I think it's cool that family is the sign with group and "f" - if you link the two "f" handshapes together that means "unity." And I love studying other sign languages and seeing how they sign family - for example, LSM (Mexico Sign Language) their sign refers to shared blood in family. Kind of a cool concept :)
Thanks so much. I took asl in high school. I remember many signs but not perfectly. I want to teach my children. I think it’s so very important for everyone to learn ASL
Thank you for making the ASL hand sign for relative clear. At first glance it looked like the fingers were set up in the H hand sign. By holding up both hands to show the R hand sign you saved me from making a mistake.
SUBSCRIBED!! This is great! My mom, daughter and I are all learning! This is going to help so much! Thank you! Totally binge watching you right now lol
I use the sign "Grandma + girl" to meaning Granddaughter and if grandchildren, use either: 'grandma+grandpa+girl" OR 'grandpa + children' to meaning Grandchildren... I never see much Deaf fingerspell 'grand'... I enjoy seeing variations, thanks. :-)
Hey and good morning...... I'm teaching an ASL 2 course at a public HS as well, and wonder what software you used for your awesome videos?? I need to create video interventions for some of the students, and I love how these look! Simple, accurate, clear. Can you let me know?? Lori [SC:L, CSC]
Many ASL videos on UA-cam lack sound because *ASL is not a spoken language* This should be a really easy concept to understand! When learning the language of the Deaf, the important part is learning the hand motions. You do not need sound. There are other channels that speak in English while they sign if you really need someone to explain them to you, but if you ever communicate with a Deaf person, they're unlikely to make any sound at all, as many Deaf people do not speak (though some do). Are you going to complain to them that they're not speaking? I hope not.

Are there any ASL learn videos were the people talks and says how to do them ?
It's actually easier in the long run if you learn not to depend on English words.
Fahrenheit4051 I guess ur right, plus I finished the class weeks ago
Ameri Wryter Rochelle Barlow here on UA-cam. She’s great. She’s hearing but her asl abilities are great!
I've watched a few like that. But the point is to learn sign language which is a silent language.
Now i'm prepared for the unlikely event to appear on kisscam with my sis
