doggett Bru you don't even tell the truth! The plans was 75 with a 5 autopay discount.
AT&T raised prices way more than $5 a month with no changes. They also raised devices to 36 months instead of t mobile’s 24
I love these videos!
Your channel helps create informed consumers!
Thanks to Stetson, I am a happy customer of US Mobile since September! Very happy!
I am happy to hear that, Jess! :)
I work for Tmobile and your my cheat code. Always dropping jewels 💪🏿💪🏿
Wish I discovered your channel way long before, just started watching the plans podcast w Dennis and catching up your channel too. that podcast show I love and wish it didn’t go away 😔. Def my main go to about phone plans Stetson! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you, Dave! 🙂
Of course, from the esim episode to the last one, great series! At least now I can catch new content when it’s out. I have ONE plan btw 12 lines lol def won’t be giving that up for these higher priced plans 🤷♂️ thank you again for all you do and research 👍
I was waiting for your post about this. Thank you.
You're welcome, Darrell. Thank you for watching!
This video helped me make a decision, I'm in the military and I pay too much with ATT for 4 lines even with their military discount. To be honest Coverage for most leading providers is pretty much on par the same in the US.
Plus you got to remember with the higher tier plans you become priority my service never slows down ever no matter if I use 160 gigs or a hundred it doesn't matter
Saved money by switching to Stetson's reviews! Thank you!
I just changed my phone plan to Go5G Plus BEFORE watching your video, just based on the description of the plan. I spend a lot of time traveling, especially to Mexico and I need all the extra GBs I can get of hotspot data and regular data. Totally worth it to me. I've run out before and ended up having to purchase a data pass for $50. Don't want to do that again. Besides that the plan gives more data for international visits in most countries.
Thanks for your tutorial
That's what I was looking for. Thanks,
Excellent video! Thanks
To add on, T-Mobile also offers a range of plans specifically designed for business customers. These plans may include features like unlimited data, international calling, and device management tools tailored for businesses.
THANK YOU for making these videos!!!
T-Mobile also updated metro by t mobiles plans shortly after they did this as well they added 2GB of hotspot for the 40 dollar plan increase the hotspot limit from 5GB to 8GB under $50 plan and increase their hotspot by 5 gigs on their $60 plan from 20 gigs to 25gigs I'm currently a Metro by T-Mobile customer myself and I'm the one that witnessed these changes to their plans
why waste your money when you get the EXACT same service with tello for 29?
AWESOME VIDEO AND REVIEW. BEST I HAVE SEEN! BRAVO!
Good video, great break downs. I may be jumping the video early 9:00 mins in, but a 2 year old best samsung phone trade is usually at the least 800 on new best, at least mine was over a year ago, s22 ultra now
I’ve got 1 line on magenta max & was looking to upgrade to the go5g plus plan & join circledin after that. Should I upgrade or just keep the magenta max before joining circledin? Ty for any advice
Awesome video and great data from your research.
Thank you for including the military pricing! We appreciate it 🙏!
Was waiting for this😀
I came from Sprint. My Plan looks similar to Magenta w/0 AAA and Netflix 5 lines for $150. If I want to upgrade my iphone X, any recommendations? or should I keep this $30/line looks pretty good? Why is the Go+ states $255 per month which works to $51/line
Great review.
Bro good explanation thank you ❤😊
Great Detailed Video
Could you point me in the direction of a good comparison of the old Military One plan (not one plus)? The promo me and my family got was bogo on an eligible phone and get half off a plan (I believe adding a cellular line after the third line is $10)
I’m finding it hard to compare them (the new military plans that is)
Please do this for the business plans as well.
Thank you for the great Video! I'm currently on One Plan paying $30 per line for 4 lines. I need to add another line which cost $20. Is it worth it to upgrade to any of the newer plans and give up the lower $ per line under the One Plan? Thank you!
Sheesh! I’m on ONE plan and pay so much more for my one line lol
What is your opinion on the go 5G business plans? For a small business with 6-10 employees
I saw many iPhone 14/Pro sale on Marketplace and more likely still Carrier Lock. Do you think will ATT and T-Mobile will reactivate if it is Still SIM locked?
i13 and older only simple SIM swap. Does one know the answer to this?
