If everyone only went to japan.. Stations have unique tunes, the olde telephone kiosk says "morning and thanks" with little LCD of a person bowing.. Eveything has a purpose ;-)))
I work at a Honda manufacturing warehouse and we have Makitas everywhere I’m definitely going in tomorrow and change all of them and see how long it takes for people to freak out about it. This is going to be great.
Unfortunately only like 6 people noticed because it’s so loud and the chargers are old and covered with years of dust so it’s not that loud but my team leader has one at his desk and was trying to figure out why it kept playing songs and when I told him how to do it he went to other areas and did it to them. But it was still pretty entertaining. And I did it for my makitas at home and my double battery dock is so loud I hear it across my house when my batteries are charged. Hahaha
I read this in the manual of my very first Lithiun Ion Makita charger years ago. What is good fun is changing your mates charger tune without them knowing and watching the look of confusion on their face when they charge a battery.
Probably already done somewhere but... after the two "beeps" 1- Beethoven's "Fur Elise" 2- Boccherini's "String Quintet in E Major, Op.11 No.5" 3- Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" 4- Baseball tune No 2 definitely my favourite. :)
If you have the dual port charger you can actually set dif tunes for each side. I run 2 dual ports and have each of the 4 bays set to their own tune. Makes it real easy to know which battery is charged without having to go look
Just tried it with my new Makita charger, so cool! I also have a 10 year old Makita charger, it does the same thing!!! I’ve been using that charger for 10 years, never knew about that feature! Cool video VCG!
Yeah, I’ve had my charger set up like that forever, I can’t tell you how many times guys are suprised it can play a tune like that. It’s cool to see the new chargers kept that feature
Dude, omfg dude!! You were so right! I did exactly that! I jumped up, went 20 feet outside and realised my 3 yr old charger isn't broken at all! Changed my life bro, changed my life! T H A N K Y O U
😂 I use to think mine was broken never made a sound, but since I’ve sold all my Makita tools and switched to Milwaukee . The one thing that I absolutely loved was the charge time on the batteries .
I love the music features. Sometimes I can't hear the default beeps when my batteries finish charging. The tunes make it easier to hear. Even though the LEDs will say the battery is finished charging, the fan will turn off after a while I guess to cool the battery 🔋 fully.
Whoever is at Makita marketing is a genius. All those are "World" themes, meaning doesn't matter what country you're in, you'd more than likely known the tune or have heard it. :D
Does this mean the Makita is far superior to the others? Is it worth dumping my DeWault for Makita? Ah but do the other chargers give us better tunes?😳😂 Thank you for brightening my day.
Makes complete sense when you're batteries are cooking alongside a bunch of other chargers on a jobsite. P.S. The animatronic tin soldier that stands in my yard during Christmas season needs a dance partner; you busy?
Thanks not only informative but entertaining as well. I've heard other people's chargers play a tune but to be honest I never even wondered why mine only beeped , I guess I just assumed they had a slightly higher value charger than I. Now that I know , I like the baseball tune. I played softball as a teen for a church group for years, I really miss those days.👍👍👍 But to be really honest when I read your title , I went to a more covert operations thinking there was a hidden communications or listening feature...😎
Thanks so much for this! One of the guy's Makita chargers at work had a tune on it, but I assumed it was an older model. I never read the instructions on how to change it! I'll be having fun now, so will the kids!
My Dad is a big Makita guy I will have to pass the information along to him. Sweet music on the second time change lol. Sweet dance brother haha. I don't see any other channel making this kinda video. Keep up the good work. 👍👍🤘
I really enjoyed your video my husband passed away and I don't know how to use these tools so I was looking for video on how to use this particular charger thank you so much that was very entertaining in edition. You made it fun. Now I'm gonna learn how to drill everything. Where are those bit. Im on the hunt😂
watch I bought a double charger 5 years ago online. I thought I had found a "Good Deal". I was crushed when the music did not work. I just figured that is why I got such a good deal. Besides, who reads instructions! Well I am glad YOU did! I could not get to the old charger fast enough! Wow! The music is back! I actually cheered! My girlfriend just rolled he eyes, and walked away....LOL
When I saw this the other day, I thought, "big deal, so what?" I never even knew my charger beeped, let alone did tunes. I tried it, and it works and is very handy, to be fair. Eating my tea the other night ( aka evening meal to you Americans and Londoners, lol), and a tune started playing, took me a few seconds to realise what it was. It is a great tip to stop me from forgetting to unplug the charger when it is out of sight and not noticing the green light. A good tip that man. cheers old boy.
