2 things:
1. What happened to Mint Mobile? Why is it no longer in your list?
2. Actually not all phones work with the US carriers. Example, before I've several Chinese brand Androids as well as Samsung. I keep missing calls, receiving text messages delayed. Only iPhone and Pixel works well. Maybe to clarify I've only tested this with Mint Mobile.
you don't mention tellos, it has a couple of unlimited plans under 25...
I am just now trying Visible and their 15 day free trial.
I'd like to say Visible is good, but the reality is the internet speed is around 11 mb in a location where T-Mobile offers around 177 mb. Phone call audio sounds like the speaker phone is on when it is not.
I have tested Visible now in several locations and never found fast internet speed.
Take the free trial and test for yourself.
The main Visible advantage is the cost, which is more than half that of T mobile.
I’ve had every single plan you have listed. While they all have their pros and cons, US Mobile was the win for me. 35gb of priority Verizon data, 10gb wifi for 29 bucks including taxes and fees was the best.
I love that plan, too. It's what I recommend to all my friends.
US mobile and Visible are both fantastic plans if you want access to Verizon. It ultimately comes down to very minor details but I like to support a MVNO like US mobile since they continue to do the right thing for customers.
That being said I’m not the right target for US mobile because I use too much data from running Speedtests and wouldn’t want to abuse such a good service
I’m on the same plan and i love it. I’m just debating on getting Visible + due to its only 16$ more to never worry about data and completely unlimited on 5GUW that doesn’t go towards your 50GB of priority 🤷♂️
I grabbed 2 lines for $90. I always stream on the go. I came back after att went out 3 times in the past 2 months in my area. A rep told me us mobile will have att soon.
Mint mobile is better. Plus you missed boost mobilw
I've used Metro for over 10 years
Never had an issue. Paying $90 for 2 lines
I just switched to US Mobile 3 days ago and so far it's a whole lot better than Straight Talk and for nearly half the price.
Appreciate your commitment to this channel. Going to Costco on a Saturday at 2pm to show us the affects of prioritized speed, should get you some kind of award!
Hahaha, thank you, Jim!
Locked in on the visible $45 dollar plan. When they announced all the changes almost 2 years ago, you could get the plan with a permanent 10 dollars off so I have been only rocking $35 dollars a month for almost 2 years now. Love it.
Im switching my kids to us mobile at $180 each per year and bring myself to visible+ annual plan and expected to save around $50 per month = $600 per year of savings and with the same great network.
Let's goooo 🙌🏻 🎉
Nice! My kid is finally old enough to work. She pays her own bill now. Us mobile promo plan for iPhone 15 activation. $12.50/mo for 25gb for 1 year.
It’s sad that probably a lot of people just figure that you have to use a big company for service, and financing a phone through them is just “what you do”. Thanks for spreading the good word in such a clear way!
THANK YOU! I'm glad you clarified the att plan. I knew there was a reason I couldn't find it! This is why I'm a proud follower! Now I'm considering the $65 plan! I use a ton of data, and don't mind paying for priority! That's about what I was paying for postpaid with same access after discounts.
I think priority data may be underappreciated. As demonstrated in the speed test outside Costco it is often the difference between having usable data and not having usable data
I think it varies so much based on location and time of day. For most people, I don't think it matters most of the time. But you're right, during the times it does matter it can be the difference between usable speeds and unusable speeds! I think a challenge is determining how often/likely those situations will occur for each person.
For me, priority data means I can use my phone at a congested intersection or at a grocery store. As a gig worker, I encounter a lot of congested intersections.
US Mobile is excellent and highly recommend. A couple things to note with US Mobile: 1. In order to get priority data on Verizon, your phone must support 5G UWB (you don’t have to be connected to 5G UWB to get priority data, your phone just has to be _capable_ of connecting to Verizon’s 5G UW). 2. On the T-Mobile network you also get international roaming. Again, highly recommended.
I’m glad you went in depth about priority data across the 3 major carriers!! Great video.
