Nothing wrong with using UA-cam as a free archive for your church's sermons! But there's *so* much more that we can do as well. Here's a new strategy I'm starting to see gain traction. 👊
An adjustment that improves discovery without diluting the message. I see value in this. Not at the point where I wouldn’t show the full sermon but appreciative of the need to have a strategy for discovery by people I am sent to reach. Wouldn’t say I am amazing at video editing but even my basic skills can create a 15-20 minute clip from a sermon. The challenge will be to create a new searchable topic that reflects where faith and culture coincide. Yes, to being more creative. Lord help me. I am willing to try. Thanks for presenting a good, strong case for this.
Wow, thanks for dropping these gems. It truly shows how the Church must continuously adapt to cultural trends (and clever techniques) to reach the lost and spread the Good News.
You mean like having ' Come get vaxed" in the sanctuary? Cause "Jesus would get vaxed". A church that adapts to cultural trends is a church that is compromised and dead. Example..."There is a flu virus on the loose, close your doors, no worship, no singing". And all the ":so called" churches comply. Sickening.
@@waywardspirit7898 Not sure I follow your reasoning/example. However, so that there is no confusion in what I meant, I will explain… If you study the life of Jesus as he progressed through his earthly ministry (Galilean and Judean) you will see Him adapting to the culture at the time in order to spread the word. Culturally, Galilee and Judea were two different places. If we, the Church, are going to reach the lost then we must willing to go and meet them where they are (ie the Samaritan woman at the well). The Jews during that time would never associate with a Samaritan but Jesus did. He adapted without comprising His holiness. We can do the same. So, taking that same concept today, we must find creative ways to reach the lost sheep. Simply sticking to old/time tested methods (I.e. preaching from the pulpit) isn’t the “only way” to share the Good News. As born again Christians, we are in the world but are “apart” from the world. Find creative ways to use the tools/platforms in the world for God’s glory without sacrificing your faith. That’s my point. 😃. Blessings.
@@waywardspirit7898 I totally agree! It can become a sloppy slope that gets many churches in trouble. Since “a servant can’t serve two masters” (God vs the things of the world/flesh) we must constantly be on-guard, examining our hearts and true intentions behind everything we do lest we fall into worldly temptation. But fortunately, even when we do mess up, we have a gracious Father who loves and forgives us if/when we repent with “sincerity”.
Church is for people who are already saved. We have such a backwards view on this. Where is the evangelist and the pastor for the equipping of the Saints for the work of the ministry? Are churches teaching their people to share the gospel? Or is it just about inviting our unsaved friends to church so our pastor maybe share the gospel in some water down way?
The sad part is, whether it’s a 15 minute video, or an hour long video, I’d say 90%+ of the churches posting their videos online aren’t preaching rightly anyways. It’s sad to see the church that bears the name of Jesus Christ know so little of Him. Church businesses are full of motivational speakers who toss in a few out-of-context verses here and there and manipulate their audience for financial gain. God have mercy on our country.
@Da Name actually the point is, since churches don’t preach rightly anyways, they shouldn’t be posting them on UA-cam to begin with. Or the internet or anywhere.
Some good points here Brady! I think another avenue is also direct your audience to the church website, so create a video on demand strategy for archiving of sermons and church ministry. UA-cam is great for an alternate path to host, share, and build community. We had several paths at Harvest to distribute our content online.
Great video. I was just sharing this idea with Pastor. I noticed that most watch time is 15 minutes, and honestly I got that idea from Elevation as well. UA-cam shorts also help to drive views on videos. Thanks Brady for these videos. They are really helpful
Great knowledge Brady as always, we do publish a lengthy service on youtube weekly for archival reasons partly, but I do like the sermon extraction part and giving it a different focus to reach a more non-church going audience which is the "main-purpose" of the sermon anyways. Thanks for the motivation for continuing to grow and being creative in ministry Blessings!