Changing the 'finished' sound works on my single charger but not on my dual charger. No matter I love my cordless Makita tools - the impact drill gets used in daylight only so will have to stay up after dark for the light show, 😎
I work at a cemetery and I find myself whistling the whole tune of "Minuetto" from String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5 by Luigi Boccherini. Wonderful feature that adds a bit of joy to my day, I love classical music.
This is one of the features I DEARLY miss after jumping to the Milwaukee m12 line. Super nice when everyone had different chimes and you'd know who's batteries were done when
thank you i didn't know how it happened when the fleur de lis started playing and after a few months couldn't stand it. Absolutely wild to hear Mozart out of a makita battery charger
I'm glad you mentioned not reading the manual right at the start. I just got my first power tool set last week, from Makita, and adjusting the sounds was one of the first items I did. 😂
I've known about this feature and I love it! When I talk to someone else about makita, I ask them if their aware of it as well... If not, instead of just explaining it myself, I show them this video just to watch your snazzy dance moves lol.
I just found your channel 2 days ago... I stopped the video and grabbed both my old and new Makita chargers before the video ended! 👍🏻 👍🏻 The old charger (DC18RA) does play the music 😎 but the new charger (DC18SD) does not. 😕 (It feels chintzy, so I wasn't surprised.) Pretty sweet video! Made my day... my kids all laughed 😂🤣🤣 (the wife just gave me the old eye-roll and said I'm as bad as the kids). 😆
That tune is Eine kleine Nachtmusik[a] (Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major), K. 525, is a 1787 composition for a chamber ensemble by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The German title means "a little serenade", though it is often rendered more literally as "a little night music".[
I know this has nothing to do with today's video but home depot has some Best Buy deals on shockwave and and M18 fuel set and shock wave if anybody's intrested
I remember many years ago when I got my Makita gear I found this and went round construction sites changing the tunes on all the Makita chargers ( I'm a sparkie) ... Damn for weeks it confused the feck out of my colleagues.
Thanks for this, had Makita tools for liek 10 years and never knew this lol. Now we can keep controll of who owns what charger at the workplace by sound =) So again THANKS =)
The reason they use classical music is that the copyright has expired on each of the works! Classic, though! It's a great idea where you're working alongside others, you'll know when YOUR battery is charged by the different tune.
I recently bought a new charger. I see the music sign on the panel but my charger never played beep on insert or music after battery is fully charged. I was thinking to return the charger thinking its faulty. Its very helpful to know by this video that charger has options from silent to music mode. And mine was set at silent by default from factory 😃. Thanks for saving my time and hassle of returning.
I really doubted if this was real, but the run to the garage was worth it and so was the money spent on the equipment. Haha. Thanks for the great video...
"How to make your Makita charger sound like an 8-bit video game"
🤣🤣
Or an old Nokia 5110 mobile phone.,
If everyone only went to japan.. Stations have unique tunes, the olde telephone kiosk says "morning and thanks" with little LCD of a person bowing.. Eveything has a purpose ;-)))
This could have been a 60 second video
Or 45 seconds with a LOT LESS YELLING,!., a new yorker by chance???👎
Yanks love to hear their own voice, hence the over talking.
I work at a Honda manufacturing warehouse and we have Makitas everywhere I’m definitely going in tomorrow and change all of them and see how long it takes for people to freak out about it.
This is going to be great.
How did it go?
Unfortunately only like 6 people noticed because it’s so loud and the chargers are old and covered with years of dust so it’s not that loud but my team leader has one at his desk and was trying to figure out why it kept playing songs and when I told him how to do it he went to other areas and did it to them. @@Whateveryouwannacallme Six is better than none! :)
Harbor Freight makes something similar, except when you rapidly remove and reinsert the battery, it breaks.
