Great job Justin , look forward to all your vids . One thing ! The EC OFF-ROAD 10 inch head unit you installed are you still happy with it and would you still recommend it .
Just wanted to ask a question in regards to the strips that go vertically on to the van to secure the end sections of the awning. Was this something you did yourself?
Yeah I find if you tension the rafters enough and strap the awning barrel down with tent pegs it’s all good for flapping, if it gets any stronger wind we just roll it away to be safe. The end bars are great but bulky to carry
@@TripInAVan That's good as we came across a few on the road with drilled holes via the dealer and when they went to extend the legs then put the anti flap and awning rafters then things just did not quite align as the awning barrel rolls towards the ground as the legs are pulled out..
We have the Aussie Traveller anti flap kit which includes two of the curved internal rafters plus their custom end rafters for each end. When fitted, the awning seems so solid I reckon I could use it for chin-ups. Great work on showing the install Justin!
No matter what you see other blokes do, or what they might say...do not drill holes in metal, at or above eye level (especially as close as this one) without eye protection. It only takes one splinter in your eye to fuck your whole day (or more) up. It happened on two separate occasions to me in the days when employers didn't supply safety gear. There is no excuse for this stupidity today (".)
Great Job! It's great to see you do these jobs with your tradie assistant Bec, it's always educational to learn thanks mate for sharing! Thumbs up!

They were done at the factory but can be installed DIY as well
Have you ever used any type of awning deflappers since your been travelling
We used the full sidebar ones that you can slide annex walls into. They work really well, just bulky to carry
Didn't go for the end rafters as well? Any reason why or just don't need them?

What is the result of the drilled hole position when drop the awning legs to be vertical 8:26 ?
Yeah it’s all good. We have pegged ours down a few times since installing

Are these different to the ones you did last time?
Nope, same rafters, just put the vid on its own as a diy , so it’s easier to find when I get asked 🤙
Here you go, you have”Measure twice cut once” from your Dad. Can you take crack of what one quote of wisdom will stick with your kids?
I always say, if in doubt, don’t! I reckon they will be saying that forever
🤙
Have I got crazy or has this been posted before?...lol
It was part of a going south episode, yep. I’m doing all my diy vids as stand alone vids now to make them easier to find for viewers🤙
First 😉
