Nearly 2 years after the release of this phone, Samsung seems to have done some positive optimization on the software end with OneUI 4. The battery life gap between both variants has narrowed significantly, although the performance gap still remains.

I'm glad Jerry also took this up because I was hugely disappointed when I bought my Note 9 in Nigeria 🇳🇬 and it was Exynos. PS: the processor also reduces the camera performance and that was the major reason I bought the phone.
Lol if you are buying a phone and most important for you is camera, never pick Samsung, it's pretty overpriced shit on exynos, while on Snapdragon is just overpriced due to super agressive Samsung marketing, just pick Huawei, they specialise on cameras, or pick latest Xiaomi mi 10 ultra
Customer: Why this phone has different components than the rest? Samsung: Oh... Well? We had some usless components that we ordered by mistake and we couldn't return them... And we recycle anything.
to be fair to samsung, exynos used to be better than snapdragon up until galaxy s9, if you watch comparison videos s7 s8 exynos was better. so samsung is still improving on it, so what they should do is, provide both variants and let the user pick, but by default if a user doesnt pick they get exynos. and if lesser people by exynos after the next phone release then they reduce the prices of the exynos and still keep the snapdragon higher.
Thanks a ton to Zack... As most of us completely unknown about these details would never come to know how we are getting fooled. Pls keep up the good work sir.
Finally someone with a huge enough reach talking about this. Samsung’s practices are questionable. Thank god someone is speaking out instead of just being given a free device by Samsung with the snapdragon for positive reviews. Also to mention they are now region restricting devices with ssd/ram also (check tab s7+) I really don’t understand the logic but i know for a fact it’s anti consumer. Unfortunately this is why I stick with Apple at-least I know exactly what I’m getting hardware and software wise. Samsung seem to pick and choose prioritising certain regions over others.
Car manufacturers do this all the time... An identical model sold in Mexico will not have all the required safety equipment as the same model sold in the US therefore cheaper but same name.
Finally!! US tech reviewers are giving this ridiculous problem a awareness. I used all of my Samsung on Exynos starting S4 and then S7/Note 8, they were ok, but with S9 things got very weird. And i ended up with imported S20+ (Hong Kong version) with snapdragon, and i can't be happier about this decision.
They can use both in order to promote competition, but they should differentiate phones both in name and the price. They are trying to use their brand to abuse users trust and sell phones to people who don't do much homework when looking for a phone.
I think the problem is that Samsung has more control over the production of the Exynos over the Snapdragon processors. They have two separate versions because they want their own in house processor to take precedence but they cant beat Snapdragon so they cheat and sell the better processor to the markets they care more about as to not lose face while trying to get the Exynos chip to compete. Kinda scummy but i can understand their desire to have more control over the processors they use in their phones, they have the same issue with Android and Google. Their phones uses Googles Android OS, but they really don't like that and try to find a way around it by using their own in house OS, which can't compete with Android so they lose performance and piss people off.
Hmm, I have known for some time that Samsung change internal components depending which region there are selling into. ie cheaper components in India, more premium components in the US/Euro. In all honesty, I look at my phone as a complete package, I am well aware the Exnos chips is a bit sluggish. but even so I don't really see any complaints. I do hope that the Exnos becomes true competition to Snapdragon, as the more choices OEM's have the better for us all. I wonder how Samsung is doing with AMD Radeon IP.
I live in the UK and literally would've bought a note 10 plus if it had a Snapdragon chip. Went with the iPhone xs instead. Sorry but I'm not paying more than Americans for a weaker chip
Honestly, I had the Exynos version of the S20+ and almost had the same battery life as my 4-year-old S7 Edge which is not even funny for such an expensive phone. Samsung either provide the same product to everyone or do what OnePlus does and release the phone to only a certain part of the world.
Don't worry. I have the s10e for a year now and the battery drains like crazy i don't know why. Inatagram for example, i don't even use it but it says active time: 20 minutes and background:1h 40min draining 8%. I don't know why this battery is doing this
I went with oneplus 8 pro over s20+ exynos from note 9 this year, price difference was only about 20€ the s20+ more expensive. My toughs are that the oneplus software feels "chinese" unfinished unpolished, the community is also very toxic, performs very well in games better than my friends s20+, but in everyday use apps the s20+ is as fast and a lot better because of the one ui.

And I moved to Pixel 2XL after exynos s7 which at the moment of retirement also had an inadequate battery draining and a burned out screen in the upper part. Couldn't be happier, Pixel experience FTW
Same bro I shifted from s8+ to OnePlus 8 pro
Well if you live in north America then nothing wrong with buying a Samsung.
Same hear..
Exynos has been fail last three gens, and it´s damn stupid from Samsung to still keep it. Should be SD worldwide..:)
Agreed! But the aim here is more money for Exynos since it's built in-house.
990 biggest fail/failure
9810 and 9820 still good, but not good as snapdragon proc
True
Or put it In the budget phones
Monopoly is a bad thing. I would prefer competition, even if it is shity
Samsung is selling a knock-off version of its own phone in select markets. Disgusting.
Funny thing is, it's not select markets, it's the majority, the snapdragon is the select market version
Most Asian car manufacturers do this as well; they send a premium product to the US and for the same price an inferior product to developing markets. Kia, Hyundai; Nissan; Mazda even Toyota. Exceptions are Subaru and Honda, they maintain same quality.
And they even cost more here in Europe... my S20+ may very well be my last Samsung phone.
@@felipeosorio6772 All car manufacturers do that. Looking at the US and Canadian versions of cars vs the ones they sell in the Latin American market at more expensive prices and yet, less safety features and cutting corners everywhere at the expense of safety and the lives of people involved in crashes.
@@serdiefgotreb The damn northern hemisphere is shitting the southern hemisphere. That's the real truth. Disgusting people.

You got me again!
Can we just appreciate his efforts !!!♥️♥️🥂
With 6 million subs, I think we already do.
👆🏼 This!
2 options:
•Give everyone Snapdragon or Exynos Processors.
•Make their Exynos chips BETTER!!!!
3rd option: clearly disclose what you're selling, and price it accordingly
@@pvshka They really need to change their decisions on Exynos or Qualcomm processors. It's not fair that some countries have an advantage over the others.
I miss the days when exynos was much better
There's supposed to be the "new Exynos" with ARM cores (vs the current Mongoose architecture they're currently using) and AMD graphics which looked promising, but based on rumours, it might not here anytime soon...
@@musicalworld2168 yes, obviously, both versions should be available in all markets.
"The Note 10 might be the last samsung phone I use , after that I'm gonna branch out " , so will I man
I was going to buy a note 20 as an upgrade from my S9 ,nope not anymore I'll branch out as well.
Be there. We will be waiting for your return. People usually use one plus or other phones once, and then notice the huge difference. Then they silently return.
Same, Im moving on from my S9+, I was thinking about buying a S20+ but I gave up since I only find Exynos models which I started to dislike over the years..
I bought shipped phones from different country just to buy a snapdragon model. What a hassle
Tetete Tetete well, I switched away from Scamsung, went to OnePlus, and now I’m with Apple.
I don’t ever see myself going back.
Awesome video. I really admire your work. Thanks for it. I wonder if you have any problems from samsung because of this video?