Because of our sermons being uploaded to UA-cam starting in 2019, we've gone from 0 to 73k subscribers with over 10 million views. The Lord has blessed our ministry in this regard. Our average watch time is 13-14 minutes and we always try to put up a longer clip during the week. I spent a lot of time learning how to optimize for search, and learned a lot thanks in part to your old videos encouraging people to be on UA-cam. The clips do not affect the views of the full sermon, but do help with us consistently maintaining views. I serve at Cornerstone Fellowship with Pastor Allen Nolan. Thanks again Brady! 💪
Not a church, not a pastor, but I do stream. I make lots of content on Christian Apologetics and theology. And recently, I decided to do with my presentations, interviews, etc. exactly what you’re recommending! I’m going to call it “CFL Snippets”. CFL stands for Cerebral Faith Live. I just don’t have the time to make the kind of highly, highly, highly edited and visual videos that channels like Inspiring Philosophy does. So I figured I would make my shorter kinds of content via taking snippets out of my longer web show episodes. At the end of each shorter video, there will be a screen prompting viewers to watch the entire PowerPoint presentation or interview if they decide that they would like to watch/listen to the whole thing. I’m already like 40 something episodes into Cerebral Faith Live, so I have tons of material to work with. Now I just need to learn how to make compelling thumbnails, and in my case, the problem isn’t having the right tools, but lack of creativity.
Some Quesions: how would this work if both the snippet and the full sermon are published on the same church YT channel? What would be the impact on the channel? Would UA-cam see it as duplicate content and thus possibly de-emphasize it (as Google is reporeted to do with duplicate web content)?
It’s a fair question. It’s a pretty common strategy we see across podcast channels of all sizes. Which are a pretty good analog for our churches in this respect. So I wouldn’t fret.
Thanks Brady. New to your channel and this is so helpful. You’re a great communicator; you are truly equipping and modeling . Bonus + I see you’re a niners fan!
Been doing this for years. Works well. One mention. Beware of reusable content flag if you are monitized and if you are using 2 separate channels for cutting out short versions. If on same channel the short and long version I personally haven’t had any problems. Thanks for the video.
The one thing I’m not a fan of with this method is that it perpetuates clip culture and taking things out of context. When I prepare a message, I’m not intending for people to find the tweetable moment. I’m teaching the scripture and preaching the gospel, which should be done in context. I could be wrong on this as I haven’t put as much thought into it, but that’s my first conviction.
Have you ever quoted a Bible verse without sharing the entire chapter? Or a chapter without the whole book? Have you ever shared a quote from a sermon or book? Context is crucial of course. But the idea that a complete/profound thought can't exist unless the entirety of the source material is't also shared doesn't track for me.
@@prochurchtools yeah I follow you there. Have definitely done each of those things. I’ll need to wrestle with and chew on this more. Something feels off about feeding clip culture. I’ve seen many of people take clips of sermons to witch hunt preachers. Not that I’m immune to that happening, I’d hope people would do their due diligence to listen to the whole message and main idea.
Some of the most effective preaching in days gone by were 15 minutes long on AM radio like KXEL and other 50,000 watt powerhouses! RW Schambach took his 50 minute to an hour message and listeners were sure to try and catch the next broadcast where he would start out with go with me to a service already in progress and his message to be continued ended with some shout glory! It worked then and it’s no surprise that 15 minutes or thereabouts is still in vogue!
Thoughts on adding playlists or a separate channel for short form content? We live stream and let it archive. Doing devotional videos? Same or other channel?
I get the point you're making, but I really hope good bible believing churches DON'T stop putting full services up; there are few to no good churches where I am, and this is the only way my disabled self has to 'fellowship' other than talking with other Christians on social media.
Great advice! We are wondering whether it is better to self host our full length sermons (wordpress video or vimeo etc.) or continue with youtube or, third option, post on youtube but self host for our website embeds. What do you think?