This video was incredibly insightful. A couple of months ago I opted to get Mint Mobile because I got 3 months for $45. Great deal! The only issue with that is once you hit your priority data limit of 40 GB your data speeds drop so bad. It's like 2G or 3G speeds. It's terrible. I have since gone back to visible and I have the visible plus plan. What I did not know is that you get unlimited priority data when you're on the 5G ultra wideband coverage which is perfect cuz that's what I have in my area. So the 12-month plan is not bad cuz you're saving like 145 bucks a year and it's better than going on Verizon directly.
Thank you very much for making this video. Great information!
Thanks for your channel and all your hard work. I'm not generally a fan of AT&T, but they have the best coverage in my city and especially in my semi-rural neighborhood. I'm on Ting, but I may just have to switch to Cricket using the $25/mo unlimited plan. Turns out it's the talk minutes I'm using that make my current Ting plan not so great. Besides, I think it's good to change every so often.
Great as always. Thank you.
ima go with cricket and have that unlimited priority for 55 dollars is a steal
att “priority” data sucks. You’re way over paying for service. US Mobile 29 plan is the way to go.
@@earlusmcdivett US Mobile isn't unlimited high speed data though. People signing up for that Cricket plan want more priority data.
Unlimited with 480p max video? Pass
@@Oldasianguyeasy enough to work around.
@@saerend9905 for me, it's easier to pay a few dollars extra.
Thanks Stetson! Any thoughts about the post-paid Tmo Essentials Saver single line plan? Looks like it comes with priority data now too..anything re QCI we should be concerned about?
It turns out Essentials Saver is deprioritized. I’d consider opting for the T-Mobile Prepaid $50 plan instead.
@@StetsonDoggett Got it thanks!
What do you suggest about the 30$ plan from metro by t mobile?
Should i change that plan and if so to which?
As well as which are the best plan for 2 line?
In Saskatchewan Canada I'm on Telus Mobility. Just picked up a new plan for $85cad/mo for 200gb of Canadian and USA data with no overage cha4ges but speeds are throttled greatly. Unlimited text and call in CND and USA speeds up to 2gbps if using 5g+ which I have but have that radio turned off. On the LTE+ network I can pull over 150mbps down pretty well all the time. Also get unlimited intl texting and a year of Disney+.
I’ve been on Mints unlimited plan for 3 months now here in Los Angeles and I must say that it’s pretty good for its price.
I'm surprised the premium us mobile plan isn't there. Have had it for a while and it's been great. 100gb priority data at it's price point with 50 gb of hotspot is excellent at it's price point
The reason I moved away from Visible was the HORRIBLE support. There's nothing that would motivate me to move back. In addition, I've yet to go over 100GB in a month.
That is another great plan! I was trying to be more selective, and I felt Visible was a bit better of an overall value.
it is not unlimited it stops at 100gbs and slows down horribly.
@@A42yearoldARAB that would apply to many others as well
@A42yearoldARAB they all do that except the carrier plans, but most of those have zero priority Data
I think you are right when it comes to data on the T-Mobile network or att. Both run very well without the priority tag .
That is what I have found! I'm excited to do more thorough testing soon.
@@StetsonDoggett on att lte around Ithaca college I usually get 180-330 with mid 40 ping. Us mobile gsm is around 500 and 30 ping. So I can attest and verify your comment at least here. I need the extra push with Verizon. Otherwise 1-3 mps and high ping
@StetsonDoggett please do a video explaining this
Thanks
I've tried Mint ( deprioritized T-Mobile ), the fluctuation was wild. It maybe fast closer to a tower and away from people, but once in a crowded area, it goes back to dial-up connection speed.
I paid my phone off with AT&T and then got an order from spectrum for a year of free spectrum mobile 😂
change to visible+ annual plan 31$ per month soooooooooooooooooooooo good
I pulled the trigger on the annual Visible +. Great value and priority data.
hows it been so far ?
@@EstaDePiPi Solid. In my area Verizon is the best and getting to use Verizon towers is a win. Plus I get LTE on my Apple Watch Ultra included.