In my case was only $6 higher in toal for all to move from Magenta Max to Go5GPlus So it was worth it. Just to be able to get the better deals. Comes far out cheaper than just buying the phone.
The most annoying thing is that they market these account "upgrades" as getting you access to new phone deals, but then when we actually need a new device, all the deals are for a new account type so we never get to take advantage of these "deals".
yes you can qualify, most of the time you just need to trade in a phone
@@zeno7244 no, now you need the new go5gplus accounts to get the good deals on phones.
I'm on a grandfathered simple choice plan from long ago. I use lots of data and use mobile Hotspot often with my S23 Ultra. Do you think it would be a good idea to upgrade my plan to the 90$ one?? Or should I stick with my current plan??
Good question. I’m on the grandfathered ONE plan.
@@ivyfeenix How much do you pay monthly?
T-mobile may hurt themselves by raising their prices. They’ve always been known for having the best deals with their plans. Their coverage is not the best. Honestly I feel they have no business raising prices when they still have a lot of work to do with the network. Also ppl have stay when them because they were budget friendly. Take that away and ppl go to the next cheaper network
You also have to understand coverage is based on where you live
I kind of agree @ sashanj848. T-Mobile is not perfect the way they claimed the 5G work’s supposed to be and not to mention the dropping calls. It sucks that they increase the price. After all, that was the reason that I stayed with them for many years because nobody can beat their prices. Not to mention, the 5 dollars off per line if you sign an automatic pay with a credit card they took it out, unless you use your debit card. Now, why in the world would you do that after 20 years of history together? T-Mobile should be able to tell which customers were able to pay consistently or not. The bottom line is someone in a high position is getting greedy. I’m still searching for a better plan; though, I haven’t studied Mint mobile yet, otherwise, I'll end up signing with Verizon Can you hear me now?
I have TMobile 55+ with 3 lines and I don't get the good trade in values . I believe it's the essential one . I need to keep my cost low but I love the upgrade every 2 years what do you think I should do. Help
Thank you so much for doing all of this effort
You’re welcome :)
So it more saveing if you have Multiple lines regardless does it help if it has 2 lines?
Best video ever bro thanks!
VERY INFORMATIVE
The T-Mobile plan is the MAGENTA MAX 55+ Plan. I believe my plan offers much more for then T-MO’s newest plans, so I’ll stick with the current plan that I have. Great UA-cam video!
Please do an in-depth explaination of the best plan for people who travel to Europe.
I've traded 2 phone in at&t for iphone 13 pro and samsung flip 3 , they said they're going to deduct $800 on the iphone 13 pro and $800 for the samsung flip 3, but after 1 and half year of paying I've noticed that I'm still paying the total monthly bill for both phone and there's really no deduction of $800 each for trade in. I even got an iPhone 12 mini because they said it's $1 only per month for 36 months, but when I checked my bills, I'm paying $17 a month on iphone 12 mini a month and not $1 a month.
I'm on the One plus plan with 2 lines and it's exactly what I need.
If you travel a lot then I would say the plan itself is a good deal. I just switched and I travel a lot. If you are grandfathered jump 1.0 I would stick with it. However jump 2.0 would upgrade.
Thanks I’ll have to look but still on a legacy sprint plan from the merger
I'm satisfaction with the $108 a monthly Magenta Max plan I originally signed up for when it first came out and now I'm sad it's no longer available anymore for new customers.
Is the "New in Two" the same thing as being on Magenta Max and upgrading your phone every 2 years using it as trade-in (when EIP is paid off) and doing it when the new phone comes out (better deals)? When new phones release the deals are usually: "~$800 off with new line or with device trade-in"
Probably now they'll only have the top deals for Go5G+ customers only and other plans only get half
Hi Stetson Doggett, would you make a video tutorial on the recent cancellation of credit card payment discounts by T-Mobile. Also show up offer tips on alternative payment methods to continue receiving discounts. Thank you! What is the best way to keep discounts with out checking accounts 🙏🙏
When it comes down to people, getting new phones and wanting the best deals, you will have to go onto the gold plus 5G plan as you will have an overall total cheaper bill rather than sticking to a legacy plan and getting almost half of the promotion or less, and your bill will be more expensive. They do this on purpose to get you to go to the new plants.
