What was the point of this video? This had NOTHING to do with the Switch 2 outside of the first 2 minutes of the video, and even then that’s stretching it.

Now I’m gonna explain why the switch 2 will do well: 1. Fixes core joycon issues (hall effect so no more stick drift, bigger buttons, more substantial sl and sr buttons,no wiggle because of the new electromagnetic design, and a bigger size). 2. Enough power to really do anything (If it can run elden ring yeah it’s more than powerful enough). 3. A lot of third party support and even games like Call of duty, Assassin’s creed, Elden ring, Hifi rush, and Rise of ronin are probably coming over. 4. A affordable price ($400 is cheaper than next gen consoles and pc handhelds). 5. Backwards compatibility with NSO, games, and your Nintendo account so people will be able to experience the console even on day 1 with their existing games, which provokes a smooth transition for casuals. 6. Finally a simple, straightforward name ( Switch 2 sounds nice and the casual gamer will understand it immediately unlike 3ds and Wii U).

They don’t say anything about the console itself and only talk about one feature. They don’t tell people they’re next gen. Firstly, people thought the 3ds was just a ds but 3d and they weren't willing to pay $330 in today's money just for a measly gimmick. The name didn't tell them it was a true successor. And the Wii U name...well.... didn't make ANY sense at all. Iconic consoles but didn't reach their full potential because of one, their confusing names.

Judging by the mixed likes and dislikes, there's an understandable reason why people aren't taking this video seriously. Nintendo sucky decisions has nothing to do with the Nintendo switch 2 Going to flop and don't even get me started on the Super Smash Bros Community because they deserved the punishment after what they did behind the scenes.
This sounds very familiar... I remember people saying this before Switch 1 launched as well and well, that didn't exactly age well and this likely won't either. friend, software updates won't make the physical hardware faster. that's why there's nothing. because they can't do it. I imagine the only reason the 3DS could do it, even being a lower powered system, is that they had two processors inside, so I imagine one was mostly handling one thing and the other was handling other things and would be free even with a suspended game. The switch's chosen processor apparently couldn't handle everything and they wanted to choose stability at all times over a fancy and bumpier ride.
Switch 2 won't sell as well as the first Switch. But it will still sell good. I think this is because times have changed. Most kids would be playing games on their phones. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace.
Honestly I think it'll do as good if not better if they just pump out software like crazy, I feel like they've been holding back a lot in the last years of the Switch so Switch 2 gets a good start. We'll have to wait and see

I prefer the ROG Ally over the Switch. I like the exclusive Nintendo games they offer, but that's just it. The ROG Ally is not only able to play proper pc games, has way more storage, is over 20 times more powerful than the Switch, has way more storage, but it's also just a lot cooler. Might be 2x more expensive, but at least the games you can buy aren't like 60 bucks all the time. At least pc games often get huge discounts, Nintendo games almost never get huge discounts.

I think its crazy how people accept all of these things. Nintendo forcing shitty emulation while refusing to add games like the og pokemon people have been asking for years while having the ability to do so. An awful online service thats just as expensive as xbox or playstation with not even half the features. The fact Nintendo are so against consumers to the point that most sales are max 30% off and games from literally 10 years ago go for full price on the nintendo store with little sales. The fact the switch 2 is only as powerful as a ps4 a 12 year old console. The games are usually 20-30£ worth of content charging 50-60 or even more. Theres so many more issues but thats all i can be bothered to list. But all of these issues yet people still bootlick nintendo? Also id like to add, everyone saying about “oo backwords compatibility with the switch!!!!” Xbox have been doing this since the 360. I play nintendo consoles to play nintendo titles But since swtxh 2 will have a nvidia graphics card, then it means it will be as powerful as a ps4 pro, which is definitively hfuge if we consider the original nintendo switch performance
I want to preface this. I agree with all your points, but can we stop calling it just Nintendo? The company is massive, they mace many different factions. Developers, artists, musicians, marketing, finance, and the one actually doing all this stuff, the legal team. This is why I still love Nintendo. if the switch 2 is just gonna be a switch with better hardware, but doesnt do anything new in terms of quirks like the joycons coming off, its probably gonna be another wii u whenever nintendo have a major fail, its usually because they can lack innovation, like the wii to the wii u, or the gamecube, because it was nothing new, just better hardware. they need that initial failure to set them up for new ideas and then they succeed

I'd rather pay $20 for a digital copy of a game than pay $60 for a game that came out 8 years ago (ie Breath of the Wild). Physical copies of games is becoming like vinyl - primarily of interest to collectors and not casual gamers.

When the Xbox 360 store closed GTA V was STILL £39.99 here while I went to CeX and found the disc for £6. Digital IS good, but it should always be a choice, never mandatory. Availability is the main part of preservation and you can't pick up digital games once they're delisted. As far as "casual gamers" go, Japan still has over 80% of gamers buying physical games, in america that number is dropping sure, but we've seen how that goes. They ditched SEGA, now they want them back. They mocked colourful consoles for being "childish" (RIP GameCube) now they're bored of the plain black or white boxes they get. Physical will be the same once big corporations control how much you pay and when you can do it.
I always buy second hand. I despise Nintendo so much, truly. I don’t even play their games anymore, they genuinely haven’t made anything that interest me. I skipped out on new Zelda game even though I used to be an avid Zelda fan and own all of the games except triforce heroes. I just play indie games and medieval themed games now and haven’t touched my Nintendo switch in a while since Mario wonder I think. I play mostly PC and they have better sales there than Nintendo or Sony store.

