Get to Work is basically my "Commercial Clutter" kit for building lol so I love it, though I REALLY wish they'd refresh it because it had so much potential, I wanted police and hospitals in the game, but they only exist if you're a part of the career, so most the time it doesn't. It's an amazing build, but also, James lucked out that the Batuu stuff and the industrial stuff from GTW mesh so nicely together. On the other hand, Bust the Dust.
I love Batuu and honestly can't believe it scored so low compared to some of the buggiest, worst implemented packs like Dine Out and My Wedding Stories. And these ratings are from James' viewers!
Interested to see how this goes, I love using stuff from get to work, batuu & pet stuff. There is some pretty neat stuff in them if you're creative enough. I mean I love the big fish tank table 🥰 I use it in a lot of mansion builds🤣

It's a very cool build, and I appreciate that you even made circular rooms considering how differently people thought of those before and after implementation. That said, as much as I'm a TS1,2,3 and 4 whale, I have to draw the line somewhere and thus the only pack I have of these is Get To Work, which is quite good of course, but EPs are mostly good anyway.
“I usually review restaurants, but am making a special exception for this new addition to our retail options. The building itself is uniquely post modern with stone silos that evoke memories of the Cold War era as well as the question-are there ICBM’s underneath? That said the landscaping is punctuated with an unidentifiable fuchsia bush that admittedly adds pretty pops of color. The signage is to the point-animal, er, pet type stuff inside. Inside is a busier than expected mish mash of items that vaguely revolve around a pet, er, animal theme. The activity area for kids is sure to keep the younger visitors occupied for minutes at a time while their parents admire the many exit signs. All in all it’s a new option for purchasing decent pet bowls (in one style), desk lighting, the always popular coffee table aquarium combo, and of course rodents.” Tim Apple-Certified Reviewer for the Bigwallet Bugle, a subsidiary of SimNation Publications FEB2023
I love Get To Work! I don't play the active careers much but I do like the stuff it came with. Plus the aliens... though I do agree aliens should have been base game.
I like this. Batuu stuff is good for making homes for Alien Sims and this gave me some good ideas. I always like when I can draw inspiration from creative builds.
Makes me think of when they asked about what packs to revamps some. Rather than adding the pet furniture and bowls, they probably should have focused on fun fish bowls and aquariums since fish are base game and they bothered to make an *aquarium* table. Maybe even a nice display case that hold a slot all the frogs you can collect. Actually collecting and keeping all the frogs often requires so many tables just to fit them on. A good ol' display case that goes against the wall like a bookcase would save so much room. I won't go into adding reptiles in little terrariums like the frogs though... that requires some animation and this was just a stuff pack...
i don't have any of those packs 😆but cool build! using round walls in a "worst of" theme definitely makes sense. we were so excited, then so disappointed when they came out...

The thing about Get to Work, it was the first expansion pack and it suffers from that. I love Get to Work but if it came out now, it'd be a lot better.
While I've never completed a Batuu playthrough, I really, really LOVE the BB items that came with it and I use them a lot! I may be strange but I really love this!! Haha
i’ve been in the disney area of florida all week and every time i see the back of the batuu spires at hollywood studios my brain immediately yells “ah BATUU!” in james’ voice
"my first journey to batuu" is somehow the funniest thing i heard today. i'm tearing up. this build holds a very special place in my heart now and if i owned these packs i would absolutely place it in every save
The pet store I go to to get my cat food has 1) stuff to care for dogs, 2) stuff to care for cats, 3) small mammals and fish to buy, and 4) stuff to care for the small mammals and fish. If it weren't that you _can_ buy (um, adopt? I don't know, probably buy. I'd never consider getting a cat or a dog from a pet store) cats there sometimes, it would absolutely be a store that acknowledges the existence of cats and dogs - indeed, is majorly themed around them, and assumes most of their patrons are there because of them - but you can only actually get smaller animals like chinchillas, hamsters, fish, and budgies there. It's not Star Wars themed, though. :)
This was so much fun! I like that this concept is unique to this combination of packs, and the result is awesome tbh :D Great job as always 😁 GTW and Journey to Batuu to me are both good and kinda bad packs for the mostly good gameplay features, but a bit of lost potential somewhere…? also as someone who mostly builds I find there’s a problem with the swatches (either lack of options or the weird choices) which makes it difficult to build something I’m happy with :( I’m always happy to use them when they are somehow the perfect fit though! It’s very exciting! :D
Honestly, as a huge Star Wars fan, I do like the Batuu gamepack for the build/buy, cas and animations for telling Star Wars stories. As many have probably done, I cheated Rey and Kylo Ren out of Batuu and set them in an AU post the films where they live on a planet like Henford… specifically with the surroundings like the secluded lot at the north of the map (🤣 don’t judge) so the pack came in handy with building up the house over time. The biggest problem honestly was the curved walls… I built a house with a similar Batuu aesthetic but connecting regular walls to the circular ones was so wonky I ended up changing them to octagonal rooms as the house (and family) began expanding 🥲🥲 the way James used the circular walls in this build is exactly what I wanted to do and eventually gave up on 😅 might be adding this to my save… just with some slight interior renovations lol
I’ve started saying “YEAH BATUU”every time it’s mentioned bc of your videos I have barely seen any batuu content, and never played any, but apparently I’m a fan now 😂
Suggestions: Maybe built a lot with the packs that ranked in the middle of your survey. Maybe built a lot with one of the packs from the best section of the survey, one of the of packs from the worst section of the survey and 2 from the middle. For this suggestion, maybe the kit comes from the best or the worst, so you know you have build/buy kit to work with, or you could use the bathroom clutter for the kit and only from one the middle.
i do actually like to look of Batuu stuff. Sure i wouldn't pay as much for it but i definitely enjoy the look of build/buy things in it! very steampunk-like
Batuu, isn't my favorite or anything, but I got it on sale for 50 or 60 percent off and I really like a lot of the build items. And of course now any time I pull a Batuu item out of the catalog I hear James saying "Aww Batuu! Yeeeaahh!"
What kind of pet store is it you say? A Canadian one lol they only sell Betta MAYBE and pet supplies. If you want a fish you go to the aquarium supply store. A rodent? The independent pet stores maybe. A puppy or a kitten? A stranger on the internet.
I think some stores still sell larger animals (or maybe I’m thinking of ones from a decade ago), but yeah, most of our pet stores are for supplies only and _maybe_ small pets (rodents, lizards, fish)... I don’t like to see dogs or cats in pet stores anyways, with how little space they’re given to move around ☹️
The exterior is actually really good IMO, I've been thinking about building out a Star Wars themed save file and I need more buildings that don't just look like they belong on Tatooine, which is what most of the lots on the gallery look like. They're great, but don't have a wide variety of environments. Gut the interior and turn it into something different, and you could have a really fun build.
Love the builds you do. I think all packs have some redeeming qualities, you just have to work with them. Batuu actually has some really unique build items.
Not only James took the challenge to use the worst packs he also decided to use curved walls 😂 we love to see the commitment

