- An easy to follow DIY video tutorial on how to replace the cabin filter on a 2015 - 2020 Chevy Tahoe.
Cabin air filters help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle, creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Chevrolet Tahoe passenger compartment location.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR Chevy Tahoe?
It is recommended that you replace your cabin air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year.
However, you may want to replace or change the cabin filter in you Tahoe more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies
-You or a frequent passenger has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Tahoe on dirt roads or in excessively dusty conditions
-You drive your Tahoe in heavily polluted areas
This video tutorial can be used to help remove, change or replace the cabin filter on the following Chevrolet Tahoe Models:
2015 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
2016 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
2017 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
2018 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
2019 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
2020 Chevy Tahoe - LS, LT and LTZ.
Clear and concise video with excellent narration. I would only add that cleaning of debris may be necessary.
Thanks!
Clear,to the point video.When I upgrade to a 2015-2020,I'll know what to do.Still pushing my 99' with 265k and going strong!😄
Those old full size GM SUV's run forever!
Sitting at 400,000 with a 2003 lol
We had two 99's for 17 years but not without 1000's of dollars in repairs. Finally had to let them go but those were sad days.
My wife got it thank you this was done on the highway going 64 mph
Nice!
I was going around 67 when I changed mine
I like to wipe down the filter bay and often use a vacuum with a crevice device to clear out any debris/residual dirt and dust before putting the new filter in.
Just changed the filter in my 2019 Tahoe. Thank you for the easy step by step instructions.

Gm challenging you to change the ac filter by yourself with weird screwdriver size and very tight place to work with
Ultimately they want you to take to a Gm dealer - Dealers will usually charge a half-hour to an hour of labor to change this
Thanks for the information

Is there only one air cabin filter for the entire Tahoe/suburban ?
Yes, the cabin filter in the video is the only one for the Tahoe/Suburban of these years
Does that filter has a size or part number?
@@stophating1542 autozone stp brand CAF1914p
@@joevanyguzman824 thanks 👌👍
I have a 2018 Tahoe. I was able to replace the filter but was not able to snap the filter door back in place. Suggestion??
Are you sure the filter is completely inserted into the slot so it isn't hitting the filter door? Also, on the vehicle in the video there was a bundle of wires that was almost in the way of the filter door and the bundle needed to be pushed up and out of the way - is there maybe something like that going on that is preventing the door from fully closing?
@@PYR-Auto Thanks for responding to my post. The filter and door are in a tight spot and there are some wires in the way, but I was able to get the filter door installed after pulling hair and gnashing my teeth.
Going to attempt this on my 17 tahoe the ac won't cool at all :(
Usually if the AC will not cool at all - the cabin filter is not the only issue
I switched out mine but now we get a loud blower noise after removing dust and insulation. Any idea what it could be? Could the blower have dust and gunk causing it to make noise?
It's possible that you have something physically in the blower that's causing the noise - I would remove the filter again and see if you can see anything in there.
Same issue here. Unless there's a easy way to access the squirrel cage....I can't see in there. Do you have a video saying how to access the fan motor?
Could be a leaf fell in there. It’s happened to me before and again just now after Firestone installed a new filter. It’s the reason I even pulled up this video. So annoying
@billjoang were you able to get rid of noice same happened to. If so what did you do to fix it? Thanks
@@JoseMedina-yg8in i actually had them do it for me at jiffy lube . There was a leaf in there and they fished it out. Noise went away. Now it’s back because I had Firestone put a new filter in and must be something in there again. I would normally change it myself but it’s a company vehicle and they pay.
Do you know anything about a 2011 Tahoe?
unfortunately we do not have a video for the 2011 Tahoe cabin filter yet
I have friends that went to GM right out of engineering school; we're going to have a long talk!
lol
Great video
