I absolutely appreciate you posting this insightful video! I am coming forward with 15 years of management experience as a recreation therapy director working within hospitals, skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities and community support agencies. I obtained my Masters of Health Services Administration degree back in 2015 followed by my graduate certificate in Human Resources Management in 2019 and I am sooooo ready to start my search again for a career within practice management. The dilemma that I was facing when I was applying to jobs to be a practice manager in the past was that I have limited medical practice environment experience ( I only have 1 year of volunteer health clinic experience from undergrad years). My fear is that even though I have worked in healthcare organizations and meet the educational requirements where I utilized all of the practice manager areas of focus that you spoke of (customer service, front desk operations, etc.), I am still having problems successfully convincing these agencies that I am more then able to perform the job duties that come with being a practice manager. I am currently based in Atlanta, GA and want to start my next career in a smaller practice, not necessarily a large one. Also, do they train you on the job in this role? Can you offer me any advice on this? Thank you kindly!

Hi @denise112 thank you for your kind words and welcome to the channel! To answer your question regarding training, they don't really train you to be a practice manager. You would have to heavily rely on your former leadership, formalized education, and in clinic experiences to really learn in the role of a practice manager. However, it is possible to acquire a Practice Management job but requires a detailed strategy, time, and patience. I have course that teaches professionals like you how to acquire jobs like practice management. Also, in the course I do work with students directly by reviewing your resume and more. I recommend you sign-up. You can learn more about the course here: bit.ly/3iOuRC3. Once again, thanking for watching and I do hope to see you in the course! All the best-Dr. Orobosa

I have a few like pharmaceuticals, audit manager, and long term care but I’m still searching… I haven’t started my intern yet, thats next semester and I’m excited to see what kind of doors it opens for me. Thank you so much for providing detailed information on this topic.

Hi @stacysimms2709 it really depends on your experience, education, the state and the organization’s budget. I recommend you check sites like Payscale.com or Salary.com to run the salary figures for this position. As mentioned in the video, the starting salary is around $60,000+ across the US. Thanks for watching!
