I met Sax in 1986 at the Mark Cresse School of Baseball. He was super nice. I was 12 and he was my favorite player. It was amazing to meet my hero and not be disappointed.
Cresse was a strong dude!
@Sammy_say_it_aint_Sosa he was built pretty well. I remember him hitting a ball off a tee. It was a line drive that easily cleared the fence. My 12 yr old brain was like, how is this guy not in the lineup? Sax was freaking thick, though, too. He was strong and obviously took very good care of himself. He had that "V" shape. He was the first professional athlete I'd ever seen. I remember thinking, these guys are just built different. It was one of the best times of my life.
Steve Sax is a national baseball treasure. Good to see everything he's doing for his son's foundation. #3
Thanks for all the kind words about the painting. AJ...lots going on! But yes this a great project Steve is doing..for a great cause.
Good to see Steve Sax is OK. He was a very good ball player and a nice guy.
Get em Sax!
My deepest condolences to you and your family Mr. Sax.
My all-time favourite Dodger - still heart broken he didn't resign after 1988. One of my favourite moments ever was getting autographs from him, John Shelby and Jeff Hamilton at the airport. Very gracious and signed my pennant and baseball card.
He was traded for Willie Randolph. We had our " Future" SS in Jose Offerman.
@@Sammy_Boy_Smith Yankees signed him as a FA and so the Dodgers ended up signing Randolph as a FA to replace him. So they traded spots but weren't traded for each other. I always wonder if the Dodgers had resigned Sax they might not have traded Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields? Oh well...
Tennis went to tech decades ago. Baseball is long overdue in taking human error out of the game.
Steve Sax. My favorite player growing up as a kid.👍🏼
that painting is incredible
Thanks Scotty
Favorite Dodger growing up. He is a great person.
def need that painting in parks
Cool painting... a true piece of Baseball history... Really, the problem with Umpires is they may be held accountable behind closed doors... but without being able to be fired... it's just talk... I can understand not punishing umpires for players where they kick the call on balls/strikes.. (unless like angels swing call a few weeks ago) or even those plays that require super slo-mo to really tell one way or the other. But calls that are "You have got to be kidding me"... those needs to be held against them... the balls/strikes and really close ones... they have to make the call at real time full speed NO REPLAY... I give them a pass (which is why those are NOT supposed to be argued.. by the rulebook.. yeah, they have replay now... still).. The Aaron Boone EJ.. just bad umpiring..
Ahhh, Dwight Gooden was on drugs (sour grapes lol).
Triple the attendance?..
So 5000 ppl a game?
Sorry, once I heard NFT I was out.