OK, so I manage my local church's YT channel and we basically do something similar - the channel is used for archival purposes and usually the day after the Sunday service a sermon video is posted seperately from the actual Sunday service livestream with its own title and thumbnail. We started posting them seperately in 2021, because a handful of people expressed their wish of having an easier way to view sermons instead of having to manually search for the right timestamps in the livestreams every time. Sometimes those sermons indeed receive more views than the actual Sunday service livestreams they are taken from. By the way, we are a church in Ukraine. A lot of people who moved away because of w a r still watch us from abroad. The channel is quite a trip to the past for those who remember how things were before 2/24. Makes you appreciate present time more.
What I've noticed is that successful channels like The Daily Wire has been using this technique for years when posted their podcasts on UA-cam. Much easier to keep up with shorter clips than the full show.
And reaches different *types* of viewers as well. Search optimization aside, plenty of folks don't watch long-form videos. So by only posting long videos, you're limiting your audience based on viewer habits.
Thank you so much. I upload longer videos on this channel then upload a short from the video to my shorts channel (1 Minute With Tina) with the link to my full video but I don't change the title. I'm going to start doing that now.
Clearly, I must have missed something. What's the strategy, cut your sermon into several 15-minute segments and give them catchy titles? Is that it? That sounds like a ton of editing work. Not sure I saw the "how to do it" part. I have over 400 sermons on UA-cam, most with less than 4 views, (most with zero). I will say that I recently made several 15 sec video short but only 1 a lot of views. View duration sounds great assuming you can get some views to start with. I'll be watching your Rules for Church Growth video next.
So how do you drive people to the shorter version mid-week? (1. How is displayed on your channel? 2. Are you uploading it somewhere else (FB, IG) to drive people to it? Is it only 1 clip (changed our each week) as a "teaser", or do you archive them?
Great video! Are there any more examples other than Elevation? I’m curious what this would look like if my pastor does not have his own branded UA-cam channel.
Brady, do you have anything for building an online ministry for someone who doesn't have a "church" per se but wants to build one online? I also suggest using UA-cam shorts based on
Hey Brady... Very nice my friend. Well done and great info. I probably spent 20 minutes on your 10 minute video, because I wanted to hear portions more than once to make sure I caught what you were saying. Did you use a green screen for your background or is that the way your studio looks? Blessings!
I found this very interesting information. Your comments, as well as many others in this thread, do not make a distinction between "full service," and "sermon." All your comments seem to be directly only toward sermons. I find that most YT publications are full service, not just the sermon. Sadly, 2022 has a population of short attention span. Modern TV has conditioned us to jump quickly from one thing to another. Few are willing to camp on an idea, book, or sermon that requires an extended attention span. During the pandemic and when I had lots of time, I scanned places around the country, just to listen to the preaching. I am a strong advocate of gospel-based, expository preaching. I am finding very little of this being done. I also learned that most sermons are about 10 minutes long, some 20, some as short as 8 minutes. As a whole, the state of preaching in the US is very sad. It is no mystery why declines - the people in the pews are not being fed. The sermons at my church are about 35 minutes long. I consider this a bare minimum. I am an "idea" kind of person, and I appreciate developing ideas, both doctrinally and practically. I am part of a discussion group that meets Monday nights, 2 hours, to discuss the sermon. Nobody ever says the sermon was too long. During our two hours, we have time to extend the material to other citations, asking related questions and topics, things that cannot fit into 35 minutes. Preaching God's Word has always been vital to any healthy church. I write outlines notes for each sermon, 6-8 pages, and send to many people. They can use my notes along with the TY video (or FB) to rehearse the sermon again. This was started in late Mar 2020 and continues. Interest in getting the notes and replaying the sermon is gaining much interest. Everybody agrees that a second pass through picks up so much missed the first time. In our "microwave" mentality, some still want to invest the time to leverage the preaching material.