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
I have 5 lines, they all have $18/Month protection plans, that's $90 a month, any suggestions as alternative protection plans, with & without loss protection?
Love the channel. And i know this is a big ask, but if you published cell phone deals, (free or just great deals) might be more video ideas. These carriers always do something to get new subs.
Great suggestion!
Honestly Boost Infinite plan is amazing. I love having the newest iPhone Pro or Samsung Ultra for my android friends. (Hope they bring the Pixels as an option too) and deprioritize ATT and T-Mobile coverage like the old Project Fi has been amazing. I was alittle worried going from Verizon to Boost but in my area Verizon is honestly not that great. Plus a completely insuranced Pro with unlimited data for $77 after taxes in my state is amazing.
I love your channel stay humble and stay blessed ❤
Visible Base and Visible+ both are in our house and the best in the area. Unlimited hotspot data.
I like that at&t's broadband facts look like nutrition information
does your app also work for wifi providers ?
@StetsonDoggett What are your thoughts on Spectrum?
Watching this on Verizon’s 5G network and Verizon is the only network that I can get good service on at my house and on my plan that runs on Verizon I get 25GB of high speed data on my iPad and iPhone both and my plan allows me to connect to Verizon’s 5G network on my ipad 10 and I can use all my data for hotspot and I have no cap on speeds or video quality and I can use all my data for hotspot phone and iPad and it’s uncapped
man I love your videos always so informative, help me out with mint mobile
Glad to hear it! 😃
i want to buy a samsung S24, samsung on their website has monthly payments but when i checkout it just says €620 (the original price) how do i do the monthly payments instead?
How does Consumer Cellular fare against these?
I have the annual visible plus 2.0 plan. It is worth it
US mobile has a $50 unlimited plan with 100gb priority data
How does this compared to the Veterans ONE plan by Tmobile?
Stetson do you still think FirstNet cost wise is a great option for a single user? Thanks if you could reply n take care of
Yes, FirstNet is a great option for a single user!
@@StetsonDoggettDo you recommend FirstNet over Visible + annual given coverage is similar in my area?
we love Visible 45$ plan , cuz we travel a lot to Mexico and works perfect in roaming even in border like Mexicali and Tijuana
How are the 3g speeds after using the 2gbs of premium data? Are they usable down in Mexico?
Quitting Verizon soon so I’m going with visible.
Ever consider trying Tello Mobile for a review?
Hey Stetson any chance you can add a filter for BYOD ? Seems like most carriers have a whitelist for only phones they approve via sales in their own stores. Thanks!
Hey palololol, my understanding is that most carriers accept most phones for BYOD! The phones just need to be unlocked and compatible with the underlying network. For example, you could BYOD to any of the plans I mention in this video. Are there other carries you have heard of that are more restrictive?
@@StetsonDoggett Verizon and AT&T are more restrictive with allowing international phones to be brought in on their plans (they refuse to activate certain devices citing VoLTE incompatibility for example). T-Mobile is the most lenient one, both natively and via MVNOs.
You havent mentionwd mint mobile in awhile. Did sometjing happen?
I have the AT&T unlimited max plan. I pay $57 with tax. No complaints at all. I would love visible but Verizon’s coverage sucks here
Real question. How do you pay only $57 if the plan is $55 + taxes?
Never mind, I went for it $56.70
Taxes vary a LOT by state and city, so it is possible to get the plan for a lower price!
@@AJmrtnsdo you recommend the plan? It sounds like a great plan. How does it hold up during times of congestion? TIA
No Helium Mobile?
I think Mint Mobile for $30 per month on an annual plan is better than Cricket or Metro, what was your reason for putting those ahead? I get crazy fast speeds often through T-Mobile base network 5G.
Mint isn't unlimited
Mint will throttle to 512Kbps after 40GB. Metro and Cricket will only have slower speeds during congestion and it would be rare to see them as low as 512Kbps at that point anyway. You also have to prepay a year in advance for Mint to get the lowest pricing and not everyone wants to be locked in.
