I like he's slowly re-embracing his old Jedi skills.
In episode 2,he tapped into The Force to save Lea and has ever since grown stronger by little.
In episode 4, he tapped into his Lightsaber skill and slowly regaining fighting style back
In episode 5, he found somewhat a Jedi robe and he looks more and more like a Jedi. He even handling the situation like when he used to be in command back in Republic days.

I love it how they're finally showing us Obi-Wan's more competent side. Not just in present time, but back in his prime.
He comes off as a senseless disciplinarian in Episode II and his and Anakin's dynamic suddenly healed by Episode III. This explains a bit.
The way they look at each other at the end of the flashback really hits ya in the feels. You feel that brotherly bond they had.

Hayden had reportedly and visibly grew a bit taller between EP2 and EP3(like from only around 6'0 to 6'0.5 range) but since this is Hayden now playing the younger version its the same height as in EP3

Many people won't care abut what I have to say, but I'll say it anyway;
When I was young there was a PS1 SW game that I loved playing with my uncle. He would always pick Qui-Gon and I would always pick Obi-Wan, and back then, I hadn't even watched any SW movies yet, didn't even knew the game was based off of a movie.
When my uncle rented the movie for us to watch I was speechless, to see the characters we played as portrayed in the movie and I cried when Qui-Gon died.
Obi-Wan has been my favorite character in the SW universe ever since then, and whenever I rewatch phantom menace, I always smile fondly of the old days, when me and my uncle would play that blocky PS1 game as master and pupil until the sun rose. Good times. He even wanted to play that game again after seeing this video with me.
So, seeing a whole series being made specifically for Obi-Wan is truly a dream come true for me. It could be better, but its good enough as it is. Now, all me and my uncle need is a series for Qui-Gon, and we're set.

I have something similar but with Princess Leia. I first learned about Star Wars from some friends when I was four or five, and when I asked my dad he pulled up some pictures from the Tantive IV during A New Hope. Specifically, Leia giving Artoo the Death Star plans. The lighting and just the basic concept was so beautiful I instantly fell in love with Star Wars, and I am still a huge fan. Thanks, Dad. I owe you. ❤️

This is like using Legolas in the Hobbit. He hasn't aged badly, but he has aged. And I said "Ewen hasn't" but actually let me change that. Ewen/Obiwan was an adult at the time, and a lot of people don't age from say 25-60, but Hayden was in his early 20s during AotC, so of course he will look very different here.

Obi-Wan was the master then, and proved himself to still be the master in this episode by outwitting Vader. I hope that anyone who feels small in society watches Obi-Wan in action here and realizes that you don't have to be the biggest or loudest to make a difference in society and help a lot of people on the way.
Obi-Wans intelligence and quick thinking saved him in almost every battle.
His move against Maul.
Maybe count throwing his lightsaber to Anakin to keep him in the fight with Dooku a bit longer.
His grabbing the blaster and shooting gracious in the exposed heart.

His fake stance to trick Maul in their final battle.
Yeah I love that they had them still be equals. Anakin got the upper hand by his aggression and merciless style but Obi-Wan subsequently took the lead through his persistence and initiative.

I love how they show that Obi-Wan is still the Master. Showing that even how Anakin has become Vader he still is the learner. I really enjoyed how they went at that quote in ANH "When I left you I was but the learner. Now i am the Master."
The thing Obi-wan never says what HE learnt from Anakin. Obi-wan learnt how to think outside the box when he was scared to his bones after Qui-gon died and that mentality is really representated by his lightsaber form. But being with Anakin slowly made him more open to ideas.

His voice sounds so much better, his acting got a lot better and still has that menancing look that he did a decade ago, i think gals of dudes we missed out on something special here.

I’ve tried to train my mind in to thinking this was between part 2 and 3 and that’s the reason Anakin looks a little older. 😂
It is actually before or during part 2, because in this scenes Anakin doesn’t have his prosthetic arm yet (he lost his arm in the end of part 2 when he was fighting Dooku).

The reason I have it in my mind that it’s between 2 and 3 is because Anakin was able to get the better of Obi Wan during the saber combat. If it was between 1 and 2 I would have a harder time believing it.

The action goes so fast and for most part the sleeve of Anakins robe covers his hands do it’s hard to tell if it was gloves or not? It was the left side wasn’t it? I’ll have to slow the frame rate down and look again.
I hope we get more flashbacks in the upcoming Ahsoka series with younger teenage Ahsoka fighting beside Hayden Christensen as Anakin and Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan. 👍🏻
The look on Anakin's face after the short lecture from Obi-Wan hit me right in the feels. He looks emotionally wounded somehow - imagine the look of a child who thought he'd done a good thing, only to be scolded by a parent. It breaks my heart a little, but it's as it always was: Obi-Wan meant well and was qualified as a teacher, but he missed the mark somehow when it came to actually delivering it to Anakin. I see how Anakin could've seen Kenobi as holding him back.

Hayden's a bit like Sean Bean in LOTR when he then came to Game of Thrones, they immediately come back with that trained in experience so it wouldn't have taken too long, with practice, for him to get it back. And it shows.