We got a copyright takedown recently. We also had several videos mysteriously deleted. It's not a perfect platform, so be aware of some of the problems with UA-cam.
Was attracted by the title 😅… somehow misleading. But inside, very useful content. Thanks. May be one day you should talk about “Hook Titles” 🤔… God bless!
If there is someone at your church who knows how to use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere (or even iMovie), those programs are popular choices. If not, a really simple option you can use is UA-cam's own editing tool! You can look up videos on how to use UA-cam editor tool and you'll be able to use those instructions to get clips from a longer message. 😊
Great content as always Brady! Do you have any insight on shorter clips? Ie. 4-8 minutes. We premiere our Sunday mornings and then usually extract a small (as you mention universal) portion you could drop into and hopefully want to subscribe or go find the whole sermon (which is linked through the end card). Just wondering if these videos are too short for the algorithm and if we should aim bigger, thoughts?
TB,......You have failed to understand that your church and every church is apostate from God and Biblical truth. What you, (the entire church) is selling is a 100% fake christianity. The church, the whole entire thing is nothing more than a den of thieves. You are all enemies of God and are in the business of the buying and selling of a 100% fake christianity. You are all the Godless people of the Godless world, (the beast) and only those who are marked by the Godless world, (the beast) as you are can buy and sell your fake manmade antichrist christianity. Those few who have been sealed by God have nothing whatsoever to do with the church. The church is filled with and is for the Godless people of the world. God has sanctified, (separated) the actual Christians from the apostate church and its fake christianity. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!
Hey Brady, great tips here! Question - how soon should I post the shorter version after the longer version has been uploaded? We upload the longer version every Saturday morning so maybe upload the shorter version mid-week? Thanks!
We post our sermons for people who couldn't make it to service, and i am very grateful for that. View counts, subscribers, and the algorithm are not our concern.
I think you are right somehow because watching the Preaching over 40 minutes of their Church sermons uploading on Utube doesn't make any sense who are watching at home when it comes to get fame and money coz they never ever reply if you asked them something or give a 🙏 sign and they should atleast reply to everyone by clicking this 🙏 sign as a appreciation but no, and lots of prophetic's videos lasting almost 1 to 2 hours must not be watch coz it's my personal recommend but, sometimes you get blessed by the Preachings from a true Bible believing church rite 🤗.
Hi Brady, thank you for all this great information. Have you looked into services like Videly that rank you at the top of UA-cam search results? Ive used it for corporate clients and it worked, but needed some upkeep. And it worked in some niche industries locally, so I don't know who it would fair out with churches. Thanks!
Great video!!! Just came across your page because I was looking for motion worship backgrounds-you posted some great information 3 yrs ago on this. Just subscribed to your channel! You have some great gems! What software do you use to edit the smaller video ? Thank you 😀
If I feel the spirit. Otherwise I just can't watch online stuff. My last pastor did not preach the holy spirit or have prayer for the baptyism. He only did water baptism.
Blue Jays fan from Toronto. Also, a Niners fan. No Canadian NFL team so when I was living near the west coast of Canada in Bible College I chose the Niners as my NFL team.
@@prochurchtools btw Brady, I noticed you said you'd leave the link to your video covering "hooks" in the description but couldn't find it. I did a bit of digging and found it in your "How REAL churches actually grow on IG and TikTok". Found it really valuable so wanted to make sure you updated your description.
Thanks for this strategy! I think this would work equally well for podcasts too. You could cut up a 1+ hour podcast into 2-3 smaller versions with different titles. One thing I worry about as my channel grows is how the subscribers will feel about the repurposed content. I guess, if they don't want to watch, they just skip it. Is my concern justified or no?
I wouldn't advise doing this for podcast. Because most podcasts are already long-form and you won't benefit from the discovery and recommendation rankings with a podcast like you can with UA-cam. As for your concern about the repurposed content, this was something I worried about for a long time. Especially as a newer creator, I always felt like I needed to publish something new and never revisit or repost. There's a balance in there to strike, but you should net more viewers overall with this strategy.