LOLOL
Lmfao 🤣
Made me laugh out loud
LOL
😂😂😂😂
I read this in the manual of my very first Lithiun Ion Makita charger years ago. What is good fun is changing your mates charger tune without them knowing and watching the look of confusion on their face when they charge a battery.
Oh man that's funny. I'm going to do this to my father-in-law. He is going to be so confused lol.
Your wife's charger?
Every Makita charger has had this feature since 2005. True story.
My 2008 teal colored LXT 12 volt charger doesn't and I tried. Only Mains versions but it still has the cooling fan but takes twice as long to charge.
Probably already done somewhere but... after the two "beeps"
1- Beethoven's "Fur Elise"
2- Boccherini's "String Quintet in E Major, Op.11 No.5"
3- Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik"
4- Baseball tune
No 2 definitely my favourite.
:)
i thoght that was wiliam tell overture by Rossini.
It least I guessed the composer correctly, considering I only know the names of only, like 2 motifs of classical pieces.
No 2 is "Minuetto", 3rd movement from String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5 by Luigi Boccherini. Just in case you want that surgical precision. 😉
Awesome cuz, glad the video is helpful!
Yeah, I’ve had my charger set up like that forever, I can’t tell you how many times guys are suprised it can play a tune like that. It’s cool to see the new chargers kept that feature
That’s why it’s always good to read the instructions. Good job Vince
I thought the instructions were just for making that metal straps crashing sound.... who knew?!?
Dude, omfg dude!! You were so right! I did exactly that! I jumped up, went 20 feet outside and realised my 3 yr old charger isn't broken at all! Changed my life bro, changed my life! T H A N K Y O U
When I first started hearing this on jobsites I would be like who’s old ass phone is going off😂answer your phone!
😂😂
Same 😂😂
Having owned these for maybe 10 years...and having read the book back then, this is 9 minutes of my life I'll never get back....
You are right after watching this I rushed to try this .
Meanwhile, the homeowner you're working for is standing in the hallway trying to work out what's going on with his doorbell.
😂 I use to think mine was broken never made a sound, but since I’ve sold all my Makita tools and switched to Milwaukee . The one thing that I absolutely loved was the charge time on the batteries .
makita should make it so it can play a sound bite...like nick yelling "lets go baby" or vince saying "here's the deal...your battery is charged" 😂😂
Love it that would be cool @KingOfTheCrease30
OMG!!!!! I have spent the last 3 Years wondering why my charger has played different songs. 🤣😂🤣 thanks guys for making my day. 👍👏🏻👏🏻
I was going to comment on this video yesterday but it took me a whole day to stop laughing. Lol, its the simple things that make life great.
Very true Howie!! 👍🏻
Everything You missed by not reading your manual. ☝🏻 me ! I did not read the manual. Now here I am.
Thank you for this cool video.
I love the music features. Sometimes I can't hear the default beeps when my batteries finish charging. The tunes make it easier to hear. Even though the LEDs will say the battery is finished charging, the fan will turn off after a while I guess to cool the battery 🔋 fully.
In order: "Fur Elise," Beethoven; "The Entertainer," Joplin; "Rondo Alla Turca," Mozart; and of course, baseball's "Charge," Tommy Walker.
Thanks Michelle, we appreciate the names in the playlist! 👍🏻
The section in the manual should have said "How to annoy people on the job site".
IMPRESSIVE ears!
Whoever is at Makita marketing is a genius. All those are "World" themes, meaning doesn't matter what country you're in, you'd more than likely known the tune or have heard it. :D
@Jeffrey Doerfler too bad no moonlight sonata.
To cycle through you can just push it on a bit then slide back and forth. You don't have to click and release each time.
Vince dances like the dolls in the Disney ride It’s a Small World!😂 Great video boys!
🤣🤣
That ride scares the hell out of me
On the jobsite, I thought I was losing my mind, thinking I heard a different tune. Phew! Not quite lost yet!
🤣🤣
This is great. Ran outside to my van late at night to go grab my charger and batteries. My wife wasn't as excited as I was.
