I'm over it. I wasn't mad in the first place. Disappointed yes but looking at how much emotional struggle that man was going through. It made me see it as an outburst, bad decision of course but just a damn bursting situation. I think it's time for Will to be allowed to be Will again.

Speaking solely for myself, it's time for Will Smith to work on rebuilding his image. I'm not a 'Bad Boys' fan, but this is probably a good way for him to start the journey - a sort of crowd pleasing film.
And thankfully, he still has I Am Legend 2 and Sugar Bandits to work on after this.
We all make mistakes i think people forget that sometimes. I'm all in and ready to see these two make me laugh once again.

I don't care what is going on in Will's personal life with Jada, or the slap, or any of the allegations that have been swirling around him. Just don't. He is a very likable guy, a likable actor, and I love Martin, and the last Bad Boys was very good. I was never bored. So, I for one, am gonna check it out.

Will Smith is not a repeat offender for example like R. Kelly or someone like that. It was the heat of the moment and all rationale went out the window where he had to prove his manhood for his woman and himself being disrespected. I get it. A lot of guys probably would have done the same thing. But again he's not a repeat offender. He genuinely and inspiration to a lot of people so I am totally ready to see him get back on top of his game. And I am definitely ready for Bad Boys 4.
I’m a huge fan of the Bad Boys franchise and a huge fan of Will Smith! Having said that, ever since the “slap”, I’ve had a hard time watching him play certain actors. Mike Lowry from Bad Boys was one of the coolest on screen characters, and now he just looks like a “simp” being portrayed by Will after what he did 🤔🤷🏾♂️🤦🏽♂️

You are completely correct. Nobody needs to act like he committed a crime, did something illegal, graped or SA someone, ran over a dog or anything like that. What he did was an L but like Kris said there's people whose done far worse past and present and a certain music producer comes to mind and they are walking around free. I don't know whether or not others are ready for it but I know I am. Been looking forward to Bad Boys 4 ever since the last one came out. Its one of my favorite Buddy Cop movie series ever and the Oscar thing never ruined my anticipation for it (although it did question whether or not the movie was still gonna get made). People need to learn how to forgive and let things go. I feel like everybody took the Will Smith Oscars situation way too personal when it has nothing to do with them. Its between Will and Chris Rock. Let them figure it out between themselves. What he did was definitely wrong, so I get people being upset initially, but there are way worse things that happened and are probably still happening in Hollywood right now. People acting like the man was out here killing babies or something.
I also find it interesting that in a day and age where mental health is being pushed pretty extensively, no one's really talking about Will's mental health side of things. Most people are more concerned about the drama and the public perception of it all rather than checking to see if Will is getting the help he needs. Clearly the man was going through some things to do something so publicly uncharacteristic of himself. And its not hard to find out why. He had one major fuck up his whole career and people are now acting like he's the devil.
I’ll go see it, think he’s paid the price and frankly I’m over it, hope the film does well.

What Will Smith did was ridiculous and it lowered my opinion of him, but I didn't for one minute even consider not seeing his movies because of it. He's a good actor who usually picks good projects to do - the slap heard round the world certainly didn't change that. The only person who might still hold a grudge over it is Chris Rock.

Nah. Chris Rock made a dumb joke that wasn't even funny, but slapping someone across the face isn't what I'd call "pure" or "great". At the end of the day, I don't think Will Smith should be permanently shunned or blacklisted, but we shouldn't write off stuff like that just because someone's blinded by their adoration.
Comedy is often a safe way for society to give voice to difficult truths. Everyone knows Jada is a POS torturing Will because he made the mistake of falling for a sociopath but is so lost in the sauce he can't find his own way out. Chris, like all of us, is sick of watching her ruin a good man out of spite & jealousy.