This is what Christian radio stations have been doing for the longest time, both in the US and in other countries, most notably Haven Today and Desiring God. They tend to divide a sermon into two or three, then broadcast them via radio within a 30 minute block time.
I have been watching videos at 2x for years and I find I follow stream of consciousness videos (i.e. unscripted) much better. Polished and scripted videos I might slow down to about 1.5. People tend to use alot of filler words when making their point so speeding up the video is actually better for comprehension.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️
Again, great content, but Im a little confused by the heading "DON'T Publish...". Aren't you simply suggesting to publish shorter/more targeted videos vs not publishing altogether? Or was that your hook? 😉😁
Ahh, this is difficult, do you actually see people coming to in church attendance? That seems to be the point in Scripture, since how else can you have true community apart from in person. I think we all know Zoom is more convenient but far less personal. Not to mention you can't experience the reality of sacraments without being in person.
I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. Look at the popularity of podcasts-people are willing to listen to podcasts that are one, two, three hours or longer.
In your option, knowing how UA-cam does things, could you still use UA-cam as your sermon archive (and to live stream) but mark all the live videos as unlisted once they go live. Then you could link them on your website still and in the end credits of the shorter video clips. Does this sound like a viable solution to have the best of both worlds, or is there no benefit of doing this?
Personally, if a church wants to archive sermons (and/or livestream services) and still try to have a digital ministry on-ramp via UA-cam, optimally I'd do a different channel for each because sermons and/or whole services are not really tailored for communicating on UA-cam.
Hello everyone, I can't quite articulate it but something in my spirit does not feel right about the point of this video. I think it has to do with the idea of adapting to cultural trends. In today's culture instant gratification is prevalent but something feels wrong with shortening a message given directly by God to the pastor. I think as long as the pastor goes back to God and asks God if it is ok and God say yes, then it's all good but I think it is important to realize that by the pastor asking God, the pastor is acknowledging that it is not the pastor's church but it is God's church. And, it is not the pastor's message but it is God's message. Much love to you all especially to all pastors and thank you for all you do wherever you serve❤🙏☝️❤
I agree with R ... this is another method of modifying our belief system, change the way it is presented to match the culture. God will not ask about how many views the church got. He will ask about your evangelizing methods. Did your church reach out to as many as it could as often as it could. WE do not save anyone. We do however share our faith and again, let the Holy Spirit do His work. To espouse a focus on outcomes is backwards. God probably would prefer to have a church to be 180 degrees out from how culture acts or receives information than try to make itself acceptable. What did Peter do after being beaten and told to stay away from the temple. He went right back to work and did not modify his approach. Neither should any church at any time. Easy believing... not biblical ever. One last thing, the epistles and the Old Testament were not made easier to read to meet the needs of those who were illiterate. God's word alone is powerful enough on its own.
I mean... If they can watch at home... Why would they come in and watch? And when they dont come in and watch... the church doesn't make as much money.
Sorry man, but I think you’re off base here. I get what you’re trying to do with this technique and it works. But having the full sermon is a must. There may be someone that needs to hear that full message and even if it only brings one person closer to Christ, that’s worth losing a few views. Making a blanket statement to stop uploading the full sermon is like asking your pastor to only preach for 15 minutes on Sunday morning; not gonna happen in a lot of churches.
Brady’s video does not have a blanket statement to stop uploading the full video. He even points out that the short video can have a link to the full video. So if a different section of people are minded to give over some time to watch 15 minutes then they still have the opportunity to see the full length version if they are interested. It’s “both and” not “either or”.
A lot of churches could stand to try and preach for 15 minutes on a Sunday 🤣 But for real, did you watch the video? It's another technique to get people to hear the good news, not the only way.