The switch 2 will be significantly more powerful than switch and that’s awesome! The original switch was disappointing in my opinion because it was just as powerful as the Wii u and I don’t play portably so it didn’t feel like an upgrade for me. We went 2 generations of Nintendo without a power bump so I’m really excited about switch 2 This power gap is not a unique silly gimmick but it will make their games significantly better so I’m all in!
I'm afraid the Wii U was the most depressing console and definitely regret buying the bugger to be honest, I'm glad Nintendo scraped the Nintendo Creators Program, I'm gonna say this but i cant say anything about Nintendo but i know they are very fussy when it comes to their intellectual property, The Wii U ran like a bag of sh!t because the hardware was underpowered and also its because it was too complicated for 3rd party developers to develop their games that will utilise the gamepad and the TVii function became useless.

friend, software updates won't make the physical hardware faster. that's why there's nothing. because they can't do it. I imagine the only reason the 3DS could do it, even being a lower powered system, is that they had two processors inside, so I imagine one was mostly handling one thing and the other was handling other things and would be free even with a suspended game. The switch's chosen processor apparently couldn't handle everything and they wanted to choose stability at all times over a fancy and bumpier ride.
Switch 2 won't sell as well as the first Switch. But it will still sell good. I think this is because times have changed. Most kids would be playing games on their phones. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace.
Honestly I think it'll do as good if not better if they just pump out software like crazy, I feel like they've been holding back a lot in the last years of the Switch so Switch 2 gets a good start. We'll have to wait and see

I prefer the ROG Ally over the Switch. I like the exclusive Nintendo games they offer, but that's just it. The ROG Ally is not only able to play proper pc games, has way more storage, is over 20 times more powerful than the Switch, has way more storage, but it's also just a lot cooler. Might be 2x more expensive, but at least the games you can buy aren't like 60 bucks all the time. At least pc games often get huge discounts, Nintendo games almost never get huge discounts.

I think its crazy how people accept all of these things. Nintendo forcing shitty emulation while refusing to add games like the og pokemon people have been asking for years while having the ability to do so.

In any case, if you're in it for hardware power, buy and/or build a PC (which actually costs less than a PS5 Pro outside of the US now, so that's nice.

I want to preface this. I agree with all your points, but can we stop calling it just Nintendo? The company is massive, they mace many different factions. Developers, artists, musicians, marketing, finance, and the one actually doing all this stuff, the legal team. This is why I still love Nintendo. Most of their factions are incredible, it's just the 2 last parts I mentioned actually doing this.
Also, this video makes absolutely no sense. I already knew you would be onto nothing since the console isn't even out yet, let alone had an official reveal. But honestly, I could not have expected this. First you talk about the flaws of the Switch, and then say that if the Switch 2 is hurt a hardware upgrade nothing much will change. But then you go and say that the Switch is an incredible console. If that's the case, then the Switch 2 can't suck. Yeah it will be underwhelming, but it's still a good console. Then you talk about the latest 3 console having bad launches, which really doesn't have anything to do with the console itself. Then you just go on a tangent about "Nintendo" which is actually just the legal and finance factions repeating the same points already said 100s of times already.

whenever nintendo have a major fail, its usually because they can lack innovation, like the wii to the wii u, or the gamecube, because it was nothing new, just better hardware. they need that initial failure to set them up for new ideas and then they succeed

I'd rather pay $20 for a digital copy of a game than pay $60 for a game that came out 8 years ago (ie Breath of the Wild).
Physical copies of games is becoming like vinyl - primarily of interest to collectors and not casual gamers.

Digital IS good, but it should always be a choice, never mandatory.
Availability is the main part of preservation and you can't pick up digital games once they're delisted.
As far as "casual gamers" go, Japan still has over 80% of gamers buying physical games, in america that number is dropping sure, but we've seen how that goes.

I always buy second hand. I despise Nintendo so much, truly. I don’t even play their games anymore, they genuinely haven’t made anything that interest me. I skipped out on new Zelda game even though I used to be an avid Zelda fan and own all of the games except triforce heroes. I just play indie games and medieval themed games now and haven’t touched my Nintendo switch in a while since Mario wonder I think. I play mostly PC and they have better sales there than Nintendo or Sony store.
Yeah Nintendo really needs to shake things up with the Switch 2 I feel like they're recently not very innovative (last 3 or 4 years)

The original switch was disappointing in my opinion because it was just as powerful as the Wii u and I don’t play portably so it didn’t feel like an upgrade for me.
We went 2 generations of Nintendo without a power bump so I’m really excited about switch 2

I'm afraid the Wii U was the most depressing console and definitely regret buying the bugger to be honest, I'm glad Nintendo scraped the Nintendo Creators Program, I'm gonna say this but i cant say anything about Nintendo but i know they are very fussy when it comes to their intellectual property, The Wii U ran like a bag of sh!t because the hardware was underpowered and also its because it was too complicated for 3rd party developers to develop their games that will utilise the gamepad and the TVii function became useless.
