I'm from Serbia, but to be honest, it's a completely different country during spring and summer. Autumn and snowless winters are so ugly and gloomy. I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit it before April, but thanks anyway for promoting practically unknown parts of this country. You're both great travel blogger. Cheers!
Exactly...That is what i always say...Biggest problem of Serbian tourism is that we don't have seaside so everyone visit from october to april..When it is cold, gray ,rainy,gloomy..And Serbia like every other country is most beautiful in late spring and summer...When everything is green and sunny and it's warm...
Most places it's gloomy and cold in the Winter. It think this trip was in March - still cold. Serbia has continental weather with some milder pockets in the winter in the south-maybe in the valleys.
Welcome to Uzice guys... So, I see, Suljaga's komplet lepinja deserves Vlog of it's own... Too bad it was a rainy day because Uzice is a beautiful town with hospitable people, great food and amazing nature scenery... Cheers
You should visit the Golubac fortress, on the river Danube in eastern Serbia. It is a similar type as the fortress in Uzice, but it has been renovated last year and is much more beautiful, plus it is open every day for visitors. Btw, nice videos...😎
Greetings from Mumbai India. Hey Matt and Molly have a wonderful trip .Absolutely beautiful and incredible Uzice.Love the river view.Ziveli enjoy n have fun😘❤🥰😍🤩
So nice to see Matt educating Molly (and the rest) that when you go up the hill the way back is going down the hill ... you learn something everyday!! haha xx
Uzice is nice town with great history. It also looks much different when it is nice weather. You should visit the first hydroelectric power plant in Europe on the Djetinja river. It was built by Nikola Tesla after the Niagara Falls, so it was the second one in the world. You were in front of it, near elevator... Also the old Turkish town has great story, name Djetinja has story connected with that old town. Maybe you can contact some local resident, I am sure you can find better places to visit or to hear rigt facts. Square was famous because of Tito's monument. TITO was Yugoslav leader for 40 years...
It took me a while to realise that you are saying Bajina Bašta ( you can read it like -> Bayeena Bashta ). I totally envy you! Yes, and Komplet lepinja, is something special! Totally! Enjoy! Waves of love!
About Bajina bašta, you should pronounce it like almost "buying" just remove g and put a, so "Buyina bashta". Leteral translation is "Bajin's garden". Bajin was a great landlord in 18th or 19th century. Enjoy your Serbia adventure!
I am from Užice but appart for New Year and Christmas i never go in Užice in fall/winter because it snows, rains and i am locked indoors with screaming kids and grandparents. In spring/summer everything is different! All sites shown in this video (and many others in Užice) are buzzing with hikers, joggers, kids and tourists and it is wonderful. Sadly, fortress and museum-electric power plant together with kids open pool, riverside hotel and restaurants, beach and promenade river facilities are going extensive renewal and subsequently they are now out of reach. Including dam access. And what is more sad is that, because of COVID, all tourist attractions (tourist trains, tours, bicycle rentals, outdoor hiking, open spa, outdoor museum, etc) is suspended and renewals are delayed. Nevertheless, just the other day i went on a stroll in my favourite Užice childhood hill park with beautiful overlook of the city accompanied by squirls. As anything in Užice, it was just 5 minutes walk from a centre. My son asked: "Dad, why did you ever move from here😀?"
Your style definitely grows on the listener! Am enjoying your videos very much, and am thinking of moving to the area actually. Am a bit put off by some advice from local people on the comments here sometimes, on some videos, the "you should you should you should" stuff....I think those who issue these commands should make a video themselves..anyway, really enjoying your vlogs and style...very well done...you should......woops....sorry!
thx for the vid! I need your view about the Quai DAO platform. I mean, it’s a treasure, it’s a pity that there’s so little knowledge about it amongst investors!
Well I’m glad you have the rain too 😂, due to get warmer in the uk next week 👍, what a fascinating city, i couldn’t agree more about having a nice beverage by water. 👏
The main square is, or rather, used to be recognized for its planning, not for the architecture of the surrounding buildings, apart from the "rocket" hotel. The way the square was divided into cascading planes (and their disposition) so that it loses its steepness is its main value. Most nice cafes and restaurants are found by the river, but the (Covid) situation and bad weather made them appear like they are not there. It is a shame no one recommended you to visit a cave - Stopicha (Стопића пећеина) one on Zlatibor, or Potpechka (Потпећка пећина) one not far from Uzhicze on the road to Pozhega. Both of them are worthwhile. Eastern Serbia is very much worth visiting as well.
You guys are doing great and really showing awesome initiative with the travel restrictions we all have. I think the Philippines will open up this year, maybe the fall, certainly Cebu for fully vaccinated people. Are you ready?😊😊
People from that area call themselves "Era", I believe that the Irish have the same name for themselves on your small island. They are of Celtic descent.