@@markwilliams4276 It's really the title of the video and the way he introduced the topic. "Both and" is a great technique if possible, no argument. But he introduced the topic saying that the full sermon should really only be an archive. I might have misheard or misremembered, but I thought he said that both the long and short content should really only be done by a church like Elevation because they can. I can't argue against techniques for additional content on top of the full sermon, that's great stuff. I just wish the title and intro weren't leading against publishing the full sermon.
The "holistic" approach might be fine and dandy if your church teaches salvation only by saying a prayer but it does nothing for churches whose plan of salvation encompasses things like baptism or life and practice. For such churches the only way for a person to be fully Christian is to engage in the local church, get baptized, and participate in the activities of the church. You can't do that couch serfing at home. The strategy is fine for non church ministries. But if you want a living thriving church the only way to accomplish that is to be a warring church that actually Hits the streets and reaches for souls. Churches that have becoming knitting clubs for effeminate and emasculated men will die out. Conversion is the ultimate goal. Not inspiration. Or community. Or entertainment. Or social demonstration. Anyone who puts these other things ahead of conversion will lose members as they should.
I got tagged in a tweet just last week by a church that had a person find them online, get connected, then fly to their campus to be baptized. Posting a sermon or sermon excerpt on UA-cam doesn’t makeup the entirety of a ministry - but it can play a powerful role nonetheless.
Nah man. He’s just saying the UA-cam algorithm isn’t going to reward a sermon-length video. I think most of us already knew that. So what, you should still post the sermon. We shouldn’t change our message for UA-cam. Jesus is our hook. That’s it. Period. If you are focusing on all of this rather than just reaching Jesus, then that’s wrong.
By that logic, why post to UA-cam at all? Why entrust social media to amplify your message? Simply preach in-person and let the Holy Spirit draw folks to you. Nothing else needed. I think using Jesus as our example is best. And when he spoke in the synoptic Gospels, about ⅓ of all of his teachings were parables. Instead of just teaching about forgiveness, he tells the story of the prodigal son. Now why would he do that? Why not just teach about the Kingdom of God? Why wrap it in stories? To make it more accessible to people. Being practical isn't antithetical to being spiritual.
I find that somewhat dubious, even in really rural areas there's almost always still a few churches. They may not be perfect, but they won't get any better from you outright avoiding them either. 😉
@@shaunsteele8244 I've been in professional ministry/missions for over 20 years and between seminary alumni and consulting for churches have connections to some great, and very theologically sound, churches scattered around Cali. I'd be happy to get you connected with one.

That’s awesome! You could use this same technique to turn 15 min sermons into 3 min TikToks and reach even more people.

My issue is with churches that become part of the world in order to reach the lost. Which is most of em.
You got me to click!
As a pastor of a church and also a small Christian UA-camr this was very helpful
!!!
@Da Name actually the point is, since churches don’t preach rightly anyways, they shouldn’t be posting them on UA-cam to begin with. Or the internet or anywhere.
Must have a taken a while to watch every church that has a youtube channel . 😉
@Da Name I disagree with you friend Kenneth brings up a valid point. I guess it's just a difference of perspective.
Listen/ask the Holy Spirit, he'll guide you to the right men/woman of God to Listen to.
Some good points here Brady! I think another avenue is also direct your audience to the church website, so create a video on demand strategy for archiving of sermons and church ministry. UA-cam is great for an alternate path to host, share, and build community. We had several paths at Harvest to distribute our content online.
Wow! Great information! I will be reaching out to you soon! Thanks.
Great video. I was just sharing this idea with Pastor. I noticed that most watch time is 15 minutes, and honestly I got that idea from Elevation as well. UA-cam shorts also help to drive views on videos. Thanks Brady for these videos. They are really helpful
Am only getting the 15 minutes videos from elevation. Been wondering where the whole sermon was. I get it now.
So all growing financially strong churches should employ digital engineers?