I selected Cricket and Metro's plans because they give you truly unlimited high-speed data on their respective networks.
Mint's plan is a good value, however it comes with just 40GB of high-speed data before slowing down to 512Kbps.
Taxes and fees bring Mint's plan closer to $33.88 per month.
IMO I feel US Mobile's Unlimited Starter plan for $29 is a better value on the T-Mobile network (you pay monthly instead of yearly very similar features), and Metro's plan gives you unlimited high-speed data at a better price ($25 with taxes and fees included).
If you're going to do an annual plan, Visible+ may even be a decent option because it would cost about the same as Mint's plan and have additional features.
@@StetsonDoggett thanks for your prompt reply! I was disappointed with Visible's service, but Mint has been hit or miss as well. I don't ever get to 40 GB so that is probably why I don't see that as an issue but would be for others. I am interested in adding Apple Watch at some point, so may have to switch anyway.
Visible is fine when it works. I've tried moving my SIM to a different phone and according to Visible "the SIM got corrupted". I switched to eSIM and after 3 hour chat got it to work on an Pixel 8. Then when I tried to move eSIM to iPhone 12 - after a 4 hour chat it is still not working. So yeah, I take Visible with a grain of salt. P.S. Just signed up for a 15 day trial with Cricket and was up and running in 3 minutes. Visible, get your eSIM act together.
Visible mailed me a new SIM card - sometimes I like popping in a SIM to test out a new phone and transfer from eSIM to SIM has gotten stuck. This is my final straw with Visible - no more chatting for 4 hours at a time trying to get my phone line going - I have made a switch to Cricket $25 (with taxes for eSIM it comes out to 25.91a month) plan. Let's see how quickly Cricket can get me on line (phone number port in progress) and I'll be on my merry way. Cricket service was as good or usually better than what Visible was providing in my 2 week test in Los Angeles area plus Cricket plan supports roaming in Mexico and Canada (which I use) and I never use hotspot so it is a win win in my opinion.
What is the best phonei only have one eye what would be best phone for me
Cricket wireless already removed their 260$ multi dollar bulk plan now is only the 3 month bulk plan and the 360$ bulk plan
Metro's $25 plan u can add $10 to get HD streaming for all apps making the plan $35, just wished they had a $5 smartwatch fee making it $40 and beats visibles $45 plan
im with visible basic plan right now and alot of towers are overloaded and i get 10kbpswhich means the phone becomes useable until the traffic slows down on the towers, after really thinking about it i think i may just switch to Visible+ seems like the beat deal overall since u have true unlimited data on 5GUW BUT that 480p crap is super lame cause what if u need to facetime or video chat in gen, idk a VPN might fix that but at the same time ur speeds are super slowed down while on a VPN and not counting the bad ping times and ping loads
Make a video about helium and also about affirm
@StetsonDoggett reply please🫠
Are you going to talk about the new Metro Flex plans? first time prepaid gives you free phone deals every year, although I think they're pretty pricey.
Probably why they're not talked about. They're literally offering 3 year old iphones 😂
Question with any of the prepaid atnt plans, do you get 5G+ or nah?
I'd love to know that too
I work for AT&T. All AT&T plans come with 5G+ access. You don't have to pay extra for a more expensive plan to get that with us. Hope you have been enjoying the network!!
@@MatthewUrquhart77 i have bren thinking about switching to atnt so thank you. But i have another question. If you use a prepaid service can you still use those atnt deals for thr phones?
AT&T Prepaid includes 5G+. Unfortunately, none of the AT&T Prepaid plans are eligible for smartphone deals.
How can a plan be 'Unlimited High Speed' yet deprioritized at the same time?
Yeah, I thought carriers on the past got fined for advertising "unlimited" while playing arbitrary restrictions on service. Sounds like there needs to be another lawsuit regarding truth in advertising and not allowing them to cop out in the fine print.
cant wait to leave t-mobile soon its not working that well in my area...
what about mint mobile? where did that go??
what about US mobile's Premium unlimited plan for priority data? $37.50 a month for 50gb with a annual upfront?