🤣 they never are! 🤣
Does this mean the Makita is far superior to the others? Is it worth dumping my DeWault for Makita? Ah but do the other chargers give us better tunes?😳😂 Thank you for brightening my day.
Thanks bro ,, I’m rolling with the baseball theme with that clever !!Charge!! reference,, to it ….go dodgers 2023 and forever ! btw
Makes complete sense when you're batteries are cooking alongside a bunch of other chargers on a jobsite. P.S. The animatronic tin soldier that stands in my yard during Christmas season needs a dance partner; you busy?
Legend!! Here I am on site complaining my charger doesn't make a tune.. can't wait to show the boys
Normally I wouldn't notice or care less about the tune but you made it seem so important I have to give you a thumbs up for entertainment
Thanks not only informative but entertaining as well. I've heard other people's chargers play a tune but to be honest I never even wondered why mine only beeped , I guess I just assumed they had a slightly higher value charger than I. Now that I know , I like the baseball tune. I played softball as a teen for a church group for years, I really miss those days.👍👍👍
But to be really honest when I read your title , I went to a more covert operations thinking there was a hidden communications or listening feature...😎
Seeing Vince break it down to Fur Elise got my like! Who says construction dudes can't be cultured?
Thanks so much for this! One of the guy's Makita chargers at work had a tune on it, but I assumed it was an older model. I never read the instructions on how to change it! I'll be having fun now, so will the kids!
that classical music got me, imma go get one of these fast chargers just so i can have this cool tunes usage
My Dad is a big Makita guy I will have to pass the information along to him. Sweet music on the second time change lol. Sweet dance brother haha. I don't see any other channel making this kinda video. Keep up the good work. 👍👍🤘
Did he say Wait? What!
Been using Makita tool for years and I dint even know about this feature until today brother 👏
This made my day🤣🤣🤣. I already tried it before the end of the video
Well that’s why you have to read the manual😭 thanks buddy. New subscriber here😏
Welcome aboard
I got nothing out of this video except watching a full-grown ass man act like a kid over nothing. Unbelievable.
This blew my mind!! 🤣🤣 i instantly ran to grab one of my changers
I really enjoyed your video my husband passed away and I don't know how to use these tools so I was looking for video on how to use this particular charger thank you so much that was very entertaining in edition. You made it fun. Now I'm gonna learn how to drill everything. Where are those bit. Im on the hunt😂
Glad the video was helpful, good luck.
Finally......FINALLY!!!! Finally, you show 250k ppl,in one setting, how to change that darned tune! 🤣 Great dancing, Vince, and God bless! 😁👍✌
Thanks Dave we appreciate it!
watch

Thank you for the moves, and now I’m going to the garage.
When I saw this the other day, I thought, "big deal, so what?" I never even knew my charger beeped, let alone did tunes. I tried it, and it works and is very handy, to be fair. It is a great tip to stop me from forgetting to unplug the charger when it is out of sight and not noticing the green light. A good tip that man. cheers old boy.
At 3:40 I ran to my 2023 dc18rc AND MYdc18as… not only does this work as above I can add I just found out it works on the old DC18RA😮!!!!
Another reason why makita is my favorite
Whaaattt... i live with my charger for years and never know that.. you r awesome dude..
I went straight in and gave it a crack. Hahahhaaha! I love it ❤ It's changed my life.
This is one of the features I DEARLY miss after jumping to the Milwaukee m12 line. Super nice when everyone had different chimes and you'd know who's batteries were done when
That sounds like you guys had a fun time with that too 🤣
Vince the construction nerd!😂 Great video brother!🔥
Excellent video explains a lot I wondered why it was keep making different noises? 😀
thank you i didn't know how it happened when the fleur de lis started playing and after a few months couldn't stand it. Absolutely wild to hear Mozart out of a makita battery charger
Makita likes public domain songs most likely. Also I want to hear ride the lightning seems fitting somehow.
one at works sings and always assumed it was a different model to mine, now mine sings to cheers
I did know this and have always used the baseball theme, great when you have multiple trades with the same chargers around.
Knew about the different charger tunes for ever
Your a douche bag
He knows that too.lol
Anthony James you what?