I love your creativity with the Sims series. The build is innovative and cool and in my opinion the Batuu pack has some very good building items.
Love how it blends seamlessly into the neighbourhood.. 🤣
Amazing build, James! Always love seeing how happy Batuu makes you!
"AH BATUU YEAH-HAH!"
James, I love you. You're such a wonderful person and truly a delight to watch.
I don't have Journey to Batuu, but I like your builds with that pack (and your undying love for it as well)!
It’s like those boutiques for pets that only sell expensive collars and leashes 🐕🦺
And "healthy" or "organic" pet food
love how it's a "batuu themed pet store" but only themed on the outside lmao
I’m excited for the Okayist build next
This was so much fun! I like that this concept is unique to this combination of packs, and the result is awesome tbh :D Great job as always 😁
GTW and Journey to Batuu to me are both good and kinda bad packs for the mostly good gameplay features, but a bit of lost potential somewhere…? also as someone who mostly builds I find there’s a problem with the swatches (either lack of options or the weird choices) which makes it difficult to build something I’m happy with :( I’m always happy to use them when they are somehow the perfect fit though! It’s very exciting! :D
I actually use some Batuu stuff. I love the stone flooring and I use the lights in kitchens sized down.
Since I don't have any of these packs, I might download it just to see what the game replaces all the items with 😁
I love this build. I actually like Batuu, and the store idea is really cool.
Bathurst is one of my fave packs. So is get to work. This is neat.
BATUU! Stupid phone
To be honest, I like this building sooooooo much better than the one with the "best" packs.
I would love to see you come back to this and make it better by adding stuff from cats and dogs to really make this a good pet store.
I with I had the enthusiasm for anything, the way James has enthusiasm for Batuu
Ngl this looks very cute, it feels like something you'd find in a busy shopping area
This is such a creative combo, love it!
The vacuums can be inventory, like they're special pet mess/smell cleaning machines for sale at the store.
Totally missed the part where James said he was building a pet store and was convinced he was building a prison for a large portion of the video 😂
I so love this! I think James should do more spicing up the underrated packs.❤
I’ve started saying “YEAH BATUU”every time it’s mentioned bc of your videos
I have barely seen any batuu content, and never played any, but apparently I’m a fan now 😂
Love the outside and hate inside with first pet stuff you did good work
Every pack in this video combined with the curved walls - traumatising😩✋️
Suggestions:
Maybe built a lot with the packs that ranked in the middle of your survey.
Sure i wouldn't pay as much for it but i definitely enjoy the look of build/buy things in it! very steampunk-like
11:15 you can avoid most round room glitches by switching to walls down mode
James' dedication to Batuu is admirable. Get yourself someone who loves you like James loves Batuu, even through all those flaws.
Actually, I love the worst ones, except Bust the Dust, which I've never bought.
Massive fan of Star Wars… you definitely made this pet store look awesome!! Good job James
I really like the exterior of this build, something really different than normal!
Actually really impressed with the batuu exterior. Looks great!
An intergalactic pet store. James you knocked this out of the park, looks amazing
Love the builds you do. I think all packs have some redeeming qualities, you just have to work with them. Batuu actually has some really unique build items.