I switched to Verizon and I'm loving it. T-Mobile has way too many issues way too often and they don't even bother giving people credits when they mess up. Also I'm paying less for the same plans I have the $90 and their 5g internet with TMobile I was paying around $150 for everything and with Verizon im paying $131 they give you a massive discount on the internet when you have the $90 plan. The one thing that I've noticed is that T-Mobile does have more 5g coverage. But Verizon gets service in areas where TMobile is completely deadzoned and I haven't had any random dropped calls on Verizon like I did with TMobile
Can you make a video from comparing the jump 2.0 plan?
I’m was feelin that Go 5G plus plan being a former Metro by T-Mobile customer I got tired of so many dropped calls so the go 5G plus is gonna be much better. It’s gonna be a little more costly at $95 but I’m willing to pay for that for Better coverage.
Essentials Savings with 4 lines is $100/mo plus taxes and fees. It looks to be a very good value, for as long as it's available.
Hey Stetson Doggett , I have a question. what is the BEST family service plan for 4 lines, and what phones are available to us if we switch carriers?
Here’s my video on the best families plans! It should help you out - ua-cam.com/video/0tsgr2wvZZI/v-deo.html
@@StetsonDoggett thank you 🙏
Good Job ... Great Info
I currently have T mobiles unlimited freedom and was looking at the essentials savings (just 1 line). Is it the same price? Or are there hidden fees for the essentials plan/just a promotion. I use 50gb of data and would need that and unlimited talk and text.
Great video I just thinking about if I should switch or not but now I’m not
Glad I could help :)
I'm still on the T-Mobile ONE Plan from years ago (3 lines + 2 data devices, Netflix incl) for $159 with autopay. I'm good.
I’m currently on the magenta 55+ plan and haven’t had any issues at all it’s been 2 years + now but if they try to raise my prices I’ll be switching faster than a flea on a dog
im currently on the magenta max plan and the 2 changes that are nice and notiiceable in my opinion is the increase in data in canada and mexico and the new in two deal that you can upgrade every 2 years, it is nice but i might just stick with the the max, cause yea the increase of data in international countries are nice but me personally i only go to canada only for a week thats it and the new in 2 is nice but the phones these days arent taking giant leaps every 2 years, like i have the S22 ultra and the 23 ultra is not that different exept for inprovements on the camera, and i dont think the S24 will be a big difference i might just wait till the S25 to upgrade.
I’m also currently on Magenta Max and the price increase would be insane. None of the perks would benefit me at all and the upgrade every 2 years would be cool but the huge price difference makes me not want to do it.
I'm on the max and I can upgrade every two years? Why can't ya upgrade every 2 years?
I do want to let everyone know you do keep any and all promotions if you switch to Go5G Plus. Regardless of how old it is.
Thank you
Great, Did you get that in writing from T-Mobile…?
It is true, you don't lose that promotion like for a example a free line if you switch with go 5g plans.
@@CECE1839 it is actually stated in our C2 documents. Which is basically T-Mobile law for promotions, information, and all. It’s our holy bible to some extent.
My current T-Mobile plan. 5 Lines (3 of them with an internet). Monthly cost $108 (taxes included).
Your analysis is amazing! How many people on our staff to get this data?
It’s just me! 😅
@@StetsonDoggett The detail and accurate
documentation is so refreshing. Thank you Stetson!
What you aren't accounting for in this video is another major change and that is the promotion tier for devices available. They could be improved dramatically for customers on magenta max
Are there in any cost savings Hotspot stand alone plans (100 GB or better) available from either carrier?
Not from a main carrier. If cost saving is what you want, then virtual network operator carriers - some of them have a few lower priced plans.
I’ve been with T-Mobile for 5 years on a One plan unlimited 55 plan with 2 lines. I recently bought a new iPhone 15 and didn’t trade in my old 8 plus because I’d have to change plans. Now my son took his phone to Verizon so they are saying I as a single phone user will pay less ($70) for the Go5G 55 plus plan. But right now I’m paying $80 for 2 lines and a watch. The new plan does not sound better and they never told me what my current phone would cost.