Personally, I feel Visible+ is a bit better of a value, which is why I selected it for this video. That said, I think US Mobile has a better overall experience, and their Unlimited Premium plan is another excellent option!
Have you looked into the Spectrum deal. Two lines, in their premium plans, for $25/line with anytime phone upgrades?
How much is it for one line though
@@BruhHowDidIGetHere What I know is unlimited is $29.99/line. Unlimited plus, which includes, anytime upgrades, is $39.99/line. They do offer a by the gig at $15/line, but I stay away from it. Their best deal is for 2 lines for unlimited plus at $25/line. I have several lines with them but at the time I had a get 2 lines and the 3rd is free promotion. This one just came out last week.
What about taxes and fees each month?
Yeah, but not everyone is a spectrum customer. There are a lot of other internet providers. And then, not everyone has home internet. For some, it's an unnecessary cost.
@@Oldasianguy That can be said from any other carrier, but that doesn't mean it can't be an option either. I think it's worth mentioning because a lot of people DO have spectrum.
Big fan of ATT unlimited Max prepaid plan, I switched from VZW to ATT because of this plan, cut my cell bill in half.. I will never get a postpaid plan with phone installments again.. so expensive..
How do you port in your number to Att Unlimited Max prepaid?
How is congestion where you live with that plan? That plan sounds like a catch!
@@matt_matthew77 I’m actually in a main city, New Orleans.. ATT is very prominent here and I have no issues with slow down in speeds. I get on 82Mbps down and 16mbps up 5G+ in the heart of the city. Outside the city speeds are much better, 409mbps down and 73mbps up in surrounding areas, I live in Jefferson parish. I never go over 50GB so I don’t worry about deprioritization and I never go over 25GB hotspot. The plan works great for me, I use a iPhone 13 mini. Hope that helps!
what is the website?
You know, there really needs to be a crowdsourced map that clearly shows the delta in deprioritization performance in all locations and at all times of day. How else can potential customers reliably make a decision on whether a deprioritized service is worthwhile in the areas they care about? Surely, there are with customers with both "premium" and deprioritized service that can submit this crucial data? Over time, the analytics should be able to paint a decent picture of what customers can expect. If there's anything AI is good for, it's teasing out trends in disparate datasets.
Metro just updated their plans and they brought back the Amazon Prime perk.
I need to do a video on that!
I don’t see the video about the VPN linked?
Thanks! I just added it! You can watch it here:
ua-cam.com/video/Rme2S4Ivio4/v-deo.html
@@StetsonDoggett thank you!
You spoke above priority on lte and 5g nationwide and wide band
Please make a video to explain all these things
Thanks
A quick Google search has the explanation.
@@Oldasianguy but why is priority only important on lte and only on Verizon?
@@user-wi5dx2uw4s because tmobile has more capacity than Verizon. Because Verizon has less capacity, priority is more important.
@@user-wi5dx2uw4s this is all dependent on your usage areas. If you don't have a congested tower, priority is a moot point.
What’s the best value home internet service plans ?
If you can get frontier paying 24.99 for 500mbs up and down
Idk. You never mention Helium mobile which has 35 gb unlimited on the T mobile network plus 5gb of hotspot for only $20. I assume you don’t list this because they won’t do affiliate codes but that makes me question why you are pushing visible so much. So many people have said there are horrible headaches with visible.
I will stick with the OG Visible $35+ plan until they pry it out of my dead hands.
No Mint Mobile?
I think you forgot about Walmart Family Mobile from Verizon. Truly unlimited with 30gb Hotspot. $49.99, but everything is already deprioritized. 720p HD Streaming on 5G UW, but 480p SD standard. With the Safelink benefit, it'll be $10 cheaper. But the major con is that once it hits 295gb, then it'll be further deprioritize. But the customer service is piss poor.
What is the best phone
What's the best T-Mobile unlimited plan if you BYOD and don't like the selection of phones that T-Mobile sells?
Metro in that case.
