Agreed. I still can't understand why Flash Gordon TV movie has not been released on DVD. The Saturday morning version aside, I believe it was Filmation's finest hour. There's a version of it here on UA-cam from TV broadcast but not greatest quality. King Features Syndicate are you listening?
@retrobites: Could you also upload Pandamonium? And what was that show called again with three musicians: Klaus, Spaghetti and Meatball? That would be so cool!
The music is created by Yvette Blais and Jeff Michael--the respective pseudonyms of Ray Ellis and Norm Prescott, who did the music for Filmation esp. from the late 1960s to the early 1980s (think esp. the noted music for Star Trek TAS, but also Tarzan and Flash Gordon). See 22:27 - 22:28.
@@sail2byzantium Just to add Yvette Blais is actually name of Ray Ellis wife and Jeff Michaels are respective first names of producer, Norm Prescott's sons.
19:00, When I was seven, I was wondering which bad guy, or in this situation, girl, if you would call her that was responsible for what is bout to happen in this scene. And now I know. An evil clone of yourself made of pure energy instead of DNA. Way before holograms, and digital images. In 1977, no less. Who knew?
I wish this would get a remake or even a comic book. Also, pretty weird implications that astrias trap involved their computer overlord turning into a snake...?
The memories..on a Saturday morning in 1977...

God I love Filmations slow establishing shots and Scores.
The Young Sentinels was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon, right at 10:30 am it came on NBC. Me and my brothers, watched every episode faithfully.
I thought they came on cbs
هههخ
Filmation was one of the best when I was growing up. I wish they would release a DVD collection of there work.

I want them to bring it back and have a theme park based on the Filmation cartoons.
My favorite Saturday morning show
mine too
Thanks so much loved this as a kid
I was born in 78. Never saw this before. Fucking love it.
I used to watch this when I was a kid back in the 70s.
I love this show
Reality In A Cartoon , Luv It ...
Thanks. Never seen this.
I remember seeing this episode during the show's network run.
Earlier in 1977, there was a movie called "The Sentinel." It probably inspired this show's titles(Young Sentinels/Space Sentinels).
yffggúgggy6 vou
Considering that was a Horror movie, I doubt that very much. The word "sentinel" has been in the lexicon for centuries.

This like star trek meets superman, i used to watch reruns of this way back in 1991, alongside bravestarr
This show is incredible, I really love the music, wish I knew who composed it.

It's discordant and unsettling.

7:33 why he sound like jonathan richmond?
Legion of Superheroes done right.
"The North Pole has vanished."
Kind of predicted the vanishing ice cap by a fair few decades, however unintentionally.
@Retro Heroes 2 Can you upload the whole episode of Pet Squad?
Can you upload The Teen Force? I would appreciate it😊