@@Brick1978 I'm not sure how to answer that, I'm not a digital engineer. I wear a lot of hats, managing UA-cam has become one of them.
I bought is was view that are watching you sermons and it has nothing to do with blessings
Good stuff, bro! We will work on creating the excerpts for "discovery" 👍🏼
So wise and not even 60...another great video Brady!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great point about holistic approach. This is a challenging topic to bring up to leadership having a limited understanding of reach.
That’s right! A sad, sad Niners fan 😂
Great video. It's definitely nice to have someone sharing with churches how to navigate in the digital space. Followed you everywhere.
Appreciate the support, Chris 🙏
@@prochurchtools Absolutely.

Great work, Brady.
Thanks Brady - very helpful information to consider in our digital strategy.
Just subscribed. Thank you for the intelligence.
Great to have you.
wow, i need to check out more of your videos, thanks for that insight
bless you, Brady!
Been doing this for years. Works well. One mention. Beware of reusable content flag if you are monitized and if you are using 2 separate channels for cutting out short versions. If on same channel the short and long version I personally haven’t had any problems. Thanks for the video.
Great insight.
That's why the solution is both!
Same here!
How do I get my church to understand this!!! They’re really trying but the social media team doesn’t really understand social media
This is gold
This is an awesome strategy - I loved the suggestion to use hooks! I will apply them to our Channel and see how that works. Thank you.
I enjoy watching UA-cam sermons
Thank you so much. I upload longer videos on this channel then upload a short from the video to my shorts channel (1 Minute With Tina) with the link to my full video but I don't change the title. I'm going to start doing that now.
This is an interesting topic - I am looking forward to hearing what you say on this one. You always have great insight on it.
Enjoy the video, David!
Amazing 🔥 this is a great idea for my church. thanks for sharing this 👍
Clearly, I must have missed something.
Just yesterday thinking about you guys! Thanks for always sharing ideas for churches!!!
Our pleasure!
So how do you drive people to the shorter version mid-week? (1. How is displayed on your channel? 2. Are you uploading it somewhere else (FB, IG) to drive people to it? Is it only 1 clip (changed our each week) as a "teaser", or do you archive them?
*changed out
Great video! Are there any more examples other than Elevation? I’m curious what this would look like if my pastor does not have his own branded UA-cam channel.
Post them to the same channel!
Brady, do you have anything for building an online ministry for someone who doesn't have a "church" per se but wants to build one online? I also suggest using UA-cam shorts based on
Hey Brady... Very nice my friend. Well done and great info. @@prochurchtools Nice! It matches your authenticity!
Do you leave the live streamed service up or edit it down to just the sermon?
Was attracted by the title 😅… somehow misleading. But inside, very useful content. Thanks.
May be one day you should talk about “Hook Titles” 🤔… God bless!
Hi.. I was wondering what would be the best tool to get clips from a long message? Thanks
Yes, i have the same question. How do we extract clips from our UA-cam videos and turn it into a separate shorter video?
If there is someone at your church who knows how to use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere (or even iMovie), those programs are popular choices.
If not, a really simple option you can use is UA-cam's own editing tool! You can look up videos on how to use UA-cam editor tool and you'll be able to use those instructions to get clips from a longer message. 😊
@@AliciaReneeGreer Thank you so much for your great help. I do appreciate it!
You could possibly use UA-cam shorts (
TB,......You have failed to understand that your church and every church is apostate from God and Biblical truth.
Thanks!
Yeah, that sounds perfect to me.
Give about 48 hours between each post to give the algorithm time to "learn" your video and find viewers looking for your content.
is that about can't realize real speaking of logos to be light in sermon, rev2:5?
We post our sermons for people who couldn't make it to service, and i am very grateful for that. View counts, subscribers, and the algorithm are not our concern.

Use playlists to separate your content. Playlists are treated just like videos by UA-cam, they get suggested as well as individual videos.