You may consider Metro by T-Mobile's $25 unlimited plan: www.bestphoneplans.net/plans/metro-by-t-mobile-unlimited-new-customers
@@StetsonDoggett Thanks I'll look into them. Does that change if you have a multi-line account with 3 or 4 lines?
@@grocerylistNo, it’s $75/month for 3 lines or $100/month for 4 lines up to a possible 5 lines ($125/month) per Metro by T-Mobile account.
Wheres mint mobile ? 😢
I switched to us Mobile because of your videos. Went from $65 a month to $33 a month for both me and my fiancee
Happy to hear you're saving some money :)
So basically the best of the best would be Visible Plus for the year.
I wish we could make it more clear that the additional fees that these companies charge are almost all surcharges imposed by the vendor. Calling it tax makes it sound like they're just collecting required government taxes. They're not. These fees are a way for them to advertise one price while charging a higher price.
You can see the estimated cost of most plans after all taxes and fees on my website using the Compare Plans page: www.bestphoneplans.net/compare-plans
Why do you think that priority data doesn’t matter on T-Mobile, or AT&T
T-Mobile and AT&T have enough network capacity so that speeds are consistently usable on the network regardless of your priority level.
Cricket's Unlimited high speed for $300 a year in advance? What's the catch?
They suck if you travel you will lose service
@@dodgeram1500tn I think you're referring to traveling outside of the US.
@@firedragon757b5 no that’s just in TN I was trying there 14 day trail out on my iPhone and I got t-mobile and got service were cricket doesn’t.
Not sure how much I trust these maps. I have Verizon, used to work for them. I always have coverage, they are expensive. I do think the cheaper carriers pay for advertising coverage speeds. Companies have been doing that for years. There is a reason Verizon is the most expensive, also the Gov uses Vzw bc it’s superior.
Why doesn't priority data matter on T-Mobile?
Because their 5G speeds are consistently good regardless of plan due to their coverage and bandwidth.
helium mobile is what is best for me
Us mobile eSIM swap is a disaster. It was so bad I left. Went back to Verizon
Anything would be cheaper than Verizon postpaid service. Literally anything. After taxes and fees each month Verizon post-paid service is over $80/month for a single line.
Verizon is just the best, no complain about them❤️🤝
For real
US mobile is not unlimited data within 35 gb of priority data
us mobile has a 1 year unlimted for 180 which is 15 a month
That's another great option!
Yo
What is up Kazi!!
What up
I would go with the cheapest plans first.
switching to visible because metro by T-Mobile is ass …
Verizon maybe High best is the best
What about Tello and Helium Mobile?
Those plans do not offer truly unlimited data. Tello's plan comes with 35GB of high-speed data before slowing your speeds down to -128Kbps- 256Kbps, and Helium Mobile's plan includes 30GB of high-speed data.
Both use T-Mobile for coverage, and on the T-Mobile network I personally would choose US Mobile Unlimited Starter or Metro by T-Mobile as slightly better options.
Just my opinion though! Tello and Helium are by no means a bad value.
@@StetsonDoggettTello is 256Kbps on the unlimited plan now but yeah, same point.
Thank you! I should have checked my own website to confirm before I commented lol.
Visible, Cricket, Metro, Boost, Mobile X? 480p streaming? This is a joke right? I know you did your research but I have 6 devices on my plan and pay only $250 and have 4k streaming, Netflix, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, Google Play, Discovery+, Hulu, and Disney+, all included.
What plan do you have?
Great video! Nice to see Metro on there now. Metro has an eSIM activation portal as well where the $30 ($25 with autopay) plan can be gotten.

That app asks for too many permissions it doesn’t need 🤨🤨🤨
Too expensive overall
BEWARE! the hold music on us mobile's cust service line is the exact same music used by all the aggressive scam telemerketing calls. it's the same call center!!!!
Lol. Are you for real? You didn't take a moment to think about the fact that the hold music might come from the equipment vendor? 🤦♂️
Pretty bold of you to assume it's the same call center just because of the music. Also who cares if their customer service is actually good?
