- Опубліковано 11 вер 2024
- We head to the Province of Enna to visit the elaborate and large Villa Romana del Casale built between the 3rd and 4th century AD. The site was accidentally discovered by locals in the 1950's. The 42 room vila rich with marbles, rocks and shells from Northern Italy and Africa are of immense historical importance. Later we go to a new pizza place.

Thank you for the shout out. Mom's listening from Heaven 😢😢❤❤
God bless your Mom and God bless you
Вилата е едно от най-изумителните места в Сицилия. Благодаря ви, че отново ме върнахте там с прекрасното видео. От България
Absolutely beautiful. I remember going there in 1995. So much more has been excavated since then. Back then you actually walked on the mosaics. It's great to see how they are now being protected.
Sending my deepest condolences to James Ingham's mom...RIP
Thank you for sharing this remarkable landmark! ❤❤❤

Good morning!
Also if you take water and put it on the ground you see how colourful the mozaics were. Now it looks really the same …because of the age
Hi Eszter and Alfred. Thank you for sharing the stunning mosaics. Just wanted to ask Alfred what comes first on the list, the company? Great setting for your evening meal and, as always, the best views. 👌 🙌 😊 condolences to James. Much love ❤️

Ciao!
I am curious about the artists from North Africa, how did they know about Homer's Iliad desciption of Odysseas machinations of the cyclop and his escape from the cave with his sailors, and why would the Sicilians of that era who were Greek would need North Africans to come and do mosaics, an art that they knew for 1500 years as the mosaic bathtub of King Nestor shows at his palace in Pylos Greece dated 3300 years old?
Remember that Alexander first and Rome second had tremendous influence in that area for centuries. One was Macedonian ,the other Latin influences.
Alexander was Greek Macedonian as I am Greek Spartan, furthermore the Greeks from Sparta, Messina, Corinth, and so many other places in Greece were there more than 600 -700 years before the Romans even existed and named the island Sicily which means oats in Greek, because the earth there produced vast amounts of premium quality of oat grain. I know the history of my ancestors very well learning it for 12 years in school!
Pay particular attention to the fact that parts of Enna have been blazing for 8 days!
@@dianejohnston9256 we have had a LOT worse!
