As an Iranian, I share with you the sadness of not having Edward... He was an example of a moral elevation, logic, emotion and a very loving face that will never die... He is alive and our big brother in the Middle East..
We need you now more than ever before Edward...😢 Stand up please.

He was one of my academic heroes during my undergraduate. I am not Muslim, but I have Muslim people in my family. Your father’s work is very much appreciated, especially for immigrant children like myself, also.

I just realized almost all the videos I have watched from Palestine and people who talk about that region seems they are here at the present time . The difficult time that both people from Israel and Palestine are facing now 😢 and as a result of it , any human being around the globe is feeling it .This shows the on going trauma of Palestinian which I were not aware of it . These videos are from four , five and even ten fifteen years ago . Wow . Very sad ! 😢😢😢😢
Edward Said was a great Human being , scholar , teacher and role model .Our world needs man like him desperately !!

I wonder whether it would have made a difference if a good-looking and pragmatic Palestinian like E. Said had been the leader of his god-forsaken people? With Arafat and his PLO, and an ineffectual President like Abbas the people never had a chance - now Hamas has turned the lives of the 'homeless' and hopeless internees of Gaza into an unimaginable nightmare - how could this have been allowed to happen? To quote Milton 'and did God look on and wouldn't interfere?'. E. Said must be shedding rivers of tears for his people in heaven...

I totally agree. Hanan Ashrawi would have been an excellent spokesperson for the Palestinians. An articulate woman with perfect English and a sharp mind. But she was sidelined to make way for the men in suits.

Bless all.who tried . Justice needs to be demanded by many. It is a long struggle. Said was great but Arafat yes counts, he counts. Itbis a collective struggle.

      But it never existed.
A purely mythological construct, invented by an Egyptian Psycho in the 1970s.