Exactly
Its interesting that At&T is taking the value crown when they have always been just as or slightly less expensive as Verizon tbh. I used to work at AT&T and hearing people talk about Verizon they don't understand that you're paying a whole lot more and barely getting much back. T-Mobile in my eyes will always be the best carrier because of what they give extra for the service you get. If you live in a place where T-Mobile gets poor service, you should get Verizon because of the coverage in mote rural areas
Yeah the prices that they're charging now, I call "Verizon prices"
Essentially charging that now makes Verizon a better deal.
If Verizon is reliable in your area they are a better deal with the perks you get.
With the Go 5G+ $800 trade in credit is that per line or total for all lines?
Really good video
can i put in my zipcode and find out what cell carrier to use?
What if I upgrade my device every 3-5 years? Go5G includes taxes and fees while Essentials doesn't. This could end up meaning that Go5G can be potentially cheaper or on par in terms of price, but for more benefits, at least for a single line.
thank you for this, after being with V since analog days 1999 Im nervous as hell, I just switched to T because of the 55+ hotspot 50gb & great price on the s24+ I hope to god my international set up will be ok in Ukraine, Moldova, Poland. in any case V has some great international so I stayed even though I had some crazy troubles with bills when I got home, (most folks do) I hope those days are OVER! Ukraine here I come again in April.
Thank you!
You're welcome, Mark!
This is so confusing. For 2 lines I pay $90 a month on essentials. My iphone is paid off but I’m planning on getting the iPhone 15 when it comes out. Should I switch to go56 plus when I upgrade?
I have being with Tmobile for 22 years now my 2 line package has being grandfather. ATT prices keep going up and up plus they don't include taxes and all kind of fees
Can you please compare military plans?
You the man, Stetson. ty
Just curious....why do you prefer staying on a T-Mobile plan instead of saving money with Mont Mobile which runs on T-Mobile?
I want to ask if paying jump start is really worth it . I dont really trade phone i rather buy new phone instead of traiding , im paying 18 dollars for that insurance ,in using ny phone for almost 2 yrs now and i dont really have problem so i dont know if paying insurance really worth it
I switch from T-Mobile as a 9 year customer to Verizon and I’m so glad! T-Mobile deprioritizes your data even when your data restarts at the beginning of the month. With Verizon it’s been nothing but buttery smooth data with no slow downs. I wish I would have switched sooner!
Wanted to mention all the free lines and insider do carry over to the new plan automatically
This is great to know! Just wanted to error on the side of caution in case something happened :)
Apple seems to partner with U.S. carriers to make launch month by far the best time to upgrade your iPhone for most people. I am currently on Magenta MAX with the 3rd line free (3 lines total) and I pay $140/mo. total after all discounts, I believe. It’s hard to tell because I also have an iPad on Magenta with 10 GB hotspot data, and an Apple Watch, too, but I think the iPad’s Magenta plan is +$20, the hotspot data is +$10, and the watch is +$10. Now, because I upgraded from an iPhone XS Max to an iPhone 14 Pro Max on launch day on this plan, I got $1000 off instead of the $205 trade-in value of the device, and since my mom broke her iPhone SE (2nd gen), had it repaired and upgraded to an iPhone 13 mini simultaneously, she got $500 off after $130 repair (or $370 off really) instead of getting no discount or sale revenue for a cracked SE. However, the fine print of our plan says we can only do these upgrades 4 times, and that’s that. We’ve used up two of them, and my dad is still on iPhone XR, which he’s happy with for now, but wishes he could use precision finding with AirTag. If he upgrades, and if I upgrade again, I suspect we won’t get upgrade deals anymore until we switch to the more expensive Go5G Plus plan, or maybe they’ve already taken the upgrade promotion away from Magenta MAX for good - I don’t know. Anyway, for this year, Magenta MAX appears to be fantastic value for my family compared even with senior pricing on Verizon, and usually T-Mobile’s data service is good where I happen to be, though call quality tends to leave me wanting more. Appreciate the analysis!
