Dr. Orobosa, I am so glad I stumbled upon your page! I have been binge watching all afternoon and shared your page with some classmates. I currently work as a physical therapist assistant in an outpatient clinic. I've been doing this for the past 14 years and will graduate in December with my bachelor's in HCA. I plan to leave the patient treatment side. The career opportunities for HCA is huge and I would like to know which areas you would suggest I look into for future employment.

Hi there. I have a weird siuation. I have been at my current job for 4 months. They brought me in for my expertise, knowledge, and skills. There isn't anyone else who does my role. I am a Lead sterile processing Tech who is hired on as an Independent Contributor. So, I have proven myself way above and beyond that my new director has created a new position for just me, because I am already doing the work. I am being paid waaay lower than I should. Mind you, I was hired as a tech but I have been doing the work of a tech, Independent Contributor, Invenction Preventionist Quality Assuranceanager, and Performance Improvement Specislist. With that said, that is everything I will continue to do in new new role. So, my question is, if I started at 66 000 and I have researched that just IC's make on average 100-115 thousand. Is that WAY too high to set, since I know 66,000 is already way too low? I should also add that I am in Alaska and the cost of living is very high. The company I work for has just raised their minimum wage to 25/hr (I am making 31). They are a rapidly growing company in a Capital City which is small and has rural villages and is bringing healthcare to those villages. So, I again ask, is negotiating at a much much higher and deserving rate a safe approach? During my research, I have had some professionals tell me not to risk loosing my current job by going in that high of a range, but I absolutely know it is the AVERAGE pay, in all of the US. I have my 1st. Phone interview with the recruiter Monday, so confused. Thank you for helping us😊