They could maybe even have it where Anakin also had a beard. I know it maybe doesn't follow the CGI or cartoon series' but it would be a good way to help Hayden cover up that he's gotten a bit older and it would be something new. Would love to see that with those two though. They should have focused so much more on Anakin and Obi-Wan flashbacks and the contrast in then vs now with him and Vader. And they should have had the Reva reveal so, so much sooner rather than her just acting cringe evil for episode after episode just to turn out to be a tortured soul.

This opening scene of episode 5 brought tears to my eyes. The best episode so far.
Hi, I have to admit this Series has it's flaws BUT, this Episode, Episode Five was very good.
Darth Vader was still obsessed with winning. And furthermore, obsessed with wining against a Top-Level-Trained Jedi. 1.: He was so shocked to see Obi-Wan Kenobi so powerless, so unconnected to the Force, that he let him live after the Fire burn, so that he can escape and maybe regain more power later, so that he, Vader, can fight Obi-wan again and than having an even opponent who will give him a proper fight. (And 2.: He noticed the Droid and Sniper helping Kenobi and know that Obi-Wan has allies and he wanted to follow them to discover there base / location). But this Episode shows us that Anakin / Vaders "will to win over all cost" blinds him. What did Obi said back then on the Temple while Training? Quote: "Your need for victory, Anakin, blinds you." and furthermore: "Your need to prove yourself is your undoing, until you overcome it, a Padawan you will still be." He wanted to prove himself against the old Obi Wan, showing him that he was stronger, he wanted to fight a powerful Obi-Wan, not a "crippled old man". And he wanted to win at all coast. He could hold a Ship with the Force, prevent it from starting and ripping of it's hull. He was so strong, so full of rage. But in Episode 5 "The Empire strikes back", Vader was so much more "intelligent", "more Strategic" more using "Tactics" instead of raw Force. Even starting with Episode 4 "A new Hope". He didn't use raw Force but used a Tracking Device to locate the Rebels Base. (And Idea he got from Reva). And he was not toying with Obi-Wan anymore. He just wanted him dead. Obi-Wan was even older in Episode 4, but Vader learned from his mistakes, here. Therefore it make sense. Vader has chanced from a raw Force user to a intelligent, tactic, strategic using Sith Lord. So it makes sense that he has "overcome it." So he is not longer a Padawan. So it makes Sense, that he says: "When I left you, I was but a learner, now I am a Master" meaning he has learned from the Mistakes from Jabbim. He has overcome his need for victory, that has blinded him since. And the need to prove himself. No Games anymore, no toying around, this time, just wanting to kill Obi-Wan on the Death Star. This Time we would not let him go again, so he Obi-Wan can regain more Power. This Time would be different.
(By the Way.: Little did he know that Obi-Wan now has learned the ways to be one with the Force. To turn into a "Force Ghost". Always a step ahead this Obi-Wan.)
Again: So it makes totally sense that Vader said: "When I left you, I was but a learner." He was a learner. He still has to learn to overcome his "need for victory" that have "blinded" him and furthermore Vaders "need to prove" himself "is" his "undoing". And "until" Vader "has overcome it, a Padawan" he "will still be." But he has since overcome it and now he "was the master". BUT: Only a Master of Evil Darth.
That was my two Cent to it.

I am definitely sold into how they are writing Reva's character as compared to how they did to Rey. I must admit, I am one of those who thought her existence was but another woke nonsense by Disney but as the story unfolds, Reva's arc is truly relatable and believable. Hope Disney keeps her alive and if the time comes that she has to go, she be given ala Ironman's exit. Way to go Disney

I like how Disney will digital remake Mark Hamill to have a younger luke in the Boba Fett series, but didn't simply de-age Hayden's face for these scenes.

I mean, to be fair, de-aging a 70-year-old man to play 29-year-old Luke is probably a bit more of a necessity than this (though, yes, I too would have liked to have seen some work done to it).
Maybe if obi and the Jedi always hold there morality’s above Anakin all the time, and maybe said hey good job, your getting better every once in while he would’ve felt more loved. He grew up in a world of the tough survive before Jedi found him..
Yeah, because Anakin was a told sissy who needed loves and hugs. No he wanted more than just a pat on the head, he wanted to be a master and acknowledged as the best. If you can't see why you don't do that, even if they are the best, you have never been in a position of leadership. Feeding big egos doesn't work. This time they had an entire as Dark Lord of the Sith manipulating the other side, had that not been the case Anakin would have learned the lesson he needed to learn.
The blame of the Jedi takes away at how well calculated Palpatine's manipulations were. Maybe if you weren't a snowflake you'd see that.

Unfortunately, with how UA-cam is, the person may not have had a choice but to do it that way. You don't cut it up drastically, you could very well get the video shot down, especially when it's only been a few hours at most since the episode's release.

Funny thing is nearly everyone Anakin knew had known he was looking for some recognition. Sadly rather then giving his existince a little bit of honor everyone choose to belittle hım for wanting some attention.... Pitty there was no other force community with some pychiatric help.
Well remember he did join what was essentially a warrior monk monastery who from the start advised he definitely not join as the loss of his mother and his freedom from being a slave for so long would make him too fearful of loss. Then his mother was murdered and in a more adult universe probably “raped” when she was kidnapped and he married at the really really young age of 19 another thing the council advised against as they’re monks and meant to be selfless. This reasoning of dis-attachment is also why in our world they don’t allow always spouses to work together especially in gov jobs like as cops.
