    The back foot drop knee is a proper game changer in Backside surfing. I could feel the difference from the minute I started doing it a while back. It also creates room for the bottle turn and the twist at the top

    Such a great video...As a goofyfoot, I'm nearly always backside, and I struggle with my position. Longboarded for years and I'm actually trying to learn shortboarding in my 50's...This is the best explanation of how and when to position my trailing hand ...So helpful!. Appreciate you focusing on backside surfing...

    I grew up body boarding beach breaks surfing like 5 years now. I find when I go to reef breaks i stay ahead of the pocket because i’m searching for speed but don’t really need it. I find a wavestorm helps me learn back foot control & slowing down, but not really a long board surfer. Timing my turns & hitting the sweet spot on the wave seems to be my hinderance rn.

    i surf one of the crappiest surf breaks in all of California, El Porto. On any good day, the waves are thumpers, just dredging closeouts. Would you say that for a surfer like me trying to improve, it is a lot harder to practice maneuvers on these types of waves, waves that have no face? And also, would you be able to tell me what I can do to practice my maneuvers on fast closeout waves like this, if so any? I ride a 5'11" squash tail.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  2 роки тому

      I’ve surfed that wave… close outs are tough for doing maneuvers. I highly recommend you take a drive to your local point breaks. I won’t mention the names to those breaks out of respect to the locals but you know where they are.

    Hi Noel
    Question, I’m getting a Cabianca Uber twin and was deciding on either 2 3/8 or 2 7/16 thick. I love my 5’6 black baron @ 2 3/8.
    Do u think I should stick with the 2 3/8 for the Uber twin or go up a bit??
    Thanks

    Hi Noel,
    Im currently looking for my next board and was hoping to get your opinion, my skill level is between intermediate and advanced, I had been riding an Tomo Evo 5'6 (32litres) and am looking for something to push myself a bit more, i am currently tossing up between a Neckbeard 3 at 5'10 or a Pyzel phantom XL in 5'10 both in the 32litre range, would love to get your thoughts between the two. Failing been able to make my mind up im also looking at a Pyzel Astro pop in around the same litreage because it just looks like it blitzes.
    Huge fan of the channel and can't give enough praise for the amount of work you are putting in and knowledge you're making available to the public, many thanks 🙏

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  2 роки тому +1

      Both boards you are considering are epic… however they are considerably longer at 5’10” compared to your EVO at 5’6”. You will feel the extra length for sure. The NB3 and P2 will feel like your turns are longer and drawn out a bit compared to your 5’6”. The AP will be quicker and more fun in 1-4’ surf but it will struggle a bit in 4-6’ hollow steep waves. I suggest the Dominator 2 for 3-6’ surf to replace your 5’6” or the AP for 1-4’.

    Hey noel! I watched you video on how to dial in your liter range on a surfboard. You talk about the levels of the surfers: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
    I was uncertain on what do you consider these levels of surfing. How does a beginner surf? How does a intermediate surf? How does a Advanced surfer surf? What maneuvers are these level surfers doing
    Im on the process of choosing my next shortboard and want to make a good decisión.
    Im currently riding a 5’8 hypto 31 liters. Im 145pounds and im looking for a surfboard for all conditions. I was thinking to get a board with a bit more rocker so it can go vertical better.
    I can say that ive mastered this board. I tend to surf smaller softer waves. And im looking for a one board quiver. I also dont want to go so low on liters. I was thinking on getting a 5’8 or 5’9 holy grail.
    Sorry for all the info, but what do you think? And what board would you reccommend me? Thankyou Noel!

      The Holy Grail is epic and it’s best in 3-6’ surf. It surfs the pocket very well too.
      A couple other boards I love that shred 2-6’ surf are…
      Dominator 2
      Rocket Wide Squash
      Mini Ghost Squash

    Noel...question not really related to this topic, well maybe a little....why do the pros seem to always ride round tails in comps? Even when the waves arent pumping, most of them seem to be on round tails. Any idea why or what the advantage is? Thanks

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  2 роки тому +1

      Round tails offer excellent hold and drive through turns. The pros are amazing at using their rails and round tails to gain speed. The resistance and hold the pros feel from the round tail and rocker enable them to push harder through turns. Most of us surfers like less rocker in our boards to gain speed along with a wider tail block for glide and lift to help us gain speed.

    • @hewonyew
      @hewonyew 2 роки тому +1

      @@surfnshowreviews7777 Ah thanks for that Noel. So a mere mortal like me would most likely bog down with a big rockered round tail....that about right?

      @@hewonyew If the waves you surf are steep or super hollow then you will love a HPSB with a Round Tail. If you surf smaller waves most of the time then maybe the NB3 or Mini Ghost Round tail would be fun