I'm glad you mentioned not reading the manual right at the start. I just got my first power tool set last week, from Makita, and adjusting the sounds was one of the first items I did. 😂
First cuddles
I only want “The imperial march”
why I keep changing the tunes.......lol this cool!! G.V. thanks for everything.
How did people not know this? I figured it out with my first makita tool
Dude it worked on my dual charger!😆 thanks for the video bro, and now I don't have to wait for the light to change like a dummy lol
who needs a radio when you got a makita charger lol. Great video didn't expected this from makita.
Mind blown...can't wait to get home, lol
It's amazing what you can learn if you read the directions
Dude that's awesome I've had a lxt makita for 7 years had no idea it would do that.
I've known about this feature and I love it! When I talk to someone else about makita, I ask them if their aware of it as well... If not, instead of just explaining it myself, I show them this video just to watch your snazzy dance moves lol.
I’m really happy I found this channel. Thank you for streaming the 4th of July sale, I picked up a few Ryobi’s.
Had mine since 2008 and never knew this. But after looking at the charger itself it does tell you how to do it
I just found your channel 2 days ago... I stopped the video and grabbed both my old and new Makita chargers before the video ended! 👍🏻 👍🏻
The old charger (DC18RA) does play the music 😎 but the new charger (DC18SD) does not. 😕 (It feels chintzy, so I wasn't surprised.)
Pretty sweet video! Made my day... my kids all laughed 😂🤣🤣 (the wife just gave me the old eye-roll and said I'm as bad as the kids). 😆
I feel as though the charging sound has changed his life indefinitely
Wow he seems excited 😂
That tune is Eine kleine Nachtmusik[a] (Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major), K. 525, is a 1787 composition for a chamber ensemble by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The German title means "a little serenade", though it is often rendered more literally as "a little night music".[
Yep! They do that, for many years now!
Love my Makita tools, but honestly their chargers do not need to look so complicated. 🥺
Nice feature and I couldn't wait to try it out when I got my first kit from Makita over 8 years ago
I know this has nothing to do with today's video but home depot has some Best Buy deals on shockwave and and M18 fuel set and shock wave if anybody's intrested
Yeah I picked up the FUEL M18 hammer drill and surge impact combo after my Makita hammer drill snapped in half on a job.
Crazy! My older charger I bought in 2007 started doing that out of nowhere. I thought maybe they put a program on the new battery I bought.😂
I remember many years ago when I got my Makita gear I found this and went round construction sites changing the tunes on all the Makita chargers ( I'm a sparkie) ... Damn for weeks it confused the feck out of my colleagues.
Tricky Japanese engineers 🧑🏻💻. Interesting, but it would be impressive if it played Black Sabbath’s Iron Man!
I like to think Makita put it in as an Easter egg for those who actually read the manual.
this absolutely made my day, i had to check for april fools in august tho, not gonna lie xDDD
Thanks for this, had Makita tools for liek 10 years and never knew this lol. Now we can keep controll of who owns what charger at the workplace by sound =) So again THANKS =)
I been knowing this for years. I thought I was about to learn something new
Love it can’t wait to get to work and change my tune
The reason they use classical music is that the copyright has expired on each of the works! Classic, though!
It's a great idea where you're working alongside others, you'll know when YOUR battery is charged by the different tune.
I'm not sure why this is even possible but I like it and I'm glad I have the rc
i love the mannequin dancing. You're having too much fun !
Thanks for saving my time and hassle of returning.
how you mount it on the wall though?? doesn't seem to have the regular mounting hole every other chargers do
this information is a life changer
Oh.. my.. god.. I bought a whole Makita setup for work recently and this video blew my mind because I used to know this but totally forgot
I really doubted if this was real, but the run to the garage was worth it and so was the money spent on the equipment. Haha. Thanks for the great video...
Thanks, it works on mine.
I have two different Makita battery systems and got a used one of those... the tunes are hilarious and very Japanese.
Your excitement over a chargers notification tone is awesome!! Gonna set mine after work lol
“Rockinggg and freaking rulingggg and freaking rockingggg and freaking rulingggggg”