This is what Christian radio stations have been doing for the longest time, both in the US and in other countries, most notably Haven Today and Desiring God. They tend to divide a sermon into two or three, then broadcast them via radio within a 30 minute block time.
I watch everything on double speed so I can actually get through these really long sermon videos
Consider listening at half speed -- for meditation on the truths. 😁
@@chaddonal4331 I will just go back and rewatch if something provokes me to thought
I have been watching videos at 2x for years and I find I follow stream of consciousness videos (i.e. unscripted) much better. Polished and scripted videos I might slow down to about 1.5.
People tend to use alot of filler words when making their point so speeding up the video is actually better for comprehension.
Very helpful insights, thank you for sharing! Our church definitely wants to maximize its digital impact through UA-cam
Your thumbnail......... got me to click.
Great job 👍
Great video.
Thanks man, good insights!
Again, great content, but Im a little confused by the heading "DON'T Publish...". Aren't you simply suggesting to publish shorter/more targeted videos vs not publishing altogether? Or was that your hook? 😉😁
'Don't publish your sermons on UA-cam the way every church does it - do it this way instead.'
When churches broadcast their services on UA-cam then sermons are automatically included with it.
Thank you!
Ahh, this is difficult, do you actually see people coming to in church attendance? That seems to be the point in Scripture, since how else can you have true community apart from in person. I think we all know Zoom is more convenient but far less personal. Not to mention you can't experience the reality of sacraments without being in person.
Do you have the link for creating a hook?
Yeah, it's just last week's video. You can find it on our channel: ua-cam.com/video/CXh2j7Q_xIc/v-deo.html

You're welcome!
Is it okay to try to do this AND also keep posting full services to the same UA-cam channel?
Yep!
I'm guessing that is what Steven Crowder does when I see 5-6 minute clips from his super long episodes.
Good job
I feel like churches should still publish sermons because people online watch at home. But make shorts and other versions for new people.
Got misled by the title, how does that fit your values?
great tip
Here’s the SOLUTION! Just preach for 20 minutes! That’s our REAL attention span in 2022! 🤣🤣🤣
Churches are already only preaching for 20-30 mins
I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. Look at the popularity of podcasts-people are willing to listen to podcasts that are one, two, three hours or longer.
@@derekatkins4800 I sure wouldn't. Even at 2X speed. I have a job. I have a life.
Too bad our graduate diplomas did not come with a short attention Spand lol
Drop it!
I thought about doing this a month ago. Suppose I need to hop to. 😂
This video should have been 14:50
😭
What's the #1 visited site in the world.... if UA-cam is 2nd? :)
Google!
The recommendation here is to do both. Because that way you can reach even *more* people, without the need to create new content.
A lot of churches could stand to try and preach for 15 minutes on a Sunday 🤣
But for real, did you watch the video? It's another technique to get people to hear the good news, not the only way.
@@markwilliams4276 It's really the title of the video and the way he introduced the topic. "Both and" is a great technique if possible, no argument. But he introduced the topic saying that the full sermon should really only be an archive. I might have misheard or misremembered, but I thought he said that both the long and short content should really only be done by a church like Elevation because they can. I can't argue against techniques for additional content on top of the full sermon, that's great stuff. I just wish the title and intro weren't leading against publishing the full sermon.
@@ethananibal1241 yes I do see what you mean - it’s definitely one of those titles to draw you in which is not then the real conclusion of the piece.
Incredible content - thank you
Don’t be greedy with your faith.
Its the food that was a quick vote

You're welcome!
Surah Al Iklas
No one is going to address his haircut?
He’s sayin in ADDITION to post shorter snippets. I think it’s brilliant.
@@judierose7 i dont think he watched the full video. Considering how he started off by saying u shud still pos the sermon.
I don't live within driving distance of any Biblical churches, so UA-cam sermons are all I have. Don't take them from me
I find that somewhat dubious, even in really rural areas there's almost always still a few churches.
